Those models I mentioned wanting to build a couple of days ago. My proxy Savlar Chem Dogs*.
(and a few gnolls with guns, Maybe I'll run them as beast men or something.)
Not the most flattering angle. Not sure how to paint these. I'm thinking of going for generic earth tones or maybe even Krieg colours**.
This was fun to work on, and their ramshackle nature made it a fun bits box raid. I think my favourite is the guy in the bottom left with the pistol and CC weapon. There is a guy on the bottom row with a lasgun that reminds me of the henchmen from Equilibrium.
*I liked penal legions like The Last Chancers. I learned later that they're no longer a thing. I then later learned that Savlar Chem Dogs are a thing, I then learned Guard legions don't work as a theme any more, but are discreet units with their own stat blocks. I then fiigured these are "my dudes" so I can do what I want, though I doubt I'll get them to the table anyway. Taking
@TingoFranDingo advice, I opted for a mix of weapons in keeping with the theme.
**I haven't read any chem dog books or anything. I only know the broad strokes. A penal legion from a toxic mining world with a tendency to steal things, especially gear. These guys with the coats I tried to equip with gas masks where I could. perhaps they stole the long coats and lasguns from a Krieg armoury? Another option is to hit them with a brown or tan spray and fill in details.
I have a bunch of guys in jump suits too. Being british, I should paint them grey with little arrows on, but the US style orange jump suits are more iconic, and would mean less free hand arrows.
