Warhammer 40k

I don't want to sound like i'm defending female Custodes, or god forbid female Astartes. But aren't Custodes intended by the Emperor as what he envisioned the "next stage" of humanity would be like? Though I would imagine female Custodes would only come around after the Great Crusade, which obviously never happened.

He believed psykers were the next stage for human evolution. Maybe you're thinking of Bile's New Men?

Am I the only one who is gonna bet abnett had more of a hand in this then ADB? Yes the latter has been talking about female custodies for years, but iirc he's only written one book about them (master of mankind) and the former has been subtly fucking with custodies lore for years, I will put money on it being a thing valdor cooked up after the hearsay or one of malcadors back up plans.

Imo there's no good books/current lore about the sisters that would attract them. I've been avoiding it because of ADB but I have talked to people who hold the night lord trilogy in high regard and is one of the reasons why the bought minis for the faction and it only took two necron books to spark interest in them after ward did what ward did best, also someone correct me if I'm wrong but where the death korps of krieg first introduced in the siege of vrakas campaign or where they established lore before that?
On the other hand a bad book entry can kill intrest in a faction. Looking at you ynnari, they truly lived up to the whole gimmick of eldar killing themselves.
iirc the Death Korps were first featured in the Armageddon releases from 3rd ed as alternative color schemes for the Steel Legion

On the current topic, im excited to see if they fuck up and double down spectacularly on this, and if the new crop of normies and redditors they've been building up since the "Warhammer is for everyone" post will be enough to keep the revenue flowing, the answer is probably a yes, but they just squatted half of their OG AoS releases in prep for a 4th edition, they will continue making retarded decisions that only the most hardcore of consoomers will stay for, and they now have to make sure those are both hardcore consoomers and not le chuds, 11th or 12th ed will be a fascinating time for 40k

I second that. I don't see any lore contradictions besides how things were 10K years in the past and I'm more bummed out of how shit the modern writing is for 40K in that it feels way more like it pushes new figures than telling a story.
May not be a "contradiction" per se, but it's very much an "um, acchshually" moment as can be. Also, the 8th edition codex explicitely mentioned sons. It's the same way that nowhere it says that Sisters of Silence are only female but it can be infered by name/prior context.

And lets not fucking kid ourselves. This "revelation" is purely for good boy points and other assorted ESG faggotry (and weird coomers), not because there will suddenly be a new perspective or modeling opportunity worth exploring (butch lesbian heads in custodes sprues are not anything to be proud of).

At this point, either GW backpedals once they realize that coomers and troons (redundant I know) don't blow nowhere near as much money as their core customers, or they collapse over doubling down and alienating the latter in favor of the former.

So either way, it'll be fun to watch.
"We have always been at war with East Asia".
So what do you think of the news? GW has gone woke. Female Custodes first then female Space Marines later. Ugh I don't feel so good bro.
Don't know if it will devolve into that, but it's shown the usual faggots that they have drawn a good chunk of blood and they are like sharks.

My hottest take is one of the lost chapters will be a dommy mommy primarch that was expunged because patriarchy and has created a utopic mirror of the empire because feminism and woman sensitivity. She is allied with the Snorks which are super intelligent and empathic orks. The Lion will encounter them while trying to do his own thing and pledge loyalty after losing in honorublu combat.

I don't even know why I still get invested, most fluff changes from primaris onward have been ass as far as I'm concerned.

IF female custodians were always a thing, why mention it now? Why not during #MeToo, the women's march, RBG's death, the overturning of RvW, etc.? There's been a million more opportune times to unveil the discovery (not invention) of female Custodians since their inception to now, so why? Is there some change that can be directly pointed to or is this just the water finally eroding the dam?

I'd have way more respect for the "usual faggots" if they stopped bullshitting and just admit that they don't give a shit about being inclusive and only want shit like this solely to spite the chuds or for the coom.

Pretty much. Same thing that has happened with every franchise for the last 10 years. Force you out by changing everything you enjoyed and not give a shit if it kills the brand, they ruined something the you liked and that's good enough. But yes, I prefer GW just telling me it hates it's current fanbase and be done with it. Though I'm not much to talk, I barely buy any GW or citadel products at all.

I till do very much love the lore though. It's all so tiresome...

Mike Brooks is pretty open about that, to his credit. His recent Black Library contributions include tranny Eldar and genderspecial Ork pronouns.

Unfortunately Flight of the Eisenstein is where HH stops following an easy reading order, I'm about 23 books deep in the series and at least a dozen has had Istvan 3 and 4 either be the opener for a book, happen in the middle, or end on it.

The problem with out right skipping books is that 90% they tie into events from another book, for instance the first assassinorm book is almost completely skippable except one of the minor Luna Wolfs/Sons of Horus captains that has a decent pressions in the first 4 books gets killed in in, so unless you've read it your left scratching your head wondering what happened to him.
So far I have only come across 4 outright skippable books since they don't tie into much
Descent of Angels
Battle for the Abyss
Fallen Angels
The Outcast Dead

The Anthology's are somewhat skippable, some of the shorts are pure fluff others tie into the plot for serval books
That's incredibly unfortunate. Reading those first 3 was a slow ramp up to actually getting me really invested, with Galaxy in Flames paying off all the build up to a point where I ranked it extremely highly among all the books I've read in recent history. I'm someone who likes straightforward stories that follow consistent characters. If I am going to have to read 100 books which are only going to give me a minuscule sampling of the direct story I want to follow then I am probably not going to continue any further which sucks. I have a lot of threads I am invested in that where left on uncertain dangling strings by not being off-screened so to speak (Is Loken really dead? Did Jonah really betray Titanus?) and the one I though was going to be directly followed up in Eisenstein with what's gonna happen with Sindermann, Euphrati & Mersadie.

I'll finish Eisenstein and I'll have to see if I maintain interest from there, but my interest already face-planted after finding it didn't go right into the former plot thread.

Yeah, it’s for that reason that I’m fine with the retcon. Custodes are gene-tailored warriors rather than Space Marines which are empowered through the Emperor’s own genes and warp magic. Think Spartan-IIs versus Spartan-IVs.

It'll be handled similarly to Votann anyways. Male heads, female heads and something in between. Body and everything remains the same. I don't think Custodes are relevant enough when it comes to releases for GW to give them Stormcast treatment.

I wonder how many Guard and Votann collectors actually use the female heads on purpose. I suspect it may be more likely that the grey female heads get mistaken for male as they're being glued on.

Female custodians weren't always a thing. They had the Emperor globulus genes as they were used to juice up Primaris, that's how this whole mess started.

Its like they can't even get their own nu-lore together. Shamefur dispray. So that's not true, at least not until they retcon it, and it would retcon Primaris too to some extent to just more primarch dna I guess.

Not that I would be surprised if they did, but I don't think they will bother, as female marines are coming too. They can just retcon out the whole "needy y chromosome" thing, and be done with it.

I’ve never liked Custodes, they’re annoying in every book, they’re simps for the worst character and they never back up the hype cause they die in hilarious ways, so them becoming sissies is fine.

Bile got his hands on Custardes corpses so make of that what you will.

If GW falsely wanted to give representation to women, why not create a character that is Fujoshi or Yumejo? because that is what more than half of his female audience is made up of, that is the true female representation. No woman really cares about this decision, the majority acts indifferent. It's good to know that they care even more about their male audience by providing them with fap material.
(and a decision like this being made just when Henry Cavill is interested in creating a series about WH40K? Mmm, where is my aluminum hat?)

It was only an matter of time, tbh. Overall, I'm kind of ambivalent about it; but it's still an dick move for them to backpedal about it. As for female Space Marines, it's kind of plausible if we're talking about something related to Chaos. But otherwise, the next step would probably be either Girlyman or the High Lords actually pushing for the Imperium to be unironically less xenophobic than mentioning that Alpharius is actually an woman.

But I think that I'll continue pirating the novels and watch Warhammer+ shows on those other sites.

Give GW some time and their tourist writers will start retconing the lore of 40k to plug in all types of faggot shit, like they did with Age of Smegma

Hear me out. Cavill loves Custodes, and he's going to more or less choose what character he gets to play in the universe. He decides to play a female Custodian, but literally just puts on a wig and lipstick. Make himself look like the Misters of Battle kitbashes.
