He's definitely come up before, someone recently posted the video he did a little while back about the guy who ran the retail operation for GW back in the day. But even still it's worth mentioning when he's got new videos up as he's been making content for a while but in the past year has gotten some really good interviews that even cover the industry as a hole from various snapshots and perspectives.

Way better than some bullshit like arbitor ian or snipe and wib that spend their time trying to guess at shit instead of just interviewing people.
 
Not gonna lie all of the modern 40k models feel like a downgrade. The cadian troops notwithstanding, the last good Guard model was the Hydra. And even that edition? Those plastic ogryn are ass and scions were such a downgrade from Kasrkin.

30k has the heart and soul of the setting. Just look at how damn good an auxilia leman russ looks compared to the rogal dorn. And the new sentinels look like ass. Not to mention how bland the chapter specific primaris models are. And downright goofy the new nids are

I'm so deep in my own version of the hobby using 6th edition rules and using recast forgeworld models that when I go to the hobby store for paints and see modern 40k models its jarring. Especially shit like the new Cortez model

Maybe I'll look at some 30k kits so theyre smaller and might fit. Older models are harder for me to find unfortunately.

Worst case scenario, could always try dangling the Iron Hands techmarine or primaris from their feet.

Regardless of which model, it will be someone from the Iron Fags.

Ever since they switched over exclusively to CAD (or whatever programme they use) for sculpting there's almost no release that wowed me. The last models that i found really impressive were the GSC release. I think what offends me the most is that it's almost all monopose shit now, with shitty sprues that look like they're been made that way to discourage conversions especially. Gone are the glory days of the 3rd ed. Tactical Squad box.

I need to add that i am out of the TT part of the hobby for a long time and also a 2nd ed. kid at heart so i am heavily biased regarding their current design philosophy. I'd take the RT/early 2nd ed. Harlequins any day over their piss-poor last release.

So I got this video recommended, which is probably something that all of you thought at one point or another, or at least those of you who played StarCraft.
It's a fun thought experiment, but I would like to hear some 40k lore nerd perspective.
I honestly think that Terrans will make an alliance with Tau and will slowly snatch worlds from Imperium since quality of life provided by them is akin to Royalty and people will just happily surrender outside of those the most zealous once.

Space Marine Conquests: Apocalypse.

Interestingly, some people seem to think that only a single chapter/faction can fulfill their niche skill. I've seen many people asking if any chapter besides the Alpha Legion uses spies. It seems that, yes, they all do; why wouldn't they?

Unironically AOS, preferably Seraphon, if you're committed to 40k then get a box of heresy marines and a cheap character for maximum value or throw in 70$ of your own money and get a combat patrol or go poorniggamaxxing and get a kill team. The new sisters/warp talons box is coming out soon, thatll probably be just a bit over a 100$. What do you actually like?

The detail has gone up significantly on their models, but I really hate how they're functionally mono-pose now, like sometimes you can kit bash things a bit to get a slightly different look but on the whole there's torsos that are hard coded to a specific pair of legs etc.

Well probably because GW likes using the stereotypes more than showing the marines as the jack of all trades super soldiers they are. So the Alpha Legion become the spies. Wolves are the melee. Salamanders only flame. Scars gotta go fast etc.

Though I'd reckon the people asking shit like "are the Alpha the only ones who use spies" are particularly retarded. The type of people who ask "why does this ultramarine have a red helmet".

This and the fandom idea of Geneseed being basically a printer is so stupid. Why make 1000 chapters if marines can only be a carbon copy of the same 18 super duper dudes?

Ultramarine chapter is violent? Can't possibly be just their chapter culture, they must be World Eaters.

Imperial Fist chapter wear purple and is about duels? Must be Emperor's Children, after all the Imperial Fists would never generate a chapter known for swordfighting.

Salamander chapter likes religion? And so go on.

I own UM scouts, WB legionnaires, Full options Kommandos, Full options Exaction squad, Full options Blooded. I could run chaos cults too if I picked up some accursed cultists, but I really want to go third party sculpt for those, The kit looks good I just know I will want 2x for the real game and the monobuild is brutal.

I think i've narrowed it down to picking up some more Deathwing termies, a bloodcrusher unit + jugger lord (I want some spare bits for TG vehicles off these as well), 2x wrecka krew which I'm torn on building as tankbustas or not, or Belakor.

Belakor specifically because I dont trust James not to do something incredibly retarded to undivided daemons next edition. And he will undoubtedly be a core part of whatever that retardation manifests as.
