as dumb fun as it is, the thing that makes it all work tho is that it's honest at it's core. there's no post modern irony or le whacky hijinks - cultist-chan notwithstanding, the characters take the setting seriously (depending on the writer too seriously where it becomes grimderp).That’s the heart of 40k I feel like which is how it spreads. I remember just being exposed to its fun absurd memes before I knew fully about it in the early days of my (honestly should’ve been more restricted) internet exposure as a kid. It’s absurd but most importantly it’s fun with friends. Every friend group can find something fun and relatable among peers to enjoy like the latest dumb Hollywood movie.
now add that it the depicts everything woketards tried for years to demonize: masculinity, brotherhood, fighting for a cause (with plot armor), pretty much all the things they consider fascist.
