Ah yes basic functionality is bespoke rules now.
It works fine as is.
Yeah why would krieg ever want to have multiple small cheap units that need orders from one person when they could just attach a full command squad instead. Makes perfect ssense. Its not like they have room in a transport for one and not the other.
It doesn't have to be Drier, and I explained why it doesn't need to be Drier and how you can even use a krieg model if you really want to.
I thought you knew guard rules and how they worked because Ive got bad news for you about vehicles and orders.
Are you going to continue to fail to understand how the army works in 10th? Because Tank Commanders or any other guard character that can give orders to squadrons do not get attached to the units. Just like the army doesn't require for regiment units either.
But if you actually fucking played, you'd know this instead of whatever previous version of the guard rules(or mixed up between multiple editions of them) is stuck in your head. Because yes, if the regiment and squadron units all required attached officers to be able to receive orders, not only would it NOT work at all for vehicles(squadrons) 1/3 of the damned army would be spent on officers for regiments when it isn't necessary.
So yes, show me where the officer is required to be attached to the regiment or squadron unit?
The problem is that the rules don't support that. You can't use a Cadian Castellan's rules and swap it for a Krieg Field Marshall model because you can't attach him to Krieg squads. The main reason the Grizzled detachment is so good is that it opens up order possibilities to more than a narrow field of units.
It increases the number of orders that officers can give by 1, what the fuck are you talking about "opening up possibilities"? Sure, having to spend less points on officers I guess "opening up possibilities" it's not letting you change rules for what units can be attached to others. Hell, any detachment rule that can save points would be a huge benefit for ANY faction unless they've got another detachment that is still distinctly better, but that's an internal balance problem at that point. In the case of guard, grizzled veterans is competing with free lethals from combined arms, and that's an internal balance problem. It isn't because the army rule "doesn't work" as you claim.
So yeah, I'll keep my opinions on the functionality of guard based on actually playing, and others who do, rather than you who doesn't know wtf they're talking about.
Tell us more about people who proxy and play and how they work around GWs asinine detachment and army rules.
If you can't figure out how to proxy/kitbash an entire guard army to look like whatever regiment you want, I can't help you.
