Well it looks like I am restarting my CSM army, depending on what his retinue is or not.

Was reminded of 40k cardboard terrain recently.

A friend of mine used to have this.

And he loved it. I had the gorkamorka terrain. I remember there was an oil derrick in there. A quick google search brings up 2e starter terrain and necromunda as popular card options. This got me looking for card/papercraft terrain.

I've looked up card terrain a few times since returning to the hobby, so sorry if I mentioned this before.

Most are either bad, paywalled, not suitable for the game, or dead links. There do exist scans of the 2e terrain, but it's a little cartoony. Still, I might print that out. As for the rest. There are supposedly fan made 3D prints available, but that's the thing, they're 3D prints. That makes a sense I suppose. The card building did have plastic bits for support, and scans might invite the wrath of GW lawyers. Still, being card means it should be cheap and easy to reproduce these days.


Here's a page of fan made templates and 40k card terrain I found. Bit big and are generic boxes, but it's something.

More reasonably sized, modern day/near future buildings.

And cleaned up versions of the 2e starter ruins.
 
I would like to take this opportunity to implore you, all of you, with tears in my god damn eyes, to not give Games Workshop any money. I am begging you to start 3d printing, borrowing old books or reading (free and legal) books online. Anything besides give Games Workshop a single shekel.

That's all. Warhammer is cool and all. Yeah.

Merry christmas /wh40k/. I hope we have another great year of sperging ahead of us. Theres not many places I can come to and call people niggers while ranting about warhammer lore.

Speaking of giving James money, here's the latest member of my Iron Hands combined clan. I am naming him Brother Bannus, and he is part of the 34th "Brazen Claws" Company of Clan Morrugal. The resting spot he rests his foot upon is a Maximus power pack in Night Lords Blue, it's probably not seen in the photo, but I did some lightning on it as well.

A lot of models can be found on cults3D if you look hard enough, I have an entire angron I hope to one day print. People tend to sell massive collections of scanned GW models, but those are typically available somewhere online.

Yeah you can still buy the boxes for tac / devastator marines but they're nearly £40 each. As for cardboard terrain battle systems has some ok stuff for 40K as well.

As much as he cries over NU GW and warhammer hes In it for life, the thing I have noticed recently is if you are such a diehard chud in the table top space, your only escape is to historicals. Every other game is cheaper but will harbor the same politics GW has to save face see the Trench Crusade drama. Most guys by this point crawled back to Warhammer an use a couple of copes to justify still liking the setting

I dont defend nu GW but the thing is even as GW goes woke with things like black space wolves or constant referencing to how evil the imperium is etc its still technically the most chud appealing setting ever since they will still make stories justifying space marine actions or inquisition actions. Its because they are backtracking and trying to re add in satire elements but do it haphazardly since they have to sell a heroic space marine by next week.

Arch and the entire "chudsphere" of 40k are just annoying who wanna scream the sky is falling and that *WE* need to storm the local warhammers or someshit. It would be more useful if they were to make a chud version of 40k themsevles that ignores 8th lore onward but thats to much work.

Arch and his father Sargone are actually working on their own sci-fi setting. It sounds pretty shit, looks generic and includes cuckrage over European Union.
I'll have to dig a lot of shit to find it.
 
I love that GW are making an effort to expand your choices without overdoing it. The latest being Huron and Corsairs but theres also rumours of IW getting some love.

This year we also had
- IF, Salamanders, RG and IH specific love (models, detachments and flavour).
- EC, the last monogod CSM legion with a lot of unique models rather than leaning on the CSM range too much.
- Eldar refresh, expansion and promotion of different parts of their range (Eldar, Wraiths, Aspect Warriors, Corsairs, Harlequins, Ynnari)
- Drukhari got detachments that cater to all 3 of their subfactions

I probably missed some.

I hope it continues into 2026. They don't need to add new factions (dinosaur eldar for example) but they have plenty of material to give depth, flavour and personality to that isnt an Ultramarine.

Too bad nothing has actually happened, nothing is better, and everything is still going to shit. Cool, Cawl and Guilliman made super duper space marines. Fat lot of good they've done. Chaos is still going. Orkz are still waaghing. Nids are eating. The Necrons are crabby. The knife ears still exist as well as the other myriad xenos races. There's still even humans out there who AREN'T part of the Imperium or have even LEFT.

But yeah man. It's really gay how hopeful things have gotten. I also can't believe how dumbed down the setting is. Can you believe the Rubicon surgery simplified the space marine process and that retarded tech like Titans don't exist anymore? All to appeal to casuals smh my head.

New Huron model is banging, I've liked his character even since the his appearance in the second Night Lords book and when I finally got around to reading about the Badad War I liked him even more.

Starting a Chaos army finally I guess.

Chudhammer would fail because the point of the game would just be to dunk on current day politics. Aryan supersoldiers of the Galactic Imperium murdering degenerate followers of Trans’gen’dar’ism, savage nigorks, and feminists. Meanwhile the system would just be a rip off of One Page Rules because that’s easier than mathing out the results of complex rules interactions.

It would be a mix of Vengar Satanis’s awful satire and the racism in Varg Vikernes’s Myfarog but somehow less subtle.
