Excellent work brothers, resist the secondary, hate the secondary, kill the secondary. The cultural parasite wants your hate blinded and wasted on their hollow lies. It is a bait most foul, for the soul, distracting you from the craft. Hone it, focus it, like our autism it is both a gift and a weakness if left unwrangled.

Resist brothers, resist the redditor, resist the brood of fake and gay youtubers, resist the /tg/ troll and remember that ours is the finest 40k discourse on the entirety of the Internet, we are and always have been without equal

It wasn’t even the furry this time.

Now, to cleanse the palate of our souls, discuss your projects, crusades and are any of you getting the dreaded “New Year’s” plans ready? I myself painted thirty cultists and had to ice my hands.

I need a plugin to filter out the word "grifter" online. It's like the chudly version of calling someone a nazi.
When it's a tourist(at best) spouting bullshit for clicks/views, they're a grifter. Same goes for spikey bits. Faggotry from either end of the spectrum isn't needed and shouldn't be tolerated. Speaking of spectrum

LOL. I'd rather have a world eaters player doing push ups, shadowboxing, and refusing to say their name to not grant power over them, etc. than the 5,000th time I've heard an ork player shout WAGH because they can't come up with anything else orky to say. For fucks sake at a minimum at least call your opponent a git or something. Also that statement makes Arbitor Ian seem like a faggot. "pretending to actually fistfight at the table" As long as you're not waving your arms around in my face or risking knocking models over who gives a shit? Upset that some testosterone might land across the table and make this bitch of an opponent grow the fuck up?

Burn the redditor faggot who wants to change shit. Kill the illiterate nigger who relies on lore slop videos. Purge the secondary tourist that grifts.

At some point I just want to see what happens if GW actually does announce female SM, and by that I mean they drop a single paragraph in like, the space wolves 11th edition codex, and then never mention it again just to watch these fat faggots react to it. The absolute cope and seethe would be insane and I think worth the price of GW fucking up their own lore for the 1000th time.

Women have a roll in the Imperium and its thr sisters (yes, guard and sos but thats not the point)

Sisters are unique and cool. You dont have to fuck up space marines when you have something WAY better right fucking there.

Also this is clearly just that part of the cycle where GW are accused of turning everything gay.

Well guess Im one of those rare people who does do an ork voice while playn against others.

I can’t even understand giving a shit about some dude shadowboxing given all the horror tales of spergary in this hobby and table top gaming as a whole. It reeks of newfagotry who doesn’t know how bad things can be.

I’d sooner take on a whole legion of Gitguds before dealing with the stereotypical autistic WAACfag neckbeard . Or god forbid, the irl death guard that are stereotypical MTG players.

GW adding female space marines only to never make models for them and never mention them again because they forget to like all their female ranges (e.g. SoB for years, SoS) would actually be hilarious. Just piss everyone off. The sheer salt would probably form a new chaos god.

Nothing will happen. Consoomers will keep on consooming. The usual people like Arrrrrrch will complain. GW have been buckbreaking their fans for too long for anything to change. Much like MtG is the most pozzed card game out there now and yet everyone's still playing it.
Just look at places like reddit and /tg/ to see what the average fan is like, you bring up GW shenanigans and they sperg out, even here some people get upset and tell you to go to the containment thread instead.

Is there a place to get the old start collecting space marines (the firstborn one) thats not like 200 bucks. Or am I better off building it from recasters?
(Since there was no answer)
That specific box? I assume recasters? I've never used or even looked into recasts. A friend of a friend is buying a 3D printer, so I'm hoping to grab some 3rd edition terrain sprue prints from him if possible.

Related. Is there a site that details the prices and contents of old boxes?

As for collecting firstborn. Your best bet might be Horus Heresy. Not the answer you really want, but it's the best I've got.

Let me know what you find as I'd like the old tactical squads and devastator squads.

I have a soft spot for AoS too. Not a fan of some of the more grimdark elements, but someone in the thread (I forget who) said it best. It feels like a game the designers give a shit about.

It could be because I don't know it as well, but in AoS, almost every faction is cool. It's telling that in 40k I can list favourites, but for AoS it's easier to list the ones that suck. Even within a faction, it feels like there's fewer duds. Yeah, a bunch of stormcast are samey. But there's nothing on the level of those goofy marine ATVs.

I've also never interacted with the AoS community, so I have no idea if they're as angry and autistic as the 40k community. Hell, I even see YouTubers mention that people actually play Spearhead. I don't believe them because they're shills, but interesting if true.

And every time I walk into a GW the AoS models call to me like a siren. I want all of them, then I see the price and nope out. I've even put serious thought into their killteam-like and taking it to board game club, but it being a trading card game puts me off.

Underworlds is its own thing. Their KT equivalent was Warcry before they killed it(although they updated it for the chaos dwarfs last month after nothing for a year) and people liked it because it actually played in 60-90 minutes and wasn't Underworlds that no one gave a shit about.

Couldn't tell you about the AoS community as a whole, but spearhead definitely does get some play. At least locally it seems to get more play than AoS itself(as far as pickup games in stores and such) and I've heard the same from some close friends that have moved elsewhere in the US as well including including a couple that play it(spearhead) fairly regularly. Why it seems so popular, I've got no idea other than people telling me they "like the format" and it does at least seem more balanced than Combat Patrol that no one gives a shit about.

It appears to me spearhead works because its an army in a box thats balanced roughly with other spearheads.

No thinking about lists, no super strong armies, no need to expand to a full army (but if you do, its a good start).

Combat Patrol is its own format but is just a better value box at this stage

I cant believe people act autistic when playing the autism game I also play.
I remember in third when anyone said "dark eldar" the rest of the shop would shout "Spikey bits!". Good times.

Women have a roll in the Imperium and its thr sisters (yes, guard and sos but thats not the point)
I had to wait for Wargames Atlantic to get female guard. Even then I regret it because that kit is a bit shit. Supposedly it's a common problem with female kits. The boobs get in the way.

And I stand by GW trying to push that in 11th.

It would actually be pretty funny if they were treated the same way as the felinids and never shown.

I think probably one of the best(and rarest) endorsements of aos is that a youtuber called the outer circle(im sure some folks here know about him) actually collects 3 armies for aos despite being possibly one of the biggest critcs of GW. For the longest time he was on the warhammer fantasy side of the aos v fantasy war in first edition, but then when the nighthaunt dropped he bought into it even though initially he was like "I would but age of sigmar just isnt my kind of game". He's since gotten maggotkin and slaanesh(which he also almost univerally praised, which is very strange for him). Basically it comes down to I think its like you said gw gives a shit about the game. Really I would argue all of the games outside of 40k have some level of passion behind them. Its unfortunate that 40k has kind of lost that, but im coming to terms with that being almost inevitable due to the mass appeal it seems to be getting. After all the other science fiction and fantasy universes got decimated by woke culture I dont think there was really anything that could have stopped the crowds from being drawn to a seting that at least maintains somewhat of a semblence to its amazing past universe, even if on our side its a shell of its former self. Compared to almost every other ip, 40k still has a soul, because even 10% of a soul is more than 0%.

Warning - Autistic Transmission incoming - Prepare Cogitator appropriately

There should be a middle ground game system between Kill Team and 10th (the latter being designed with 2k in mind). Something that captures the smell of 2e and 3e with crunchy-ish system rules and that encourages conversions for war-gear but still shaves off the more irrelevant choices like whether or not your cultist is equipped with a crude sword or crude axe. Something that is'nt 2e//3e but takes inspiration from it and from lists drawn up for old battle reports.

I would enjoy a system with modern sensibilities for gameplay that can count on the army not exceeding a certain size. Something that encourages infantry squads, and prevents parking lots//death stars outside of some flavorful options for armies like Deldar in transports or a couple tanks for guard that isn't "Oops all armored company haha sorry".

Something aimed for what a 1250 list would be but with hard unit limitations (only one heavy support vehicle // dreadnought per army. Only one captain "Force Commander" equivalent with optional vizier//lieutenant//2nd in command ). Proper psychic phase, Weapons being disabled on vehicles when they take damage and maybe some homage to the old penetration table with AVs and lower "wounds"//hull points.

I want to collect a lot of different factions.
I do not want 2k points worth of infantry and vehicles for each of those factions (I already have a huge collection of chaos and orks for 2k games).
I want to supplement purchases I made for killteam into small forces in a system that is actually interesting to play.

>"Go play 2e"
I want to use the current models and units on current base sizes, and I dont want to argue with some retard over what his pie plate blast is or isnt hitting.
>"Go play HH"
I want to collect some HH eventually but as I understand the system is designed for 3k at peak performance, that's a lot of shit.
>"Make your own Homebrew"
I lack the authority, autism, and willpower to do anything more than draw up concepts in a google doc like a 7 year old with crayons crafting his dragon ball Z OC. I dont want to subject some poor bastard to playtesting it with me either.

Elements I like about the modern system which should stay
- Every unit having unique rules: it just needs to be shaved down to 1 rule per unit for the sake of brevity. If a unit can serve multiple jobs make it a slot based system where you choosce someting to be in that slot for a specific purpose (it annoys me that a unit like chaos legionaires in 10th is defined by the fact that it has a reroll to wound ability in melee which on the surface makes any ranged builds sub-optimal, what if I want to go bolter bros? I get that dark pacts make space for it but its going againsit what the unit wants to do). Thats my tastes though, I'm sure that's too videogamey for some people.

- Some Wargear is interchangably irrelevant: Crude weapons can stay generic and in their own category, Bladed power weapons can stay generic and in their own category, middle ground weapons like choppas and chainsword etc etc. Modeling the entire squad to match can be fun but that mechanical variance is borderline irrelevant. I didnt like it in 6th edition when they made sword/mauls/axes unique and I still dont like it now.

- Consice Stratagems: Keyword out a couple of them like armor of contempt or make them core, other than that I do like what they add to the game

- Anti planet bowling ball: L shape ruin spam is soulless yes, I agree, I hate it too. But I at least acknowledge that terrain matters for good gameplay. I dont want cookie cutter layouts, I dont want extreme city fight autism either because thats more appropriate for Killteam. Maybe just make the game less lethal so you dont need extremely dense terrain, but complete open felt green fields does not excite me and feels like it belongs in a rank and flank system like old world.

Elements I do not like that can leave
- Why is most wargear a wet fart: Powerfists, meltaguns, everything that isn't a lascannon feels like absolutle dogshit and is only enabled by specific units because the UNIT ITSELF has a rule which helps the wargear do the job its SUPPOSED TO DO IN THE FIRST PLACE. This is more a casualty from making them cost no points so they all had to become pillowfisted - this disgusts me. If you're gonna make something like Powerfists or Thunderhammers free, dont gut the damage or impact, just force fights last unto the model using it to emulate the old iniative 1 penalty. Or better yet just stop with the free wargear autism outside of specific cases where its a sidegrade anyway. Wargear by itself being anemic also takes a fat crap on tactical squad style units by virtue of NEEDING rules on the unit that support it and lack of weapon density when only one dude is carrying the equipment. Give a home to all these killteam models that graduate out of the system but still do not fit into 10th style gameplay.

- Dial back the variant unit entries: A million entries for slight wargear differences is dumb, use the slot system I described above instead, or put those special rules on the wargear itself, just cut the bloat it's embarassing.

-PPM: List building is 87% of the fun of the game, this megablock//duplo version fucking sucks. Enhancements are cool but are just wargear//relics//warlord traits of olde by different means. We live in a modern age with list building software being standard, you dont need it to be this clunky, I dont care if this creates pot holes for new players to fall into when they build a stupid loadout for their unit that is "more toys than boyz".

- Too many chiefs not enough indians I prefered when the game didnt actively encourage you to run 3x Boss HQ equivs, yes the meta choice in some editions was still hero hammer but the game system doesnt need to give you any additional reasons to do it, 1 dude with an aura affecting 3 units is vastly superior asthetically to 3 dudes in each unit which all do the same job. Who's in charge here?

-Whatever this sorry excuse for psychic powers is : Listen, I get it, not all mind bullets are special and unique enough to be anything more than a special type of gun, okay fine. But there was still a lot thrown out with the bath water here. "But what if I cant contest the enemies psychic powers because my faction has no psykers?" you ask, just make up some bullshit about your Black Templar Marshal still gets to make deny rolls off sheer force of will, or the Tau have some psyker shielding device if you really hate ethereals and never want to see one of the table ever in your life, just make some lore exuse up as the game designer, who cares. Make it so that if you do have an opposing sci-fi wizard in your army that you get better rolls than baseline, I dont care. "But what if I fail my test on turn 1, and my entire army blows up because the entire thing completely depends on this protective barrier spell?" how about instead of just raw perils tests every time, you make an exhaustion system for psykers, where the first time they ever use a power its free and guaranteed but they gain an exhaustion counter, you keep placing these on the psyker every time they cast a power and they cause higher and higher chances that a perils occurs, with powerful psykers being able to endure more exhaustion counters than say an emasculated astropath in a guard.
