Edit: I am a bit annoyed with him constantly shilling his own videos and his belief he is an "expert" in lore, but he's doing a good thing by exposing a lot of these hacks as being grifting anti-fans that are only in it for the easy money and those who seemingly desire progressive nonsense being crammed into the lore for the sole purpose of progressive nonsense. Hell, some even seem to only want to destroy the lore just to spite OG fans. "Haha, female space marines! How's that make you feel, chuddy?"

My dumbass just realized the marine on the cover of "Legion" is supposed to be Ingo Pech. I guess that should be obvious from how decorated he is for an Alpha Legionarie, and how he's one of the few important ones in the story, but still.
Also purple/green as one of the Alpha's established schemes is so fuckin weird. Looks nice but it's weird. I hardly ever see it used.

I like Departmento Loretorum. Mainly because his lore videos are exactly what I want. Creativity based. "Here's some chapters that might give you ideas for your guys, or even just have a cool scheme.". No padding either.

Arbitor Ian is ...okay. Blurring art in old videos if the artist is "a nazi" and having a podcast of troons is bad. But at least he's got a good voice and knows when to summarize. I don't need an 8 hour video about the siege of vraks detailing every errant fart and the beans that caused it.

Those matched animations are great. Looks like a true successor to DoW1
It's brave move going with the cogboyz instead of the far more established Panzies or Spiky Gitz, The campaigns are one after the other like WC3, so maybe the overarching plot will make use of their contrast with the necrons.
That and maybe they're super optimistic about Mechanicus II succeeding.

That just reminds of the funny implication that Alpha Legion infiltrators in the really fucked up legions got just as corrupted as everyone else and that’s probably how Chaos got it’s hooks in the CIA legion.

The only good Loreslop is the autistic Vraks series, Invicta sometimes, and Wizards and Warriors.
Even then its only because its an actual summary of events told in entertaining ways with decent artwork instead of rejected VAs trying their best to do gruff voice #39 really badly when reading the only good parts of shitty books or wiki entries
 
I only half get lore videos. It feels like audio books could scratch the background noise itch without the telephone game of a complete fucking faggot trying to inject retarded memes and jokes into the material. Isnt the point of a hobby with a lot of lore to actually read and or listen to that lore? And if you cant even do that, why even bother? Just seems silly to me.

Indeed. If you're going to be listening to some 10+ hour playlist of one specific topic for some shit in 40k, may as well listen to the actual audiobooks instead of some random retard's interpretation of events(or worse, fanfic in the case of this italian channel that was mentioned). I can understand wanting to know about a faction in general and listening to a summary video to decide if you want to go grab some audiobooks from the bay or whatever, but most of these channels and videos are fucking dumb.

They then will spend making hours long videos "explaining" the new lore or make theories about why everyone in the setting is stupid because bad writing can never be a cause of it for some reason.

Not to mention he also thinks the Imperium is just as bad, if not worse than the Forces of Chaos. Because there's a lot of it, and I don't care, and some of it is scattered around books that are out of print and hard to find.

The Badab War might be spread across old White Dwarf and Imperial Armour books. Plus each chapter has their own lore and backstory. Not 100% sure.

Horus Heresy is, iirc, 64 books long? It's something like that, but if you want to know the gist of who the primarchs are and the key events like the dropsite massacre.

Maybe I want to know more about Krieg than reddit memes about shovels, but also don't want to read a whole novel just to get what they're all about.
