You should be more concerned with all the Medusa porn people have come up with over the years despite the fact she was explicitly described as being so ugly that merely gazing upon her would petrify you out of horror. Hence Perseus using his curved shield that would distort her image instead of a mirror.
Well I blame the modern adaptations for sexualizing Medusa and her sisters, that Clash of the Titans remake with Liam “Buck Hunter” Neeson was really notable for making her not so monsterous. I think the Percy Jackson stuff followed suite but I haven’t seen those movies.

that's why men in ancient times invented bags and helmets.
also >looking at her face sounds gay

Oh ye, these Wargame Exclusive guys do have some good pinup models, hell their Ork models are pretty dope and always wanted to get some.
I like that their models are relatively clean and only busy where they need to be, not the usual CAD "omg there's a flat micron quick put some texture and detail on it!11"

I never understood the spergery some fans had over other people playing xenos or chaos.
I play craftworlds mostly and let me tell you, it warms the cockles of my heart when I see a sweaty SM list desperately fumble his rolls and failing to hit my units. The icing on the cake is always the offhands at the end of the match: "eldar still OP", "that figures, they're still broken".

Dumb question but can i use kill team models in regular 40k games or not?
Yes, for the most part. I dont think gellerpox have a 40k unit, Strike force Justian will end up as just alternate models for their respective units, Hierotek circle apprentek doesnt have a unit but you could probably proxy as a plasmancer and the plasmacytes are parts of the ophydian/skorpekh destroyers.

It was probably a bit earlier. Lamia went from being ugly devourer of children to seducers and devourers of men during the early Roman empire.

And then the Victorians got involved:

For those curious, a woman painted that, and women being women she probably wasn't thinking about the dude all that much...

You can honestly blame the Victorians for a lot. The cherubim went from the vengeful guardians of Eden to cute little babies thanks to them.

Well at least this one shows that she is fitting a wife for an Indian, as she is snake from below the street redeemer. Sar!

Warhammer isn’t like magic the gathering or tcgs that rotate out their cards. A lot of the models someone bought in the late 80s could still be used today and until recently GW didn’t try to clamp down on that. Even so no one is going to care if they’re proxied as similar units and in some areas there’s still people who play older editions. Part of why I don’t like tcg games is how fast the meta changes and how much some cards fluctuate in price and usefulness.
That's because TCG sellers hate scalpers. They hate the fact that they probably sold a Charizard card to some brat for 20 bucks, then that kid grows up and sells that Charizard for a thousand dollars. So of course, they make older, rarer cards less important by making more of them and making them more common. Suddenly, that little shit selling a Charizard for 1000 bucks looks silly when every kid in the playground can get Charizard GX for ten bucks.

It's not like Warhammer where the scalpers and GW have a good, working relationship. TCG companies actively try to hurt scalpers by making rare cards more common and by making them weaker by releasing newer, better cards to hurt scalpers trying to sell rare cards for a mint. GW on the other hand has no problem letting the scalpers buy all the merch online and sell it for a markup on Ebay or Amazon. So long as the stuff is sold out, they couldn't care less.

Culturally yes but the low-iq gooners probably draw their ideas from recent sources.

These are the same apes whose sole knowledge of the myths is “HA ZEUS FUCKED AROUND”

Well, yeah, but even that is just built on what came before.

Not exactly the sort of ah... tameness people associate with the 1940's and 1950's, is it?

Fair, I consneed.

Those pulp covers were blatant pornography.
Yep. If there's been one constant in human history, its the need to coom. Hell, the ancient Greeks even had a fable about a sculptor named Pygmalion who had such a need to coom the gods heard his prayers and turned one of his statues into a woman for him. Dude went full MGTOW until he carved a magnificent ivory woman, at which point his natural instincts took over and he needed her, and Aphrodite gave him what he wanted.

Hell, the Roman poet Ovid, one of the greats of classical poetry, even had an entire book of TF jacking material he disguised as a founding mythos tale, the Metamorphoses.

I’m actually on a mythology kick (I’ve always had an interest but now I’m dedicating time to it) and I read the one where Prometheus, during his imprisonment was happened upon by an ugly, bestial woman who had the misfortune of being one of Zeus’s side pieces.

The story spiraled into Hera having a million-eyed man to keep an eye on her husband, Zeus sending Hermes to kill the guy after he fell asleep after Hermes yammered on for hours about nonsense.

I love it. The MGTOW statue maker being ahead of his time by making the waifu predicted AI.
