That shit takes so much time. When I got back into the game recently I had somewhere around 150 hours played from release up until they brought out lethal difficulty. By the time I was done maxing out every class to prestige IV I had put an extra 100 hours in on top of that, and I was doing practically nothing but operations the entire time with a couple of diversions into PvP that I could probably count on one hand and some messing around in the campaign when the servers were down for maintenance. Granted I wasn't doing the most efficient levelling method, but repeatedly doing waves 1-through-5 in Siege mode is the most brain-numbing shit imaginable so I wasn't gonna do that.

I wouldn't even mind the big time investment if you didn't have to reset your progress four times just to max out one class. Apparently when Saber floated the idea of prestige being like the old CoDs where you reset your level progress people were shouting at them on their own forums about how terrible of an idea that is in a game like SM2. A lot of the classes in this game feel like absolute shit to play until you get certain core perks that really make them come online, particularly Vanguard and Assault. Saber, in true modern gamedev fashion, did the literal opposite of what their fanbase wanted them to do and went ahead with the idea anyway. I honestly believe people would have reacted better if prestige took twice as long to max out but you didn't have to reset your level four times to do it.
Of course that's the route they went, because it means maximum engagement. I had already maxed out all 6 classes before the prestige shit dropped. 170 hours into the game, was still having fun and looking forward to newer operations and harder difficulty settings.

The day that prestige shit went live I immediately uninstalled it, and have no intent to even touch space marine 3, because this game developer has shown that they do not respect my time as a player. Sure, the community told them not to do it, but like always most gamers are fucking pathetic and just continue to go along with things and wonder why devs and publishers keep pushing awful shit.

And guess what? You proved them right by going ahead and grinding out this bullshit which accomplished nothing but padding their engagement numbers. Sorry, but that's just how it is. Video game companies constantly do shitty things because too many of their customers let them walk all over them to do it.

SM2 shit is wild. I just played Astartes mod after a while and then just stopped playing. I had my fun. Don't regret buying it, but live service model stuff will always crash. Just glad we got a pretty fun campaign out of it.

3 player co-op is fucking mega retarded though from day 1.

Well yeah, I know why they do it; the longer someone plays, the more likely they are to buy cosmetic packs. I probably would have been turned off the game if I had been playing even semi-regularly during my year long hiatus just to see the massive prestige grind get implemented. I hadn't been following the game at all so basically everything between the lethal difficulty update and patch 10 was completely new to me, so despite how gay it is I figured I may as well go for it since I wanted to get back into the game anyway.

The bots are mad retarded. I swear they are programmed to walk into your firing line.

I remember almost creaming my pants when the early days Astartes mod bots did FUCKING ANYTHING besides just run in front of you and dying. I'm not even trying to sell that mod, but it's the reason I put 100+ hours into that game.

The base game is very proof of conceptish. Like there's some good there, but Saber seems inclined to also pick the worst ways to do things in the end. Like not "Crash the game with no survivors" bad but still make it overall suck. I just remember seeing their list of Chapters that were going to get special stuff in the game first and scratched my head.

I've been thinking of giving it an install and running through the campaign so if you rate it I might have to check it out. If there's one thing I didn't like about the vanilla campaign it's how fucking bullet spongey everything is. The most iconic weapon used by the most iconic faction in the franchise should not feel like an airsoft gun.

Giving the Salamanders champion skin to the fucking Sniper and not Heavy because "Sniper has a cloak" was easily the most retarded decision they made as far as cosmetics go. It's even worse now that Heavy has the Pyrecannon and Tactical has the Pyreblaster, but neither of them can use the Salamanders cosmetics because they were made for Phobos armour and not Tacticus or Gravis.

The Carcharodons, Raptors and Raven Guard getting a second pack in Season Pass 2 is wild. Like other than reddit and YouTube secondaries, nobody wants that shit. The Ravens are the weakest and lamest First Founding chapter, the Raptors are boring and the sharks are flanderizrd mary sues.

They even skipped Executioners in the Imperial Fists dlc but made sure to add the Sons of the Phoenix.

The new Salamander armor pack is also bad, no chest plate and the helmet is the one from the upgrade kit and not something fun like a mkIII helmet, they’re allowed to do that so the excuse “GW isn’t allowing the good armor” isn’t in effect.

I'm going to qualifiy I played it like a year ago. It could be dogshit now, but at the time it elevated the game significantly. IDK how well it still holds up.

I do remember it unlocking all cosmetics that weren't tied to DLC immediately which was nice. I like playing pretty marine dressup, and y'all niggas can't stop me!

I like Raven Guard, but feel it shouldn't be too much to ask to have most of the First Founding together at a time or something. Still what the fuck did they add more stuff for the Sons of the Phoenix because their colors and heraldry has been in the game since very early in it? What more can you add for that Chapter?

Asking those questions is why I think Saber are dumb. LOL

Used extra daemon prince bits for this Russ, I might rip off and re-seat the chest plate on the barrel but probably doesn't need it. Found some things that would work well with the other HH Russ I built awhile back too.

I said I was gonna work on the boss but then I remembered Men come before Orks, so worked on this aspiring champion and washed him, need to touch up the trim and target a couple areas. Went to drill the barrel of the bolt pistol on a legionnaire and absolutely butchered it when my hand slipped so now trying change it to a chainsword with a makeshift cross guard, needs greenstuff on the sides. Lastly I went to fix some old nurglings. The ones with the brown gunk on them were a fucked up ebay purchase that I tried to save, and the first unit I ever assembled are on the same front line, I found that in order to get the base nurglings to mesh into the blob, you need to lop off some of their arms and legs to fit snuggly, and finally decided to get it over with since the other set looks so uniform and clean

Gonna have a little get together with a homie and do hobby work while I show him fallout season 1 tommorow, hopefully can crank out more. A shame it's been raining,

I was gonna fuckin sperg about SM2 because goddamn, I've got 1k hours in it and I've got a lot to bitch about- but it all just boils down to "mediocre at best. If it wasn't warhammer it'd be even worse. Could be fucking amazing but they don't care".

But hey, maybe if we make enough reddit and focus threads SM3 will be the assest flip we DESERVE! I HOPE MALUM CADO SHOWS UP

Bro that Leman Russ is awesome.

Honestly the current problem I got for Space Marine 2 is the host system.

So I hop up a random match, do well, them the long loading screen for finishing the mission and coming back to the ship, but them, someone who was on the team leaves, so I get a "host disconected", which doesnt leave by itself (so I cant just go drink some water to take a piss after a match), and them more load before I can play.

I can get the limited number of Operations, and even bullshit dificulty, but seriusly, cant they just put a "you wish to stay on this team?" when the battle ends so if no, I can just hop off without an extra loading screen.

Similar complaint about loading when leaving or someone leaves the squad when sometimes it just leaves you on the barge, why isn't that the default?

Did spot in the recent community update, they're planning a fix for swapping Phobos/Non Phobos armour parts around but aware they've been planning that for awhile. Agree with the comments on the prestige situation, would've preferred if it was higher ranks with additional perks instead of the reset element. Would like to see an adaptation of siege mode as being a "live" ongoing battle like endless style opposed to 5 waves then new location as currently is, can still use the control points, reset the shields/lascannons etc as progress markers, similar to operations mode on recent Battlefield games (not played 6 yet so don't know if it is also in that too)

>2 pages of people discussing the use of niggers in space marine chapters
>complains about female space marine discussion apropos of nothing

Is this thread just traumatized by a mass banning or something?
It's traumatized by not wanting a bunch of tourists popping in every time some grifter on youtube pretends to give a shit about 40k because they read some culture war crap somewhere. It's fucking tiresome, especially when most of the tourists don't actually do or even read shit. If it wasn't GW painting niggers, it would have been someone bitching about female custodes again, or bringing up the 40k henry cavil show. It's all as tiresome as seeing gay rainbow tranny marines on reddit posted weekly(also by people who don't read the shit, don't play, rarely paint, etc.).

Gotcha. Bitching about femstodes is "culture war crap", whereas bitching about niggers is fine because YouTubers don't do it. Seems like an odd way to judge posts to me tbh, but I'll play ball.
Still unclear about the show, though. Is it le culture war crap to discuss the 40k show in the 40k thread? Will that change once it's released? Or does that all depend on what fags on Youtube say about it?

No? Are you fucking illiterate? Are you now being represented in space marine chapters?

Even within that first sentence I'm equating them to being the same fucking thing, and then immediately following it with "it's all as tiresome as" and then listing shit from reddit.

When there is precisely zero information about it and some grifting retards bring it up on youtube pretending they've got "insiders" or whatever other nonsense they're claiming for the month, yes it is culture war faggotry.
Will that change once it's released?
Doesn't even have to wait until it's released, but when it's just some grifting faggot with henry cavill in the thumbnail, no we don't need that shit.
Or does that all depend on what fags on Youtube say about it?
No, but unfortunately it'll also draw in more tourists which at this point includes people who haven't read shit in a decade, haven't played since 5th or 7th or whatever edition when they quit, but still want to complain as if their input will actually matter since they've basically been gatekeeping themselves out of the shit. I'm surprised since you actually seem to have read some 40k books and discussed them in this thread, that you can't fucking read or understand why people would rather see hobby related shit than culture war bitching.
