I haven't seen them all but I liked the one with the imperial guard messenger fighting nids and the vindicare assassin.

There's a new anthology series called the tithes.

First episode continued the story of the salamander from that Nexus series. It was pretty good. He teams up with an ultramarine and they have a neat conflict of chapter personalities before kicking ass.

second one looks like it's following some poor dopes fighting or being sacrificed to nids.

Edit: oh ok it's the sisters of silence.
Did they just hire all the people who make the high quality fan animations because that feels like what they did also what's with the backgrounds having no detail very flat looking other than that looks fun if I wasn't completely against streaming services I might buy a subscription
you know it never get why everyone thinks anybody is a match for the imperium of man it is literally a million planet strong.
The series is pretty good though

I feel like I'm forever talking about Guy from Midwinter Minis, and I didn't really want to post this, but his latest video was genuinely so skin-crawlingly mawkish and overwrought and emotionally manipulative, even by his usual unpleasant standards, I feel like it can't pass without comment. It seems we've moved on from 'muh kids, muh kids' to 'muh dead dad' with this ridiculous poncy, pretentious bollocks about how 'nostalgia is the shimmer of light from distant memories' or whateverthefuck, which I am almost convinced Hattie wrote for him, because it's the most ridiculously flowery, over-the-top foid-brained shit I've ever heard. 'A place where the sun always sets just right'? What the fuck does that even mean, Guy? That it doesn't go spiralling off into the sky in a horrific flaming apocalyptic event?

All of this, set to this soft, wistful piano music in the background and this bullshit contrived waver in his voice.
Christ, what a fucking bellend.

Also, A1 fucking opsec by uploading an image of your three year old daughter to YouTube, in a swimsuit, and not even bothering to pixelate or obscure her fucking face. Top class responsible parenting there. If I was Penny, I would be pushing SO hard for single custody right now.

I feel like Guy uses the people in his life like trophies - he did it with Penny, back when his channel started, by making sure she was positioned with him right at the forefront, then he did it with Hattie when him and Penny split up ("Look at my new, younger model! She wasn't even born in the '90s!") and he does it with his kids, here, to help him portray the image of the nice, wholesome Warhammer dad, the upstanding family man. Awful.

He absolutely does.

Gotta tug those heartstrings, as they're attached to wallets. Unlike other channels, he's never actually been able to get anyone to make any real appearances. That collab thing with the tranny was barely a collaboration. I can't recall him popping up on anyone else's youtube videos, podcasts, etc. And as you pointed out, he puts the people in his life in his videos as props.

Snipe & Wib, their channel is kinda shit(wake takes regarding things regularly hamfisted into their videos). But at least it's a duo, and when the fat chick got cancer, it wasn't like she was paraded into the videos out of the blue.

Squidmar. His friend, employee, fucktoy, I dunno? The guy with the glasses. He's basically worked himself into most of the content, isn't unlikeable, and is there for the content not simply just to appear.

Eons of battle, the gay brown guy. He's only ever offhandedly mentioned having a boyfriend maybe once, it's probably the guy that appears in the videos every now and then. But when that guy is in the videos, he's there to discuss the hobby and the content of the video, not simply to just make an appearance.

But midwinter minis? Only time people appear in his videos if it he thinks its going to get him some money or pad the video for time leaving him with less shit to actually do.

I wonder if the reason Guy doesn't collaborate with anyone else in the community (aside from him being very unlikeable) is because, on some level, he thinks he is the community. After all, he says himself, he's one of the most successful Warhammer channels on YouTube and his world-famous converted land raider is one of the most iconic and well recognised Warhammer models ever!

Who the fuck are all these other people? Why should I collaborate with them? I'M GUY FROM MIDWINTER MINIS!!

Midwinter Minis really does need to stop putting his kids in videos. Most of the larger hobby channels have families but they're only ever mentioned in passing. Theres something that's happened in recent years that made people think it's safe to put anything and everything about yourself online without consequence.
Even before the mass adoption of social media a guy from Germany managed to track down and kill the admin of an Advanced Wars forum in the UK. The reason he did it was because he was obsessed with the admins girlfriend who he lived with and this was in the 00's. Look up eagle the lightning if you get a chance because the whole thing was wild.

A part of me thinks a part of it might be a weird kind of a flex, honestly. Warhammer hobbyists have a reputation, rightly or wrongly, for being fat, smelly, antisocial, dorky single men, and Guy wants to make it clear to everyone watching that he is not any of those things.

If I recall correctly, the police were able to find out it was him because the victim scrawled 'Eagle the Lightning' in his own blood on the side of his computer modem before dying. Gruesome stuff. Imagine being killed by someone with some Sonic the Hedgehog deviantArt OC bullshit for their screen name.

Yeah, the series are more or less hit or miss.

There's a new anthology series called the tithes.
But this is something that I'll look for in the near future. The prequel is as good as it gets.

Yeah, they did that an few years ago and the only great thing that came out from Warhammer+ was the series with the Blood Angels fighting genestealers.

I don't know why everyone keeps trying to make warhammer live action it doesn't work as a live action TV show just going to be patently expensive why can't everything just use hyper realistic animation it's much cheaper and you can get a lot more done a lot quicker

animation doesn't work for nomalfags besides kid's stuff, and amazon/GW want that normalfag game of thrones/walking dead money.

What's this about trying to make an live-action show? Every time that I hear something like it, it's usually turns out like an shitty exclusive for one of the streaming sites.

ZMOT got it spot on. As popular as the clone wars cartoon for star wars was, and even rebels to an extent, when the live action ahsoka show launched one of the biggest questions and complaints from the casual star wars fans who only watch the live action stuff and refuse to watch anything animated or read any books "who the hell are these characters?". The only reason the first season of mandalorian was as popular as it was, is because normal casual fans recognized "hey, that's one of those boba fett guys" and "oh cute a little baby yoda!"(which hilariously exposed a massive fail on disney's part for not having any merch ready to go for the show until it was done, while initial merch sales were grabbed up by basically bootlegs on amazon). The kenobi show casual fans recognize obiwan, and once a name was given to leia understood who that character was supposed to be. But the moment the inquisitors got involved "who are all of these knock off darth vaders?".

If you show a wannabe casual fan that there's a 55+ book series, followed up by a 9 book series, that also has a 20+ book side series, and that's just the 30k shit, people aren't going to bother.

That's been constantly talked about for well over a year now, and yes it's going to be an amazon prime thing if it ends up getting done.

I have an enduring fondness for the corny FMV cutscenes from Final Liberation. The costuming and even the Ork puppets have aged quite well, in my opinion. Sadly, this is probably the closest thing I will ever get to seeing a faithful live action 40K show. Not sure why the guy who posted the compilation felt the need to add his own crappy edits on the campaign screens.

What are this thread's posters' favorite and least favorite factions?

I probably find the Imperial Guard the most interesting due to the fact that they are ordinary men thrown in to absolutely bat shit scenarios and they are the natural choice for the POV faction. They are a great yard-stick faction. Visually I am still a lover of Tyranids but there is not much of narrative interest you can do with a swarm of hungry bugs sharing a single mind. Cutting up and building customized murder bugs was always fun though.

I really wished I liked the Sisters of Battle but for some reason they have never been able to peak my interest, which sucks because pissed off militant space nuns should be an easy sell. I think the problem I run in to with SOBs is that there was never much of a customization scene for them, of all the armies they always seemed the least friendly for personalization and customization.

the imperial guard in my favorite faction because no matter you can just make up whatever you want and create extremely customizable armies orc so kinda yeah you can create individual clans but they all kinda just look the same.
I do like some of the smaller factions that only have a few models from necro mundus really wish they'd bring back the Tyranids ambassadors
but I really don't play in tournaments because GW doesn't know how to balance anything so you just have one faction winning constantly until they decide to said nerf faction and then the cycle repeats itself.

Other than the eldar crap at the beginning of 10th, that's not how the game has been balanced for tournaments for most of 9th, and most of what we're into for 10th now. For all of the bitching some people(usually who rarely play) seem to do on dakkadakka, reddit, discord, youtube, etc. about GW actually updating the game regularly, those updates have been keeping it balanced.

Iron Hands but I haven't had an opportunity to build and table an army yet. Most of my life I played Da Boyz and they will always hold a special place in my heart. I also have a soft spot for Death Guard, and someday want to build some Carcharodons. My girlfriend has tabled a 5k point Imperial Fist army for years and they seem pretty great too, but I've never dabbled.

I generally really don't care because I haven't played a tournament since before COVID-19 so I'm not really interested in it that much make up my own rules.
Also I really don't like rules lawyers and GW has some of the most obnoxious rules lawyers.
I thought 5th edition was bad D&D
actually literally have every imperial guard unit well at least enough to make up the Siege of Vraks
which we're currently playing out of my friend's basement his wife's kinda angry because we took up the entire basement for the better part of a month but I'm definitely winning.
She stopped getting angry when she got into it so to recruit one of his sons.
I prefer my own private theatrical battles

wtf does D&D have to do with 40k tournaments?

Tournament rulings are handled by the TO or for large enough tournaments, the staff, not the player trying to argue with you, not to mention eats up time on the clock so if your opponent at a tournament is standing around arguing with the TO, request that the TO apply the time to that player, problem solved. No one has time for that shit when rounds are usually 3 hours.

Ok, I see you edited it quickly and added some more...

If you prefer narrative battles, that's perfectly fine. But there's no reason to just make shit up about tournaments and game balance.
