I mean, SM2 gets old really fast. I clocked out after about about 150 hours because it got so repetitive. The campaign was also wayyyy to short for my liking.
I agree. I haven't played SM2 in months at this point. The campaign was fun, but too short, and the PvP is no where near as fun and balanced as the OG game.

Another problem I have with the PvP multiplayer is the severe lack of maps and game modes. That severely hampered SM1 too. I want CTF dammit!

Well then. At least now we know what's in the HH 3.0 box

I wonder what GW has to say about that considering they've posted that horushearsay website they update every couple of days and had a big reveal scheduled for the Dallas Open?

Oh they're mad lol. I guess everything else that wasn't HH 3.0 is just going to get dumped to warcom

Plastic Mark II, fucking finally. Gimme three boxes.

I was holding off on adding more on my heresy white scars for new mk II which is pretty cool im gonna need 2 boxes too. The chunky stuff looks to have people split between rogue trader diehards and just angry grogs who are agasint it. Are we sure its a full edition or not just a refresh I keep seeing mixed info from people trying to read the text because it looks like it will only include the rules for age of darkness which is the current version.

I put my glasses on and nope its a full on third edition...interesting

Its very very cool, but I doubt I'll buy it. I'm a fan of the Inquisition through and through and we didn't exist in 30k... outside of Garro and a handful of others. sorta.

What's all this? Some random guy broke into GW headquarters and stole some boxes? And now he's hosting a game night on thursday?

GW sending them out to influencers/painters or maybe even just stores so they can get them built in advance, go through the rules etc. The generally do both of those when edition launches for their games, just most of the time people don't photograph them in their car 2 weeks before the big reveal show that was scheduled.

So now James Workshop is angry and cancelled the preview show to replace it with some bullshit no one cares about.

Similar things happened when Magnus for 40k was leaked because someone found the box in a trash can early. A potato cam photo of a picture of 40k Angron from the back of a box. GW being pissy with their warcom articles after the Dante update got leaked(that one just seemed like an op though, the warehouse just happened to only ship one early on accident and to a known good painter?), and many other instances over the years.

My Salamander friend is about to have a very good time.

Those praetors are gonna be fun conversion fodder, just like last time, one is fairly legion agnostic and one is just mini-Vulkan.

Odds are if an imperial citizen knows more than just that "the ruinous powers" exist, they're probably already in service to chaos if they aren't in one of the above groups(or they're a sanctioned psyker, or ranking admech member, or heavily involved in government or some other kind of nobility). It's the entire basis of the problem with the emperor keeping it vague and mostly unexplained in the first place, to show that people can easily be led astray without even having to be influenced directly by an agent of the ruinous powers in the first place, and thus faith in the emperor is required at all times.
The ghost novel showed that almost everyone knows what chaos is. Who has to interact with it, screwing the walls up all. of the ghosts know what chaos is and what it does to planets. None of them were shot.
Ciaphas Cain. and the Valhallans. Run into a bunch of chaos war bands.
People get too much from the Rpgs. and don't actually read the books. Chaos is probably not known on the more backwater walls in the Imperial worlds. but pretty much everyone in the guard would know what chaos is to an extent. as well as a bunch of other alien species.

What in the HH line works well in 40k?

I have read that some beaky boys can be used for bits (my EC may get beaks if i feel rich) and 30k Rhinos are better maybe?

Is there much else that seemlessly slides into 40k without batting an eyelid?

As with almost everything with 40k, the lore can change book to book. Some have regular citizens having no idea, some have an informed population, this goes for the guard too.

A common theme is the guard having a vague idea of Chaos; in Henry Tzu books they call Chaos the "Archenemy", im Fehervari books they usually call Chaos touched phenomena "tainted" or "unclean", the Moebian regiments in Darktide literally call it the "Darktide" and it's kept a secret from the population beyond that.

The Moebian 6th eventually cracked after realising the truth of the "Darktide" and turned to Nurgle. There are so many casew of this exact thing happening in the lore that it's probably prudent to keep Chaos a secret unless there is absolutely no other choice, people criticise E-money for his secrecy regarding Chaos but I've always felt he meant well by it.

No whoever posted this on facebook market place also has multiple copies and has more than one listing....this aint a usual review copy leak. I think the guy stole the boxes.

Curious what opinion were on Chaos Gate Daemonhunters? Im a Grey Knight fan, so Im biased, but I loved it. Still play it every few months. Classes were distinct and powerful, enemies were tough but not frustrating, and the story was surprisingly moving at the end.

Im kind of split on the new heresy edition, I understand the issues and complaints agasint it....but you also cant deny it brings hype and tends to also come with a massive launch of other new minis. Although I do not know how people WAITED 3 years for some updates that are arguably weapon swaps or easy 3D prints like Recon Marines or Breachers. I made a Recon Squad by finding a sniper bolter STL and painted them differently

Awareness of Chaos/witchcraft/heresy is common knowledge as part of the faith

The Traitor Legions, half the Imperium going insane (and still being out there) and all that jazz is highly covered up outside the essentials (BOY YOU’RE FIGHTING SPACE MARINES TODAY SON, YOUR’RE IN THE SHIT NOW) is not readily available information.

Some backwaters haven’t even seen one, Lord of Excess showed that perfectly, even the ruling class had no idea that a “chapter” called the “Emperor’s Children” was in-fact not a bunch of heroic angels.

IG aren't normal imperial citizens. You're also talking about named characters in 40k books who especially aren't normal imperial citizens, they may as well be superheroes especially considering Cain and Jurgen have taken down necrons(multiple times), CSM, and even daemons without issue. Even then what you're forgetting is most of the valhallans on the scene when Cain fought the world eater had already been killed, I'm not sure what you're talking about the RPGs for, because I was specifically referring to the books considering my mention of the necrons being a secret of the order xenos still based on the conversations between Cain and Vail. Additionally, being aware that the ruinous powers, archenemy, etc. exists is not the same as knowing much else about it like how many gods there are, that there even are gods, their names, anything about traitor space marines(most imperial citizenry will never see a loyalist space marine, let alone a traitor), etc.

Practically nothing. With HH 2.0 it was all available and then GW immediately sent it all to legends when 10th came out. What people usually do is use the various armor patterns, praetors, and stuff like that for CSM, tactical marines, and kitbashing into characters. The deimos pattern rhino works as a modern replacement because the dimensions are basically the same as the normal 40k rhino kit. But the rest of the tanks, dreadnoughts, and so on, are too far off to even proxy.

Ah so that was the source. I saw it mentioned elsewhere as well a few minutes ago and probably fits with some asshole following a courier and stealing boxes or tossing them out of the back of their own truck.
