Guys i dont get it, why have female custodes when theres literally the Adeptus Sororitas and sisters of silence. There are also female inquisitors and Commisars hell they couldve instead just do an order/group of female commisars only and i would have been excited for it. Yet this dumbfucks want to appeal to the 41% faggots that probably dont play or dont care about the hobby/game.
It's not good enough for there to be equivalents. It's not good enough for there to be other characters that are badass women. The idea of a sex restricted faction in 40k is offensive to the sensibilities of the left and thus YOUR HOBBY and YOUR FICTION has to be changed to stop being offensive to them, becuase you are NOT allowed to disagree with them. You aren't allowed to have something in your subculture that doesn't adhere to the foundational principles of their ideology -- tabula rasa, blank slate, no one has talents or failings.

The toned down Lascannon sniper is once again a call back to the failed game Eternal Crusade, as it takes a good second to charge for firing. It isn't as total ass as it was in Eternal Crusade, but it has like 12 shots, aiming is a chore, and it is a downgrade from the Bolter Sniper in all but damage/ammo output, which is the same. But you can fire the bolter sniper instantly, and fire it more, so if you miss its not that big of a deal. There is no reason to take it when you got a more versatile gun that can do the same.
I quite liked it as it would put a rubric into red state with just one shot and I've played plenty of games with charge snipers like that so I didn't really find it to be a problem.
The Rubricae are better than the Warriors. They and the Gaunts are the most well designed from a gameplay perspective.
I'll say the game definitely improves when it switches to Thousand Sons for that reason, they're a lot less frustrating to fight and the wonky parry mechanics become slightly less prominent.

Also I gotta say this game does the power sword justice, especially when you realize it has 2 stances(you only find out about this in the pause menu as the game never tells you) and its delay attack will oneshot a rubric. Still is a shame that they didn't bring back the power axe though, but GW don't seem to want to give primaris axes and lightning claws, they're mostly just Chaos weapons now with a few exceptions.

Only tangentially related and a bit late but seriously, what in the everloving heck is GW doing when fucking Infinity is getting a proper animated TV show adaption before Warhammer 40,000?

Coming on the heels of the absolute shitshow that's been the production of the Amazon TV series with Cavill, this seriously feels like the universe just trolling 40K fans.

Knowing GW and Amazon, I hope that any 40k tv show will never see the light of day. They could borrow Disney's vault and shove warhammer + in there, nothing of value would be lost.

Youtube has Astartes and Space King.

I'm really digging the thousand sons look in SM2.

It looks to me whoever was in charge of the over all look of the game is definitely a 40K player as I can't see anything that looks out of place. Overall the look/feel of the game is rock solid.

First couple of missions are kinda short so far which is worrying. There are only 8 and it took me a bare 2 hours to get through the first 3. My guess is that just means some mission were made into DLC? That would be typical for the games industry, make you pay a shit tonne for half a game then sell you the rest piece by piece.

As to the Ciaphas Cain; if you like his books read the original series called The Flashman Papers which is the exact same characters just in the Napoleonic Wars period. They're actually really really good. Then go read the Sharpe's Rifles series cuz it's also really really good and set in the same time period. Then go watch the Sharpe's Rifles TV show cause it's also awesome, if a wee bit low budget. The last episode at Waterloo is great/terrible as many of your favourites characters bite the bullet

The pve missions are less cinematic campaign parts that add a few hours where you play the side missions to which Titus sends the other Primaris-es?

I read online that Saber is adding dlcs that are mostly cosmetic, as the studio is old style, but there was "demand" for early access. It can be a psyop or Focus suggesting they add it.

Most of the issues are code that can be patched, save for the reduced weapon count on Titus.

But you could take out all the gripes people have here by adjusting numbers, maybe the most work would be retooling the Plasma heavy to shoot straight. The rest you could alter in a day.

I really don't like the janky parry system in Space Marine 2. It feels like you have to be standing perfectly still and do literally nothing for the parries to actually trigger.

Maybe I'm missing something?

I'll argue they are just as "cinematic" but their cutscenes are way shorter and yes to the second question. I like them but their structure is kinda odd, it seems like Saber wanted a co-op party to alternate between the campaign and operations on their first run. Which dosen't help the already clumsy pacing to the campaign and it can give a bad impresion of the co-op for how drastic the difficulty fluctuates between both modes (Operations are way harder even on the easiest setting). Operations are way more replayable than people are giving them credit for. They are kinda like a Left 4 Dead campaign.

On PVE some classes have an easier time either parrying or dodging. There's types to the melee weapons that make the parry either easier or non-existent. The standard knife is ideal for it, chainsword and powersword are ok and with the hammer its imposible to pull a perfect parry. Check the weapon attributes cause the UI is kinda ass on this game tbh.

Another thing I wish they stole from halo is being able to hold multiple grenade types, of only so I have more to spam. Melta bombs are also useless, is meant to be a mine but you are never in a position to take plan out prepared defenses so in actuality you are dropping it at an enemy s feet and hoping they don't ruin our if the blast zone before you do. And after that it takes a second to detonate it is not on a hair trigger. Even though it's a melta bomb it doesn't do enough damage to kill anything other than adds and the explosion radius is smaller than a frag grenade which is designed to kill adds and doesn't have to be dropped and then hold the button to make it explode. I really don't know what they want me to do with the melta bomb that I can't do far far better with other grenades

Oh yeah let's break the nades down
1. Frag grenade. Acts like frag grenades in every other videogame. Self explanatory. Max Carry of 3
2. Krak grenade. These are sticky grenades, I think the intended use is to throw them at big bads. The game is very generous in how close you have to get your throw to the big bad for it to stick. Does okay damage on veteran. 2 stickies on a ts is almost enough to get them to staggered state. And you can only carry two.
3. Shock grenades. Explodes on contract and creates a very large field of electricity that doesn't hurt you but stunlocks enemies. Good for holding a group of big bads while you clear up a different mess.
4. Melta bombs. You only carry 1 and it sucks

Is anyone enjoying the PVP for Space Marine 2 btw? It's really fucking good. Last time I was enjoying a third person shooter this much was with Gears of War 3.

Space Marine 2 has EAC, but it doesn't matter actually.

I didn't do anything, this is just how the game tries to launch through steam, so I have to run the exe in the root/bin/pc folder to start the game at all.
Before I launched it the first time I deleted the epic folder, so it gives me this warning.

So I have the game launched without EAC, and without EGS, surely that means I can't do anything right?

No I can still join operations and PVP, you can even cheat in them because EAC isn't enabled.
Amazing.

So what's the deal with Titus and that Mechanicus artifact?
it still isn't explained. Maybe there will be a story dlc that explains it but the main campaign never explains the connection, which still exists. Titus suspects that is been brought back somehow because he nearly collapses in the presence of a strange box and that's as far as they go with it.

This is 40K. Youre going to have to be more specific about what you’re talking about because you can say the same thing about GW’s prices for simple plastic bits or vidya
It's also Anno Floydus 5 so you can whale out and spend enough money to get a (non-recast!) Forge World army on a single video game.
