What a wonderful allegory for letting women into the police force. How can Games Workshop be so based?
Is joke.
This isn't the first time ''progressive'' companies made something that is accidentally based. Disney Star Wars did it more than a few times, especially with their Sequel Trilogy and the Filoniverse; the New Republic disarms itself and gets its gonads kicked in by First Order ex-Imperials. One of the groups that show up to save the day are the Mandalorians, who believe that guns are a part of their religion. The Ahsoka show where the female Jedi were supposed to take the lead has them making rookie mistakes and getting their asses beaten by powerful men like Thrawn and Baylan Skoll more than once.
I mean, hell, this isn't the first time GW did it themselves. They are the
masters of accidentally making something based. Just look at the Space Marines and the Imperium as a whole. They were meant to be the worst of humanity, caricaturing right-wing military and religious conservatives, but to many people on the right, they are the best humanity can offer, because they will die fighting for their god, king, and country. Then they let women into the Custodes, and the Custodes lose over 75% of their battles.
That's just so based it's getting testosterone poisoning. I'm beginning to wonder if GW does these things on purpose, or if they're just that clumsy that they accidentally made things so based.
GW really likes screwing the pooch. I’m sure the next field update will reflect that.
I expect them to over-correct and make the Custodes too OP in the next patch. Or just not address the matter at all.
Them making a balanced game is like what if Team Rocket actually stole Pikachu and left Ash and his friends for dead.
Not surprised. Anyone who saw the rules before the femstodes knew they were going to be bad
I was going to buy a Custodes army before this, but after these rules came out, I decided to cancel all plans of it.
My theory that the FemStodes post was to focus attention on anything than the fact the new Codex was a readable trash heap is looking more true than I thought.
It's probably true. They're using the culture war to cover for the fact that they suck at their actual job, making a balanced wargame where all factions are properly represented in power.
Then again, I've heard that GW identified themselves as a miniatures company, not a wargaming one.
