I've seen necromunda games at my flgs but there are easily more folks into Killteam at the moment.

And he’s annoying the shit out of his own sons and the Templars.
 
Corax coming back would be interesting, model could be him forming from ravens, as he's described doing when fighting Lorgar in the short, special ability for tabletop. Not sure what wargear he'd get from the Emperor, probably lightening claws though they could always come up with something different.

That would actually be pretty cool but knowing GW it will be the single static model that's available to IF and successor chapters but clearly designed to synergise most with Black Templars because the Imperial Fists aren't allowed anything cool.

Dorn is different. He was already kinda 'grown up' in 30k with this bubbling rage kept in check (by his autism). However much I want to see him leading IF, he is much more likely to be given Emps claws (replace his hand) and unleashed on the galaxy with BT.

If GW are smart, they'll make him eligible for IF and BT, maybe even a dual build kit.

Yeah, this was exactly my reckoning too which is quite a shame - the claws for his missing hand and him throwing his weight behind the Black Templars.

I'd *love* for him to come back and be aligned with IF, it's one of the few things that would get me wanting to play Space Marines, but I just can't see it happening because GW likes money too much.

As it stands I just can't shake the feeling that playing any other codex compliant chapter than Ultramarines just means you're gimping yourself, most of them don't have a roster of strong characters to lead them along, never mind a Primarch, and most of the special detachment rules are just plain bad.

I don't like many chapters to begin with but as far as non-codex compliant chapters go I don't *dislike* Blood Angels or Space Wolves but I struggle to get over how much the Space Wolves stuff is leaning into the 'wolf' side of things rather than viking side of things, it's a bit weird.
 
I know I’m a bit behind, but I don’t believe the Ferrus leaks. The LotD profile covering it is definitely shopped on top of it IMO, and if someone had the real profile they’d post the full thing. Fully willing to eat crow on this though, had to with the original primaris leaks years ago.
But if it is real, 1+ leadership is hilarious. What use would that even be, there aren’t that many leadership debuffs. And if you want to make them super duper brave, just give them auto-pass morale or something. Just seems dumb.

Also the primarch release to generate the most seething would be a Guilliman update.

The obvious bullshit is the LD 1+. Trajan Valoris, The Lion, and Guilliman have a 5+. A 1+ would mean you'd never fail a battleshock test even with a -1 modifier applied. It's just laughably stupid.

How do we know that hasn't already happened? I remember a story someone mentioned that had some Great Rift era shenanigans for the Alpha Legion and none of them had any idea which side they were fighting for or why or what their ultimate goals were.
 
Do the demon primarchs even qualify for returning? They never really left the setting.

We know where Lorgar and Perturabo are (in their rooms, hiding from Corax/worshipping devils and playing with Legos, respectively). Perty even made an appearance in a limited edition of the IW omnibus, where he plays 40k with Honsou.
 
I read Ferrus’s primarch novel, apart from Guymer being a bad writer and him following the trend of a midwit not being able to write a superhuman, everyone except Ferrus was good. The bullied Ultramarine, the cancer-riddled TS sorceror, the Terran IH, seething Gabriel and the Doctor House knockoff in the human cast.

In particular was the reveal that the EC’s pilots are just the guys from Top Gun. Astartes pilots are rarely given spotlight but these guys were hilarious, using blatantly sexual language to try and help and IH pilot handle an EC interceptor.

The war games with the EC and IH were funny as well, Ferrus comes off like an NFL coach more than a primarch at times and in his own monologue, reveals the IH are by design hard to rally and get turned in the right direction. There’s even a bit when the EC are shocked at the modifications the IH inflict on their mortal crew.

I think so. Even if they’re still around in the settings, “returning” imo means actually getting up and doing stuff in real space.

After all, we knew where both Bobby G and the Lion were before they came back (in stasis, supposedly healing according to pilgrims/in the rock being a sleepy boy because the watchers forgot to set his alarm clock )
 
Legion of The Damned are weird to me. They seem like something that works better as an in-universe ghost story. Like an urban legend among the Astartes.

There's also a lot of fun shenanigans around the Battle of Eskrador that could easily be twisted in favor of Omegon surviving, but it's extremely unlikely. The Twins, as fun as they can be, really don't bring much to the table. No pun intended. But I guess the same could be said for a lot of other Primarchs so.

That would be the best thing to do with them going forward. Unfortunately GW made the mistake of giving them models and then a codex in 6th edition(the one that was such a mess they rushed 7th out the door, and that one turned out even worse) and GW fans are incapable of giving shit up and moving on.
 
I need a new read. I started Elemental Council but the first couple chapters honestly killed my interest. I might try again another time. I'm sitting on audible credits though and I need some recommendations to listen on my drive to and from work. I'm too indecisive.
