I’ve lazily ended up on it a few times rather than going to much better independent wikis for other games.

As a follow-up to these, this is one of Soulforge's members (or possibly associates; I don't recall the exact connection beyond being their official partnered printing service) printing an upscaled version of Soulforge's Invincible Reason, with the tabletop scale one for comparison. No changes to the design as far as I'm aware, just larger.
It's not as intricate at the Sword purpose-built for a larger scale, but it's more than good enough if you just want your oversized Gloriana.

The warhammer wiki is less reliable.
Lexicanum however is anal slow to update and seldom has more thqn the most basic info.
Weshammer does OK for normies, but he is a massive leftie and mistakes some 4chan memes for actual lore.

Holy fuck, 40k Twitter's annoying. And for once it's not the rainbow haired flag carrying porn obsessed freaks.
Some autistic -- blatantly autistic, even for 40k, and not in the meme way -- has pissed off a few of the "chudhammer" guys like HMB (gay vtuber who pretends to be a Black Templar, constantly targeted by the wokies for cancelation) and the guy who pretends to be the Emperor of Mankind and that one guy who pretends to be a Space Marine reporter in power armor, by doing... who the fuck knows at this point. But the most recent thing is they're pulling out screencaps of shit he posted literally a decade ago that they've sat on just in case he ever gets canceled -- I guess 6 years ago he posted some cringe shit where it was outed he likes Straight Shota (high school kid x mid 30s woman) hentai while he defended the plot of some porn comic, and they have some screencap of him 9 years ago chatting and halfass flirting with a 17 year old when he was in his early 20s. ("That's groooooming" they scream from their fainting couches.)
So now we have an honest to god pedo hunt going on like it's a 1980s Moral Majority meetup.
I literally just want to see people's cool paint jobs, listen to people bitch about GW, and talk about 3d Printers. Why the fuck am I having to see a bunch of people pretending to be 40k characters go on a moralfag crusade for clout?

I looked just now, saw the mess, recognized none of the names... I dunno? Just because they aren't crazy left wing idiots doesn't mean they'll be any better on twitter from the right or whatever. Twitter is twitter, but at the same time... don't fuck kids? It isn't a difficult thing to avoid doing.

Not having an X account keeps me blissfully unaware of these sorts of community happenings. NGL I much prefer posting my WIP here then I would anywhere else, places like dakkadakka don't get much engagement on new threads outside of the rumors and general Warhammer discussions. Maybe sign up to bolter and chain sword since they have a lot of active WIP threads you could enjoy.

Your first mistake is going to twitter for 40K content after the 2012 before the shitshow that was 6th edition and everyone became obsessed with politics. People pretending to be 40K characters used to be treated like retarded zoo animals, especially the ones who’d constantly spout “for the emperor”, LARP as inquisitors and got mad about people playing xenos and chaos. If you don’t own an army back then your opinion was pretty much irrelevant.
I think I know who that fаggоt who LARPs as a space marine reporter is. He pops in with ai generated images of a guy in astartes power armor with a microphone and reply guys people. I don’t like either side of the discourse and find that they’re both obnoxious and don’t seem to play the game as much as they sperg out.
Speaking of gay vtubers, this guy showed up on my home feed the other day with a list that was kind of interesting, but it ultimately comes off as being another AS/SoB player trying to make BoF a more competitive detachment than what it is. People were already clinging to this army for competitive play as it was, especially since they abuse the hell out of their core mechanics. They’re going to get hit with the next update again and again. Kind of sucks because I genuinely love this army.

Warhammer twitter was fun years ago then everyone became gender blobs or gender blob allies to dunk on the five “right wing chuds” who have dozens of sock puppet accounts rather than just ignoring them.
It was sad watching one twitter user who was a decent painter troon out and just post selfies constantly after that.

I know the nerd | incel | troon pipelines are a real thing, thus the Warhammer Fandom are going to be infested with them, but Warhammer, especially 40k was always about massive violence and over the top macho manliness.
With occasional bad arse females, like the sisters of battle, various eldar witches and hive city gangers.
Mostly it was also a way for these soft nerdy types to imagine being ultra powerful godlike super soldiers and destroying hordes of equally dangerous and powerful foes.
If anywhere, it should be inclusive in the sense you leave your “real life” at the door and go into pure imagination.
Also, who the fuck would be the social justice warriors of 40k? The Tau? The Genestealers?
No, it would be Chaos. Thus demonstrating that the real enemies are Troons and genderspecials, seeking to corrupt and warp everything.

didn't think you did, like I said it was more of a thought exercise anyway. in raw numbers siocast clearly wins, I'd still pick inkjet for some of the other advantages tho (and if I'd run a business on that scale to choose between either I'm close to pick both anyway).

Siocast reminds me of Zealot Miniatures, which I think was mentioned in here earlier. Basically some guys got together and bought a siocast machine or 10 and do small scale print batches for people, or at least that's the impression I got.

Yeah, the guys doing the minis for Quar's War(I think that's the name of it?) have been contracting out their production with siocast, metal spin casting, resin pours, etc. As long as you can maintain a customer base, wouldn't be any different than the 3d printing farms that make widgets for larger businesses that don't want to invest in their own manufacturing or don't need enough quantity to pay for the traditional injection mold tooling.
You say they're trying to make BoF a more competitive detachment than what it is, but it's literally the only thing keeping the faction competitive, mostly because it's the only thing anyone is willing to play.
40/48 SoB players last weekend were playing it for a 56% win rate, and have maintained that for the past month. The couple of people playing HM are basically an anomaly by comparison even if they have a higher win percentage. Yeah, it's probably going to get smacked with a nerf bat somehow. I haven't watched the video and I'm not familiar enough with it(just don't have that many SoB players in the area) to know what units are carrying the detachment that are likely to get hit, but it's going to happen with BA and dark eldar also getting hit with the nerf bat as well.
The thousand sons thing is interesting. Most players I've spoken to want their army "fixed" because the cabal points being tied to characters means they can't even really bother trying much in the way of list variety. Since the moment they don't max their cabal points, they get dumpstered.

Twitter is scary in that, you can rarely use it but the algorithm will know you lean right and like 40k so they will give you these fucking guys even arch on your front page, I rarely used twitter only for art and was baffled to see that shit already recommended to me.
That's because twitter, just like FB and google, even if you don't officially have an account with them, they already have a pretty good idea of who you are based on profiles so by the time you do bother to sign up or finally login, they've already got content skewed to what they assume you want to see. And it's not like twitter even needs to have collected it themselves, just like FB and google they get tons of information from the companies they've bought over the years and random services they provide used by third parties you interact with.

I think it works best in its current state of largely being a vague date far in the future with the dieselpunk-esque technology combined with the science magic of psykers and the warp.
It gets seriously overcomplicated every decade or so, so they effectively have to reboot it and retcon shit as it is.
Adding resolutions would just make it more confusing.

Resolutions? That would just end the setting. Nids being defeated? OK, now all of the resources can be dedicated to wiping out the Tau, orks being put back in their place like during the great crusade with at most eldar kinda remaining a threat? And then with the increase in resourced due to not constantly fighting multiple wars of attrition, the necrons can be dealt with. Congrats, setting over.
Nids win? Congrats, setting over. Same with any other faction seeing actual resolution to their main conflict.
Moving events forward to deal with relatively small happenings here and there is fine. Kill characters off, come up with new characters. Tau took a system? Imperium can go take a different one back. Moving it along is fine, it continues the narrative. Resolutions? That's the kind of thing you save for when you need to reset the universe.
Nah, they're too incompetent for that. The IP barely even exists outside of western Europe and North America after 40 years, even though they've been fucking around with the tabletop games, TTRPGs, a fucking rock band at one point, video games, board games, books, etc. for decades. GW exists in its current state only in spite of the habitually incompetent leadership decisions, reluctance to act like it's the 21st century in many regards, and refusal to do what most other companies would have done 20 years ago for brand expansion.
I suppose on the flip side, while retaining control like they have even with their stable of black library authors has absolutely stifled growth of the company. But it has kept shit from being watered down into pure trash like say.. Star Trek or Star Wars.
