That sequence where you have to activate generators while bombarded with Zoanthropes and Rippers did not feel as if it had been tested for single player at all. Had to drop the difficulty to grind through that.
Yeah the bots in single player/offline are atrocious. They don't do jack shit half the time, and when they do engage the enemies they do almost zero damage. It's really noticeable on the bosses and as you go up in difficulty with operstions. Also since the enemy AI is designed to go after player controlled characters, that means everything hard focuses on you. All the time.
Anyone put some decent time into playing a Heavy? I had an incredible match just now where my team kept melee off me consistently, and let me hoover up the ammo drops - in return I had massive kill and damage numbers. Smoothest run I've had so far.

Unfortunately every other time has seen me out of ammo, dodge rolling everywhere because of the lack of support. Lot of potential here but being *this* dependent on randoms has me concerned.
Heavy, if you don't have good teammates and/or are running solo(like me), is a fucking chore as you go up in difficulty. Which is pretty much the issue across the board with the game. So my advice is use the melta. Its the best weapon because it let's ignore pretty much all of the games janky ass mechanics and retarded balance choices. And even if you do have good teammates the melta is still the best because of its busted stagger/stunlock potential and hoarde clearing. Add in the heavies perks that give it ammo on kills and you're unstoppable. Sucks shit on bosses though.
The plasma incinerator is basically the same but more geared towards boss types.
So my advice is to either get used to being sweaty on ruthless(and above eventually), or use a cheese melta/plasma.

This is what I'm doing now. Just gonna cheese ruthless with Heavy Melta until I've got enough armory data to unlock the final weapon tiers and master them for my other classes. Then I'll go back down to substantial or even average where you actually feel appropriately powerful.

The cat people were FFG, and they, I hope, wanted something that's like a very hirsuite man with big saber cat teeth, not uwu catgirls.

Something like this minus the tail. Bonus point for the Space Wolf.

Abhumans with animal features can be neat, they just shouldn't cater to coomers wants.

Beastmen are a perfect example of this - they are disgusting mutants that smell like piss and most are barely intelligent. You should be offput by abhumans, not turned on.

Brothers, despite my faithful adherence to Total Nigger Death, I must confess an infatuation with the Vanguard class. First time I grappled through a pitched fire fight and punched a Sorcerer in his face, it was like discovering the Emperor all over again.

Forgive me, I have fallen into the Melta/Combat Knife pit. :(

You say this like /tg/ isn't going to turn whatever species of abhuman into a desirable sex object, regardless of your design principles.

I hate to tell you this, but beastmen being axe'd from AoS and banished back to "The Old World" set off a bunch of furry coomers whining about their favorite faction(that no one else played or bought anything for) due to GW "screwing them over" after not getting a new release for them in 15 years. Beastmen always catered to coomers.

People will sexualize literally anything, what matters is whether or not you cater to it.

Have they? I know a handful of Beastmen players, they're not like that at all.

Feign an interest in furry shit around them, they'll start talking about furry shit. Couldn't tell you if it's because they want to be the beast men, fuck the beast men, or whatever, but it's disgusting. It's worse than percentage of space wolf players who are furries.

The plasma is better now, its firing arc still sucks ass, its charged shots are worse than what the sm 1 plasma cannon does, but at least now if you charge it you can do real damage to clumped warriors. It is still an orky fuckfest to aim but at least it now does ok damage.

The melta is still better. Also I am in a bind, the game always puts me in with lag mwxed out 90% of the time, and I need green gear for moderate, purple for hard and ruthless I doubt I could do without gold. Problem is, hard drops purple, and ruthless gold unlocks.

Wish I could convert like 10 green tokens into a purple and 10 purple into a gold.

Its the same with female space marines/custodes. The second a female custode was confirmed I saw hundreds of "uwu muscle mommy" posts all over reddit. The faggot trannies screaming for this shit are all degenerate coomers that want their fetish to be the mainstream. The real womam feminist types dont give a fuck about warhammer, its exclusively trannies and coomers too deep into AGP. Its really irritating that being interested in autistic shit nowadays puts me in close contact with AGP freaks. I thank god I hate anime.

By allah if they introduce even one more 3" deepstrike rule I will behead the GW rules writers like the dogs they are (in Minecraft)

Seriously though stop with this shit.

Not really. Level up the melta rifle with the tactical or vanguard instead. Especially tactical so long as you're high enough level to start getting the bigger damage bonuses with your auspex from perks you can beat substantial no problem with a green melta rifle, get a purple data and then beat ruthless with a purple melta rifle. The class perks do a hell of a lot more for your than the weapons do(if you've got something green with strength 6, having a relic with strength 12 doesn't mean you're doing twice the damage). You won't have the same ROF with the melta rifle as the multi melta, but the fact that you don't need to be in heavy stance means you aren't moving at a fraction of your normal speed so it's easy to get out of the way of shit.

Another option, las fusil with the sniper. At that point you're only shooting at the heads of CSM or nid warriors with it anyway so the ammo count isn't a big deal. Or play more melee and apply it to the chainsword since you can use that with a bunch of the classes.

Take your extra purple armory data, apply it to a different class, go back and do the same with gold.

Thank you, but yeah that's the way it should be.

But with lag, I can barely beat secojd difficulty with purples.
When the game is feeling merciful amd teams me with other eurocucks, I can beat third difficulty with greens, unless I get the retard team ala Space King.

Does it not have regional match making? I though I remembered picking a region, but maybe not...

match making in SM2 is just fucking weird all around. It doesn't shuffle teams for pvp, so that's just a matter of getting onto a team of non retards and riding a win streak. the pve... for some insane reason the concept of "I have chosen to be a sniper, do not put me in a lobby with a sniper since you don't allow duplicates" is just foreign to the devs I guess. I shouldn't be surprised if the match making didn't have a region selection.

I think this is pretty dumb, personally. Kinda defeats the purpose of even having weapon tiers. Particularly when substantial and ruthless nerf your damage, health, armor and dodge/parry windows anyway, thus gimping a lot of the bonuses you get from perks.
Could have achieved the same result by just having more expansive weapon or class perk trees.

I've been thinking long and hard about this and I doubt I'm the first to say this but ya'll know how everybody says a bolt round is rocket propelled? Well you may have heard that a bolter is effectively a gyrojet style gun, and that's really cool considering its a really arcane munitions system from the Cold War, but the problem with that is gyrojets have like very little penetration up close because the rocket has to have time to spin. Gyrojets also have very little recoil because a rocket doesnt have recoil by default and that sucks because of course you want a fucking bolter to tear somebody's arm off if they tried to shoot it.

What I propose is therefore bolters must be some gyrojet/pin and cartridge hybrid. Maybe the gyrojet device is so it can operate in low gravity (the whole reason that technology was invented) but also still function to full capacity in close quarters, and still have fun recoil.

NVM, apparently all this shit is already canon. for whatever reason i thought it wasnt fully explained. I didnt think about the fact bolters eject shells, so its some kind of two stage munition.

Replaying the campaign to nab a few Dataslates, and man they really missed a trick by having no sort of progression carry over into multiplayer. The campaign is really enjoyable...that first time. Without the carrot of experience points and shiny cosmetics being dangled in front of me, it feels empty.

Also, a shout out to the legendary autist who noticed my Heavy was using Stormwatcher colours from Inquisition: Martyr. Given they're basically indistinguishable from Ultramarines, that is incredible dedication to tiny plastic men.

I get where you're coming from so I suggest one should remember this was all a bunch of stuff some nerds came up with in the 80's. If it sounded cool and looked cool that was good enough. The bolts as described by the canon lore would be rather awful munitions (unless they had access to some basically magic propellants), the chainswords would be damn ineffective swords, and the space marines ribs fusing into a solid plate means they'd no longer have anything resembling human respiration. And for all the advanced tech they have in the 41st millennium they're still using magazine fed projectile weapons?

You can't think about it too much. Just kill bugs and heretics. For the Emperor.

The Wiki says that standard bolter rounds are .75 caliber, or 3/4" in diameter, which would make them approximately the same width as a 12 gauge slug. I think of them like that, but with futurey explode-on-contact technology.

Probably future Fudd Heresy, but that's my frame of reference.
