Phenomenal. Truly visionary, the crossover of the millennium.

Thank you for solving this brain worm i've had. I saw the black mechanicus guy and was like "ok whatever a black guy" but there was something nagging in the back of my mind. Lmao imagine the voice lines.

"By fent and counterfeit, we smite the xenos"

"Arch-Magos, the fentscape can support no more fentarii"

"Blessed Magos, watch your Droid Floyds carefully, our scouts report sightings of Necron Neck-Kneelers in the area."

Small update on the knight armature kit.

Model is mostly built. Some of my initial praise is gone. The model does allow you swap out arms with weapons on, but they don't give you enough bits to make the whole set. So it's odd they are made to be swappable at all. It's just asking for people to print the 3/6 missing pieces and that way you can have a full set of swappable builds.

The arms are built to be poseable, just like Gunpla. Unlike Gunpla, some of the joints are too loose so will have to be glued anyway.

I also didn't notice at first, but the armour plates come in machanicus and knight variants, which is kind of neat.
Yeah that some of the problems with the kits. The legs are posable as well if you cut the pegs that lock the joints into place, but you'll still need to actually glue the joints because they just can't be left floppy. With a gunpla if you were actually going to use it as a game piece, you'd still need to glue most of the joints as well but some you could get away with.

As far as the extra joints needed to easily magnetize or just swap weapons, all of the knights need them and they definitely exist as printable parts. Hell, magnetbaron sells kits for for them(they're overpriced, but it's a convenience thing). At that point you may as well also consider getting prints or casts of the FW knight weapons too if you ever want to just mix shit up outside of playing exactly the specific combat patrol.

In short he says that other Youtubers are performing a dereliction of duty by not calling out GW when it mixes modern-day "progressive" politics into 40k.

I don’t know how to tell him this about YouTubers… they agree with that.
His irritation can be boiled down to wondering why other 40k Youtubers don't criticize Games Workshop for doing stupid things and potentially leading the franchise into a bad state in the near future. Doesn't seem he has realized that most Youtube channels centered around a piece of media are often effectively a third-party marketer happy to make do with bread crumbs, be complicit and shill anything as long as the push back isn't too bad.

I mean it’s been obviously vaguely GamerGate like about gaming journalism integrity across streamers and YouTubers for a while now… it’s worse with twitch streamers.

So he's a fucking idiot then? All of these lore channels are gay, and his isn't any better. If they're parasites off of a franchise, that's what he is as well. Doesn't cover the game, doesn't cover the hobby aspect, that leaves him as someone summarizing books.

He obviously isn't following the hobby much because it's fucking cooked already.

Most of us will just quietly carry on collecting, painting or playing it regardless cos we can disconnect our personal lives from the shit we see online.

Looks good but to me it looks like a chaos guardsman.
it is, I also built some space cops, just schizo blogging.

Just assembled this Artel W grimskull. Superglue can be so nasty, didn't fuck it up too much, need to bend the resin for the back arm cables which is the only step left. I cant unsee the shoulder spike as a booty plug.

We really needed to waste nearly 30 minutes of hard drive space on Arch whining about his irrelevance?

People want lore channels to be about the lore. They don’t want to go on a crusade because a British social media guy for GW made negative remarks about Charlie Kirk. They want long form lore videos. Arch’s channel is where it is at because he is only after a niche, politicized audience. He used to be a good primer for Warhammer Fantasy, but he has been beaten by the better presented videos from The Book of Choyer.

Arch doesn’t talk about the game, doesn’t hobby, and doesn’t draw a large audience; does he really think that he can shout a call-to-arms to get GW from being “woke”?

If he becomes a lolcow in the future, it could be worth it for going through past material. But at this point might as well just do it via preservetube. He's a grown man that has tried to make a career out of doing glorified book reports, it's going to fall flat eventually regardless of how the IP he's effectively just been leeching off of has been doing. Just as I've said about other channels in the same boat, if they weren't just leeches they could actually produce something of interest on their own, but summarizing books is not that.

Hell, just looking through his videos on his lore channel he doesn't even seem to have covered any lore from the past decade over the past couple years other than having one video mentioning the return of The Lion but it's also just a video bitching about power creep in lore as if that hadn't already been a thing for ages anyway. He wants to be a lore channel, but doesn't cover lore... what the fuck even is the audience for that? Oh, but he "remastered" his old vraks videos, whoopdeefuckingdoo. He used to get sometimes even 300-500k views a video(and a few way above that), but now can rarely break 50k.

There is a use in someone in making dense lore understandable for people to get into the hobby. That’s why Bricky is such a useful resource. He gives a good primer on the factions without bogging them down with unnecessary detail.

Arch, on the other hand, succumbed to his own political brainrot that he once claimed that there can’t be black Ultramarines. It was when that first Dawn of Fire book came out and had a black Ultramarine in the cover. Arch, in the midst of what I am calling niggerphobia, forgot that the geneseed makes some space marines develop facial features like their Primarch. They don’t change everyone’s skin color. All to claim that GW is going woke.

Sure? But it's even dumber than that without even having to discuss what's "woke". His thumbnail for the video puts his icon on the side of the red and orange GW logo, and the other channel icons on the side of the newer GW corporate logo... which is the same as their original logo that they used into the early 80s. I don't know if Arch knows what their "new" logo is, or what he intended for his thumbnail to look like, but it seems to be conveying GW going back to their roots along with most of the "social media community" and leaving him behind? That's probably not what he intended and it makes him seem like an idiot.

And yes, for someone who wants a 20 minute summary on genestealers or something before doing their own deep dive sure there's a use for such videos. The problem is that isn't what Arch does, with multiple hours long series about shit from decades ago that not even anyone at GW gives a shit about and isn't relevant to anything they've done for years even ignoring primaris and whatever else it is that people complain about GW doing while not having touched the shit themselves for ages. He's the equivalent of some D&D grognard still screeching into the wind about 3.5 on youtube when everyone else has moved onto newer editions or different systems.

Don't want black space marines? Then don't fucking paint them black. Where is Arch's army? It's not like he's got a reason to hide it since anyone in his area would know his face and voice anyway. Even his oldest videos discussing WHFB, he's got pictures of armies and minis in the thumbnails but they aren't his.

Meanwhile Lutein, I've seen his knights army. Kirioth, he's shown models he's painted on screen. Baldermort, he was at a 1 day tournament run by a necron channel a while back, I believe he kept his face hidden but he had an army. Valrak doesn't seem to play, but he's got his army and a bunch of other minis painted from over the years. Majorkill has done a video or two discussing painting minis. The only 2 channel icons he has that haven't shown something hobby related at some point other than just their typical gradeschool level book reports, is 40ktheories/remleiz, and Oculus Imperia(the one with the ginger beard) at least that I'm aware of(and I know basically nothing about Oculus Imperia).

Ok, so fine maybe he just doesn't paint. Ok, the guy also never talks about actually playing the game either. Doesn't hobby, doesn't play, doesn't read current shit just complains about other summaries he sees. How the fuck is that a path for growth for a 40k channel? Even if Mark Wells were still running the company like he was over a decade ago(before chapterhouse), Arch's channel would still be fucked. Or even Tom Kirby, it still wouldn't matter if Arch just refused to engage with anything and everyone else has moved on but him. So no, it wouldn't just be current leadership under Kevin Rountree either.

Da Big Mouf by Danie Ware

Ehh... It was ok. The idea was really cool, as we follow the orks getting ambushed by the Rose Sisters. See their perspective and terror at having to listen to religious hymns. But there's nothing here that really Jumps out, The sisters find a perfect ambush site next to a Giant hole in the space hulk (Da Big Mouf) and shoot almost everyone dead except the POV orc. I think the ironic point is that he would have lead them to the relic they were searching for ( A saints leg bone) but Augusta pulled back to ensure her teams safety. (one of them almost got a leg ripped off)

I think part of my disinterest was from listening to the audio book to save time and money. It was so boring and monotone I was having serious trouble paying attention.

Dude literally sounded like this the entire time.
The ork voices were cool though, but are all the audio books so boring when describing clangs, death and bullets?

Really depends on the narrator. Jonathan Keeble is a guy who I think really does a great job with action scenes, and emotion in general.

Edit: looked it up and Emma Gregory does the narration for your book, and she was apparently the narrator for Requiem Infernal which I thought she did quite well in.

Sometimes they just do better jobs in some books than others. She also does the Jenit Sulla portions of the Ciaphas Cain audio books and they're fine. Another example of narrator's just randomly doing badly would be Gareth Armstrong. He's done a bunch of black library books and normally they're ok but Devastation of Baal was fucking awful because half the voices he did sounded absolutely ridiculous.
