Honestly there's nothing for me to boycott. I've effectively been boycotting GW since I learned how to play the game.

I think the only items I've ever purchased from GW was the 9th edition Necron codex, 2 boxes of warriors, 2 canoptek spyders, and a catacomb command barge.

I own or have given out to my group of friends 4k+ necrons, 4k+ space marines, 4k+ tsons, 3k+ sisters, 3k+ grey knights, 3k+ chaos knights, 2k+ world eaters, 1k+ daemons, 1k+ orks, 1k+ custodes, 1k+ tau, 1k+ death guard, almost all the combat patrols, most of the kill teams, and 3 tables worth of terrain. I'm for sure forgetting some stuff here, too.

The only companies that need to worry about pissing me off are Anycubic and Sunlu.

Wasn't there a biological reason for Custodes to be male? As in, the blood transfusion from their "primarch", that is part of the biochemical transformation process, can only work with males, and not females? I read about it on both 1d4 (hallowed be its name) and Lexicanum, but Lexi doesn't have this info anywhere on the custodes page and 1d4chan is sleeping on the red snow, so i guess that was a rumor after all, huh?

So they flesh out the custodies in the heresy series then retcon them as SoT is wrapping up/over? (Tapped out around book 70)
Why not do the retcon around book 30 or so when custodies power level and behaviour is being established? Theoretically I don’t care too much about female custodies I always thought custodies were kind of forced and gay anyway. It just goes to show how little GW gives a fuck about continuity.

ETA: The oversear fellas posted slightly up thread is a pretty cool idea though tbh. Shame me and everyone I know got tired of the nu-gw slop and just play old editions.

I believe there’s rules for marines wielding lasguns.

Lasgun Marines paints a funny picture although it could make sense for the Legions that more focus on guerilla war. I can see Raven Guard, Alpha Legion, Night Lords or White Scars using lasgun variants to operate continuously behind enemy lines. lasgun packs can recharge from heat or sunlight. It would also hide the marines too. Everyone knows marines use bolters/volkites or plasma weapons. Lasgun damage when found wouldn't alert the enemy that there's marines running about.

For now, this is a single terrible decision in a long litany of them by GW, but to many this is the first real proof of the rot in the foundation. The response would not have been this aggro if anything about this had been handled well or with care, but as ever, it wasn't, and what makes apparent that actual fans aren't going to be listened to is GW's community management response over the criticism of it.

It's not that anyone wants to pull out, it's that at this point there's nothing we can realistically do to stop this beyond voting with our wallets. And we know this because we tried to fight on every other occasion. Nerds of all stripes fought them on the beaches of every sci-fi franchise that has ever existed - and look at where they are now. No matter how many franchises this shit has brought down in flames,no matter how many times it brings about economic gotterdammerung, they keep going. We already watched them make the single most profitable IP in history completely unable to make money in less than three years, and they still were able to do the same damage to franchise after franchise even with that failure hanging around their necks.

Indeed, despite every corner of the internet, every single person who cared calling foul, and every single person doing their damnedest to starve the beast of its cash (reminder of all that merch for these pozzed franchises that went unsold), the same groups still are pushing the exact same thing. Everywhere. In every industry. No matter how many times it brings about ruination, failure, and destruction, it keeps going forward.

All we can do is hunker down and wait for this cycle of infection to inevitably burn itself out.

I've seen this pan out many times before. Out of touch corporation is told by politically charged idiots that diversity will make them more money because diversity and progressiveness is all the rage. Out of touch company starts to hire politically charged idiots to work on their IP, especially people who are unqualified because in the company's eyes diversity is more important than actual skill and experience. Said politically charged idiots proceed to insert their ideologies, shitty writing and politics into the universe changing it from escapism to political pandering and preaching.

Backlash ensues, company doubles down even harder and handles the backlash in the worst way possible. The entire time out of touch corpos are assured it has nothing to do with their terrible handling over the situation or their hamfisted preaching, they are on the right side of history and anyone who disagrees is a bigot.

Hobby proceeds to die a slow painful death over the course of years. Maybe it even manages to stick around holding on for dear life but it will never be the same again, it becomes an empty soulless depressing shell of what it used to be.

And with that I'm out. I just don't have it in me anymore to watch another hobby of mine get skull fucked by the cult of Slannesh.

Do you guys think some actual autists will take action in physical stores or even Warhammer world? There needs to be an actual stand here or else it all fails. You can’t just do internet posturing since GW will never listen.

I will be very disappointed if I don't get to watch cellphone video of autists reeeeeeing and shitting up gaming shops.

At this point, either GW backpedals once they realize that coomers and troons (redundant I know) don't blow nowhere near as much money as their core customers, or they collapse over doubling down and alienating the latter in favor of the former.

Coomers and troons do blow tons of money, just not on figurines. They'll be blowing their paychecks on porn commissions instead.

It's confirmed, and fuck Games Workshop. It's only a matter of time now before Female Space Marines are a thing, which means they've chosen their customer base -- and it's not the ones that spend $60 on 3 plastic figurines.

It didn't stop every other IP from getting fucked up. When you look across the entire nerd strata of fictional universes, every single one of them got infiltrated and taken over by this same insidious force. All of them alienated its core consumers and accepted outright economic losses rather than shift course back.

WH 40k was the last man standing in that regard, but after it got mainstream notice it was only a matter of time. The gate has fallen, and it's only now a matter of time.
