I unironically don’t understand tactical rock hate sometimes. GW bases don’t come with nice hole placements to drill and the models don’t have pegs, the rock provides something to stick the model to at least. I actually got the new assault intercessors too and didn’t really have an issue with them and they are pretty stable.

I actually also don’t see an issue with the new HQs either? The death company seem to be a bigger sin but Idunno I’m not a blood angel fanboy.

I understand why GW is moving away from those transparent stands, they constantly flip over on tilted terrain, you can't get them inside buildings with low ceiling, and it's a chore to transport them. But those rock poses are objectively dogshit. GW doesn't understand how dynamic poses work, the perfect example that new jump pack chaos lord.

So the new Necromuda set is out this weekend but the HH Mechanicum box set comes up for pre order the same day.

Fuuuuuu-

I kind of want the blood angels army box coming out because I enjoy death company.

Has anyone kept up to date with Bolt Action third edition? Apparently they are moving away from smaller games to almost company sized games? This kinda sucks since im currently building up USMC Raiders and US Airborne and all you needed was unironically one army starter and maybe one or two extras but you are done after that. The current max size people typically play at is 1000 points but the new list building rules seem to make it seem like points are gonna be haffed with the amount of shit you need to bring now

If they're getting halved, the community can still do what it wants to do, and just play 500 point games then. Although the new star wars legion update also seems to be encouraging people to be at about 1.5x the army size they were previously. Clearly it's done for the sake of sales, but I do wonder if it's just part of an observation of communities wanting larger scale(as in more minis) in a game while retaining a distinct skirmish product(for star wars that would be shatterpoint).

Apparently they’re putting the immolator in the ordo hereticus battle box, which is lame because it means you’d have to but it in order to get the tank since they’re not rereleasing it as an individual tank. That just means I’ll be 3D printing conversion bits to turn a rhino into one.

The immolator has been a plastic kit on the website for a while now. Where are you seeing that it would need to be re-released? Sure it's listed as out of stock but that's just because they're probably packing them into the battle box, not that it won't ever be back on its own on the site.

Now don't let that stop you from printing a conversion or whatever. But I'm not seeing anything to indicate the immolator is suddenly going to be totally unavailable.

from my experience when it goes out of stock online it stays that way for a long while
I only managed to get ahold of a gobbapalooza from the dawnbringers box and I had set to be notified when they would be available since early 2020

Well sure, but that's no different than half the website at any given time. Probably related to their wanting to build a new factory. If GW can't sell you what you want, get it elsewhere.

edit: Hell, even if something is available, fuck 'em they're not our friends and will survive fine.

A lot of the times when they do those kinds of boxes, they tend to prioritize placing those sprues from that kit into that specific box rather than boxing them as individual kits. It’s why they’re going to wait to put the canoness with a jump pack out as an individual blister pack. That paired with people buying them up because of meta relevancy just like with novitiates means they’re probably going to go in and out of stock for a while until something else comes up.

They dropped some more of the Inquisition army stuff… it’s not an army at all. It’s just narrative fluff between games if you have any inquisition stuff in your army.

My standards were low but they managed to fall short of them.

Midwinter minis released a new video earlier this week reviewing and painting an alt model for imperial guard but he is selling this very mini on eBay. His previous eBay sale of a Skaven start collecting box reached a little under the £300 but this is beyond a joke

The saddest part of all of this is none of these will be joke bids and someone somewhere is willing to part with over £400.00 at the time of this post with 3 days left on the auction. This man's ability to milk the pay pigs is something to be admired at this point and I wish him a million in sales.

Got recommended this video on youtube of Destiny in 40k and 40k in Destiny. It kinda agitated me because it has like the most touristy 40k takes possible and gives the Destiny stuff all the benefits and 40k stuff all the handicaps. Destiny's Vanguard gets scaled up to a galactic level and there are no citizens for them to protect and The Imperium gets scaled down to the Sol system.

Even then he unwittingly gives The Imperium absolute trump cards such as 900k Astartes "of all different classes and legion", 10k dreadnaughts, Custodes, Greyknights, "Soriatas" , psykers, KNIGHTS, Mechanicus, etc, and the entire Last City's human population replaced with The Guard, with the leadership replaced with Guilliman, Lion El'jonson, and THE EMPEROR 'for shits and giggles'. And then completely ignores these things because the Vex can make simulations to see the future and kinda time travel sorta, and you can't beat the Hive unless you go to their subdimension and kill their 'gods', and The Witness is kinda-sorta-ish-maybe-not really similar to a Chaos God and can only be affected by 'paracausality'.

Meanwhile the Guardians essentially just have to play a numbers game because 'paracasality lol we cant die eat blackhole we win lmao gimme loot' and are totally immune to Chaos corruption and their effects.

Not trying to fan boy, but 40k wins all the scifi vs matches because its so absolutely insanely over the top. Whatever silly shenanigan happens in whatever scifi universe, 40k exaggerates it. All other scifi tries to take itself semi-seriously, 40k doesn't.

And the 2023-24 annual results are in. Let's see what impact the femstodes, couple of shit codices, and products everyone complains about have had. Earnings per share up. Operating profit up. Licensing profit up. Revenue up. They're actually proud of a printed magazine making money in what even they admit is an ever increasing digital age. 40 million plastic sprues. Production and warehousing costs are up, but still improved their margin.

They expect to make a warhammer fantasy show or whatever with amazon after the 40k thing.

They know they're going to be making more off of the upcoming video games. and still saw a licensing revenue increase without space marine 2 even out yet.

So much for all the worthless tourist doomposting. With their estimated cost to get the new factory operational at 9 million pounds, even if it goes horrendously overbudget and doubles in cost to 18 million, they've still got plenty of cash on hand that it'll barely make a dent the moment production ramps up and will be fully paid off practically immediately. Their licensing revenue alone more than covers that. Will that be some cost savings to customers? Fuck no lol.
I'm gonna let you in on a little secret it's the worst kept secret especially in war gaming scenes I've worked on a few TTRPG's no one actually reads the flavour text.
I guarantee you the people who have certain armies know the information behind that army and that is it it also doesn't help that GW never actually sells any named characters from books besides gaunts ghosts
also custodians are not popular to begin with so it's really not going to affect anybody who plays them which is four people at this point

also the woke idiots are the tourists

They do sell characters from books outside of gaunt’s ghosts, but the true fans of those armies aren’t going to go full soyjak over them making some tokenistic changes to pander to wokelets. The people who fawn for that stuff and the people who outrage farm on twitter are nogames and the same people who will say there’s more to the hobby than miniatures or are hopping ship to battletech.

I know they make miniatures for those books but they never make any other miniatures for away covers Kane.
Also maybe really boring but I really wanna see a series that is set after all three of the heroes of the imperium
Ciaphas Cain Ibram Gaunt Sebastian Yarrick
aand the influence they had on the overall military structure of the commissariat but GW never seems to get the idea that if all of these men are heroes of the imperium the leadership styles would create 3 distinctive schools of thought.
Also really want them to bring back the half elves space marine chapters that would be a good series of books .
Either the overall background of your story doesn't matter and you can change it constantly which is something that really only seems to happen in western studios Japan really doesn't seem to do the same thing it's almost like European studios love insulting their own audience and chasing this magical modern audience that doesn't exist.
Hustle one minor annoying virtue signal changes like that is not gonna drive away your customers but they're gonna continue going down that path and it's eventually gonna do the same thing it did to Star Wars I don't know anybody who plays or like Star Wars and I'm not even that old when I was 20 everyone was raving about Star Wars now no one cares about it
