Yeah, but it felt like they just gave him that promotion as an consolation just to keep people silent about Titus (somehow) being immune to Warp bullshit. And the fact that he hates everyone equally enough to take on that job.
Its been 100 years since that event. Plenty of time for him to earn enough Blue Falcon points to be appointed to that job fair and square.

They do. The Word Bearers trilogy actually shows them doing a limited evacuation of a world in the sights of a Hive Fleet, before mercy-killing all the biomass left behind via bombardment.

Problem is, you can’t do that all the time, especially on key worlds that either sit in major systems, home worlds or forge worlds.

Good 40k fiction with the Tyranids will have them swarming a world the Imperium can’t destroy (Macragge) and then depicting to resulting metal war against locust-xenomorph-dinosaurs, as Space Marine 2 has done. Tyranids are much harder to fight than the Thousand Sons.
From what I've seen in the gameplay footage, the game captures a nid invasion perfectly. You can really get a sense of the sheer overwhelming numbers and hopelessness the average human must feel. It's nice that we finally have the game engine tech to pull that off.

The Thousand Sons are a more "conventional" 40k enemy because they'll just spam cultists, daemons and Tzaangors at you in between waves of Rubric Marines. Once they're banished to the Warp, the job's pretty much done.

Wondering whether to play ps5 or PC. Aiming will obviously be better on PC, but it's an action game and PC bugs tend to fuck you way harder than consoles. PS5 will probably work well enough with no issues.
I'm glad Salamanders get representation in the story but why is his armor blue?

Black marines are not contrary to lore. It's pretty pointless and self sabotaging to talk about.

No, I mean in terms of gameplay, Thousand Sons are much easier to fight. The Heldrake “boss” is nothing compared to the Tyranid Hive Tyrant.

The pvp mode for SM2 is below average. I think there's potential for them to add better modes of play but as it stands the balance is meh. Matchmaking isn't that quick, although voice chat is a thing surprisingly

You can die EXTREMELY quickly and the heavy gunner class is overpowered.
It honestly feels like a throwback to the forced PVP mode every Xbox 360 game had to have. Red Faction Guerrilla, War for Cybertron, etc. Probably not going to be the next big MP game but it's fun to play something where everyone isn't sliding and parkouring all over the place.

Starting the game on veteran almost made me drop it just a few missions in. The AI not being able to do any of the objectives just makes it complete dogshit solo.

This game is ack-shually not easy, which makes journoscum hate it with every single neuron (all 2) in their bodies.

I was a stupid dumb ape and paid for early access. Its pretty solid. It really feels like a game made in 2011, sick action, a (mostly) cohesive story that expands on the first, and, most importantly, its fun as fuck. PvP is early-2010s tier enjoyable. Theres a few bugs, make sure if youre on PC that you turn off steam overlay and cloud saves. Also if you enable crossplay at the very beginning when you first start the game itll install Epic Online Services, but that can be uninstalled no biggie.

Thanks 4 cumin 2 my t3d talk

It gets really bad when you have to defend points from the flying enemies. In my experience your going to need the plasma pistol for that.

Matchmaking is a bit rocky on ps5. Pve was cool and it was neat how story focused it is but it took me a while to get in. Disabling cross play helped. I just don't like the system of waiting on board the ship and waiting for another dude to load in.

guns are useful but this is very much a gun/sword game with parrys and dodges. Especially if your doing it on hard. You'll need a controller.
SM2 actually looks fun and I'm glad the Chaos enemies aren't just generic Chaos Undivided like in older games. They'll never make a game with Slaanesh worshippers as the main villain though.
Now that you mention it. They actually are an enemy type in rogue trader that you do face more then a few times. They don't go full R rated visually but I think they did a good job of threading the needle and making it apparent what they are through the text. It's been a while but that game has a good amount of gore and I remember being impressed with how gruesome the writing was.

Oh yeah now I remember lol there's an event that happens on board the ship every time you warp where some poor bastard dies or gets hurt and one random time there was a warp spawned orgy that was cleansed in flame by the tech priests. There's also another implied one you break up involving nobility on an imperial world.

Aaaand like clockwork, moment stupid video with Fem Custodes drops in, this wankstick is all over it.

In my incognito brower's recommend tab too, I know you have to clickbait or die but good lord. Well, at least more people are getting this information and it's fun to laugh at the retardation. I will forever stress how fucking retarded Fem Custodes is but at least people are still not entirely on board with it. I've yet to see much support for this beyond the usual suspects. I've even seen """women""" (whether they are actually women or abominations to nature is...well you know the golden rule regarding women in the internet, see image) denounce this change.

That guy is like the Tim Pool of Gamergate 2.0. Doctor Disaster is much better.

I admittedly haven't played it but after watching a few gameplay videos, it looks almost exactly like the original Space Marine. The melee combat is the same kind of slightly janky shit, the gunplay again seems to run into the problem midway through of enemies becoming bullet sponges, even the graphics seem washed-out and every character has "melting face" syndrome. And of course the plot being basically yet another bait and switch with Chaos coming in at the eleventh hour to hog the spotlight.

I pirated it and honestly it's worse than the first game, they bolted on whole bunch of modern mechanics like color coded dodges and parries and it just makes the game into a clunky mess whereas the first game was wonderful in its simplicity. There's also lots of things like not being able to animation cancel into parries and the weak bolters(on normal) and silly recoil making even the most basic gameplay actions such as shooting ranged nids a pain and it makes you wonder if the devs even really understand the genre they're making. Looking at other games they've developed I'm gonna say no. They also removed all weapon slots, you get to have 1(ONE) weapon and a pistol because even a two weapon limit was just too much.
I get it we've been getting nothing but Forspokens and Dustborns for years and finally we get a straight up shooter where a white guy shoots aliens in a setting you like. It's just not very good though.
Also some people seem to think it's not woke even though the first hour you constantly have a pajeeta captain screeching into your ear and every marine squad looks like a carefully curated group of Captain Planet kids. Oh sure it's not as bad as other things, but once again I'm not gonna put it on a pedestal for that.

Are we still coping it’s an Amazon mandate, or what? Didnt the black Templar larper make up a whole story about a rogue intern too?
There were two rumors / leaks. One that it was an Amazon mandate and it was approved by a group in GW that didn't run it by the lore team. One that an editor changed two pronouns in the codex without telling anyone and no one caught it. We'll never know the full story barring some sort of confirmed, "ADB loses it after being fired when they take away his Chaos Undivided Body Pillow collection" tier rant. Nothing that has been released so far has disproved -- or confirmed -- any of the rumors / leaks.

But as someone on twitter pointed out, once that sort of shit gets changed it ain't getting changed back, no matter how it's changed. It's a stupid thing, but, it does amuse me that as a bit of a troll they based the first Female Custodes on old Aryan propaganda posters. I would have figured they would have gone full progressive -- make her a black lesbian with a Jamaican accent who was fucking the sister of silence. Nah. She was just a Custodes who happened to be a chick. Works for me, I guess. Change still sucks but whatever, not like I paint faces anyway. Helmet crew 4 lyfe.

Combined with the fact most of the ranged weapons suck ass to use this is really painful. The bolter in SM1 was a dependable all-purpose gun that could take down weaker Orks with a few shots and soften up heavier ones, the storm bolter was a buzzsaw, the grenade launcher was great for mobs, the melta gun melted whatever was in front of it, and the plasma gun, stalker, and lascannon all had their uses. And the bolt pistol and plasma pistol were also solid backups that could hold their own when used skillfully.

Now in SM2 they're all just some form of over-tuned bolt weapon that has massive bloom and recoil or poor fire rate, and in the case of the standard bolt rifle it has both.

Oh, and the melee weapons were all far more deadly than in SM2. The chainsword was a solid all-rounder and the power axe was as devastating as you'd expect when wielded by a veteran, and the thunder hammer obliterated everything in its path. Meanwhile in SM2 you've got Tzaangors stopping thunder hammer blows with their bullshit shields.

Lets say I checked the game out with at a friend's place.

This is all true, and the controls are harder too. Parry and dodge is a mess, jetpack is ungainly, and it feels closer to Eternal Crusade than Space Marine 1. Executes don't restore health unless you do them right after you got damaged. Ammo is scarcer, and good luck against the Zoanthropes if you are a melee class. You can't hit them, and unless you got a sniper on your team, you are fucked. Just fucked.

My Blood Raven from Space Marine 1 would be able to solo these operations, Chaplain Reaper lied when he said you get stronger and faster. Quite the opposite.
