That’s the heart of 40k I feel like which is how it spreads. I remember just being exposed to its fun absurd memes before I knew fully about it in the early days of my (honestly should’ve been more restricted) internet exposure as a kid. It’s absurd but most importantly it’s fun with friends. Every friend group can find something fun and relatable among peers to enjoy like the latest dumb Hollywood movie.
as dumb fun as it is, the thing that makes it all work tho is that it's honest at it's core. there's no post modern irony or le whacky hijinks - cultist-chan notwithstanding, the characters take the setting seriously (depending on the writer too seriously where it becomes grimderp).
now add that it the depicts everything woketards tried for years to demonize: masculinity, brotherhood, fighting for a cause (with plot armor), pretty much all the things they consider fascist.

Can you elaborate? I haven't looked into it, I just like the art and concept.
I mean crusades and a jump to WW1 industrialism is a huge stretch for alt history all things considered. Especially where there’s so much of the world that needs to be filled in and explained when the story revolves around literal hell opening up and all surrounding nations basically focus efforts on sending their guys to the front to stop it from pouring out further. The art is cool yeah but there’s not much substance to it, especially when there’s no rules about actually fighting in trenches in a game called Trench Crusade.

Compare that to 40k where you can just handwave a lot of the lore with “daot” or “men of iron” or “unification wars”. It’s just shallow in comparison while everyone says it’s a “40k killer”. Honestly should’ve launched with a RPG book and a few supplemental book series. But as it stands and all the issues surrounding it it’s dead in the water. Conflict 47 from Bolt Action is a better alt history game because it’s just mysticism opens up during WW2 (and iirc there’s also a book series coming too)

At this point you'd have to be completely clueless or a furry yourself if you put anything anthropomorphic in your work, that attracts furfags like moths to a flame.
To be fair, it was something like 8 years ago. But yeah...

40K fans on Twitter outnumber the total number of people who have heard of Trench Crusade in the entire global populace, and the TC folks drew in some of the online 40K crowd and they and a lot of Trench Crusade "fans" then drove a lot of them off by being obnoxious, overbearing buffoons. Plus a lot of the art, even though it's mostly painted by one guy, has the look of AI generation about it.

I agree with everything but the AI part. Absolutely not, though:

Which is dumb. They could have said Hell came pouring out on the eve of the first World War. Europe was still largely Christian during that time, and it would have made worldbuilding all that much easier.

The general idea is cool though, and I see no reason why a group that isn't made up of troons and raging liberal faggots couldn't "steal" it and make something good out of it.

What I notice in both 40k and TC is that liberals simply are incapable of channeling the religious zeal that would exist in the Imperium, or Europe under attack from the legions of Hell, and this cheapens the experience by extension.

I think the only writer that almost got it right was Christ Wraight in his Vaults of Terra trilogy, where the inquisitor main character becomes a "born again" believer after years of cynicism.

Is this why everyone hates trench crusade? Someone on twitter said "like 40K but no chuds"?
Doesn't really make me interested in the game, or its setting mind you.

I built a Lucius

It’s not 1:1 but I sure as hell got closer to the original design than the slop that’s his update. Gotta make some caps for the combat stimms and clean him up a bit but I’m pretty happy. I kept his “skin cloth with Slaanesh glyph” bit and moved it to his back, giving him a Dark Eldar loincloth instead.

Base model is a new possessed, arms are Allarus Custodes, head is from the new chosen and the idea behind this model is he’s standing in the gore of a fresh respawn, like that described in the short, “In Wolf’s Clothing,” the cloth with purity seals is a hint as to what he just was a second ago.

The Laer Blade I went smaller and more mundane, it’s literally different in every artwork and depiction, so I went with its look in the primary inspiration art.

Which is what this is. This is how I’m gonna paint him and this was the inspiration for this take on chucklefuck.

I really was going to pick these up, but Army Painter really pissed me off by making the boxes 49.99$ or there abouts so the order is 2 cents under where theyll ship for free. Its not even that I dont want other army painter products, its just the fucking audacity of these niggers. Just make it 50$. In fact, give me one of those gay "round up for donation" screens where I can drop 2 cents on CEO Shekelburg's Yacht foundation, I literally do not give a shit. It felt like either a massive oversight or deliberate jewry to extort me for another dollar, or to pay 20$ in shipping.

Small gripes, I know, but it just really rubbed me the wrong way. Ill spend $100 on something else, thank you very much.

That is annoying as hell, yeah. Maybe snag a brush or bottle of varnish or something? There's gotta be something worth about $2...

I'd do the math myself, but the Blanch Masterclass boxes are both 404 not found on their store now. The fuck.

But a quick peek, they added an Outlet, so...

There ya go. $1.88 for a nice offwhite. That should bump it to $100-ish. At least it would, if you could still buy them.
