I think the distinction is that tactics are fine, but he hates someone who isn't willing to put themself on the line. Khorne may outmaneuver you, fight with advantage, and attack weaker targets, but Tzeentch wont even be on the battlefield. He wont even be on the planet. Or is he? He'll have agents do his dirty work for him, or fight in such a way that there isn't even a battle. Tzeentch might conquer a planet by making it a puppet state, or poisoning your water. He'll do anything but actually get into a real fight which is bullshit. If your hand wasn't the one holding the blade it doesn't count.Khorne hates magic and Tzeench because Slaanesh didn't exist at first, which is why it's odd for the god of war to hate TWO different aspects of chaos, and at the same time represent war and yet abhor cunning tactics (well, he doesn't exactly abhor them, but most Khornate followers inevitably become berserkers).
The Emperor was an iconoclast though. An iconoclast is anyone who wants to destroy tradition or the old ways. He's tearing down statues to old religions and telling everyone it's fake and gay. Independent systems or federated planets? Nah fuck that we're painting the map gold. The interex have a long standing mutual respect and cooperation with an allied alien species? Not any more.OP was even in the comments talking about how they thought the Emperor would be an iconoclast, "work with the xenos and the warp and everything will be okay" type.
