its just usually you have this really tepid period where the infiltrators are happy and everyone tries to pretend its fine as things get gayer and gayer, im surprised people wised up this hard after just a hint to the point some people trying to come in for an easy virtue signal are forced to say "ITS A JOKE ITS A PRANK" when they try to get a dunk in, forced to sulk in other peoples more safe replies and yell their "jokes" of "get them you tell those chuds unironically" there. and people trying to grind a paycheck fencesitting being driven to "i-i didnt write it guys, i didnt mean it". usually something like this becomes the thing thats sort of uneasily tolerated and flaunted around as their precedent for "see it worked here you accepted the force awakens and didnt drop this thing with gays"

Trusting the Soyence, what is happening now looks alot like an immune response. Luetins comments are getting inundated with replies like "they can fly now" and "somehow, horus returned".

GWs usual cheerleaders like Majorkill are putting out their tepid "y...y...yay?" To test the waters and are getting buried in an avalanche of spite. After seeing what happened to so many other properties before Warhammer, the mind virus has been pretty effectively analyzed at this point.

So the first hint of infection, however innocuous is eliciting extreme response. Good.

That’s an extremely rough summary. He addresses the concerns of retcons and how they can break the lore (he brings up Doctor Who as an example that throws the lore out the window). He voices concern at the odd way the Custodes retcon was introduced.

His wider appeal comment was in reference to the double-edged sword of 40k getting into the mainstream. It would not be feasible to depict some of the gory and darker imagery of Warhammer in the mainstream and changes to that would be a consequence of 40k going mainstream.

It doesn't need to be changed or retconned. It just needs to be ignored or alluded too. Nobody wants to see an Emperors Children "recruiting" mission depicted on screen.

The solution to that isn't to just delete it though. It's to just allude too it. Either with a Villain reminiscing on his past, or a shattered survivor warning the heroes of their fate if they fail.

but that is not the entire issue. It's not just that factions in fiction based on the gender binary are immoral. The people who created these works of fiction are also immoral by nature of their creation. With an unclean mind they created heretical works of culture that assume the wrong position that people can be excluded from what they want to be by immutable biological and cultural constructs like gender.

The factions are not the only evil things. Their creators are evil too. Cursed with the sin of wrong think, and the only way to expunge the sin of political wrong think is to profess as publicly and loudly as possible that you were just misunderstood. You were always in compliance. The custodes always had women in their ranks. Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.

youd think a bleak setting could explore that from the pov of it being an injustice. its to the point in media that i think people legit are just becoming more right wing and racist simply because if youre raised on media youd think all ethnic conflicts in history and fiction were just two multiethnic international diverse accepting groups having quarrels. you cant really get a feel for how homogenous older western society was if 90 percent of them in a portrayal are non white.

I left 40k right around the time when Total War Warhammer 2 got released. Only dabbling in Fantasy occasionally

My guess is, despite the fact that there's a lot of anger in the online 40K community due to the Femstodes, the normie consumers won't care, because they don't give a flying shit about the lore. To them, 40K is just a toy soldier game they play at wargaming places or paint as a canvas. They see no difference between it and say, GI Joe, Marvel, Transformers, or Star Wars; they're just toy franchises for them to collect or play with. The people who care about the lore and the story, yes, they're up in arms. Just as they were with the Primaris. But let's get real here, those people represent a negligible amount of the people who buy this slop. Hell, some lore fans have spent years not painting a single army or playing a single game because of how GW raises prices all the time.

People will keep saying that 40K fans are going to boycott GW over this, just like they said when GW raised prices or forced them to accept the Primaris. But at the end of the day, this will all be just a nothingburger because the fuckin' whales don't give two flying shits if there's Fem Custodes or Fem Marines. The only thing they will care about is if they look nice or if they have good stats, which the Fem Marines that will inevitably come probably will have, since GW and their ESG masters would encourage people to buy them.

I hope I'm wrong about this, but experience has shown me otherwise. Forcing the Primaris in violated the lore from the 90s onwards. Jacking up the price tag is horribly anti-consumer, but they kept buying the product anyways.

The lore fans and the naysayers will continue to claim that an incoming boycott will kill GW, but the matter of the fact is, the whales are addicted, and that's all GW needs to keep moving forward. This isn't the SW fanbase that let Solo bomb at the box office as a ''fuck you'' to Disney after TLJ. How many times have we heard that GW is going to get fucked by 3D printing and angry fans, only for GW to keep on going because the people who buy their product don't care about their lackadaisical attitude towards lore and product prices? One too many times, in my count. GW will keep abusing the lore and their fans, but so long as the whales and the ESG companies keep the money coming in, they won't care, they never cared.
