I am actually interested in HH 3.0 thing being a flop. Is there somewhere I can read more of this? I thought 30k had long been a profitable thing for GW.
2.0 was by all metrics pretty successful, but thats mostly because HH had not been updated since 2012, a lot of the minis where really starting to show their age, and the community was slowly moving away. From the people who where used to playing their system for almost 10 years before GW cared enough to relaunch it, there wasn't really any way they can get them to buy a new edition less than 3 years after launch. I think 3.0 would have been more successful had they waited maybe 5y after 2.0's launch, considering they kept on releasing 2.0 campaign books up until the 3.0 announcement, so a lot of people basically got a month or so with their new rules before they where obsolete.

I am no hurr durr gendersperg but i am still pissed off by this because it absolutely makes no sense from a lore standpoint, which i find much more offensive than GW prostrating themselves in front of the woke crowd if they actually go through with this.
My biggest question who really gives that much a fuck about the custodes to be pissed? Minus the grifter scum and the retards who cry about "da wokes", the custodes have been treated as a joke ever since their new codex came out. Frankly, even lore wise their shit barely stayed consistent as before they were made from remains of a particular Space Marine Legion, thus implying they could never be made again, now suddenly switching to noble family shit.

Everyone cares. UK progressives treat women like shit, no one should want gw to cover for that.

But that's the GW business model. It's the same as live service PC gaming. They update base set X until the moment base set X+1 is out.

For a fun example of this going wrong, Sims 4 has something like $2500 worth of DLC and now they want to release Sims 5 this year but are trying to find a way to do so without causing the Sims 4 paypigs from burning their offices down.

Custodes are useful as the cheapest army to enter 40k in right now. But more than anything it's just a representation of them blatantly cucking out, making lore changes for the wrong reasons.

I enjoy the Custodes conceptually, and I could even see them doing Female Custodes in a fucked up Grimdark way, but "they were always there and if you don't like that then fuck you chud [blocked]" was perhaps the dumbest fucking way possible to make the change and I hope they made some serious changes with their editorial team (who I believe absolutely snuck that change into the codex) and their social media team (who was very obviously a pozzed dyke).

Someone on Twitter once had an effortpost that stuck with me about an idea of a 3 book series where some Custodes is sent to track down a "rogue" Custodes and it turns out he was tracking down a Female Custodes that somehow snuck through the selection process (IIRC, the Custodes are the sons of Terran Nobles, if one of them sent a daughter in drag that would be a pretty common trope) and half the Custodes leadership want her (and the guy they had track her down) dead to hide the fuckup.

Make her a ranged specialist (since she's inherently weaker physically than the men) and you could even use her to create a new Ranged Custodes sniper unit.

Right, and it isn't just models that seems to have put a lot of people off about it. Making the game "faster" by cutting it down to only being 4 rounds while simultaneously making the charge phase into a clunky mess leaving people wondering what GW was thinking. I think it's 5-6 pages for the charge rules? Fucking up people's already built armies by making loadouts unusable(saying one or two things is different is one thing, doing it for half an army is ridiculous). It's also kind of apparent when the wahapedia, newrecruit, etc. equivalents are slow to update(if at all) and people can't even be bothered to share around a PDF of the thing.

This is purely anecdotal, but I saw people picking up HH 2.0 and getting into it as new players or converting from 40k, or just playing it alongside 40k and that's good for any business with grognards moving on or dying(lets be real, it was a lot of old grognards) because you're getting more people to add to a "leaky bucket/bathtub". HH 3.0 doesn't appear to have onboarded many new players, and drove off a bunch of dedicated players or people are still playing 2.0 or a variety of houserules instead which can make a game even more impenetrable for someone genuinely interested because they build their army a certain way and find out it doesn't work that way due to the houserules their local community might be using for army lists, terrain interactions, missions, and so on. Yes, within a couple months of release people were already making up sets of houserules for the game because they just didn't like it, or managed to get bored already if they didn't switch back to 2.0 instead.

I figured if anyone had a reasonable video about it from a few months after launch it'd be Winters SEO, and it looks like I was right. A bunch of the positive early videos for it were just using the quick start rules or were simply shilling because they had to make a positive video about the huge free box of plastic they just received and then didn't bother covering it much or at all after(because they never cared in the first place).

So yeah unless the game turned out to be wildly popular in Japan or something where there's basically little communication outside of communities there due to the moon runes barrier, it seems like the shit flopped. What the community was openly vocal about wanting was a HH 2.5 of sorts, and that clearly didn't happen.

A. Are you retarded?
B. I'm pointing out you pretending 'it's just some clique' is wrong yes.
I shouls be asking ya the retarded question, because again the fuck does progressives have to do with this shit.
Nah, I'm not pretending, when ones who whine about Fem Custodes are grifter/antiwoke fags or retards who go "muh kultur war! Muh gwimderp ish in danger!!"

I don't give a drop of piss in an ocean of piss about female Custodes, but I still have to ask; what was wrong with the Sisters of Silence? That's pretty damn good representation of female badasses literally by the Emporer's side.

Kind of like how I didn't care about the whole culture war sperging about female Astartes. I didn't see the point. The Soriatas are far more interesting as a faction anyway.

Because like the custodes themselves, nobody really gives a flying dick about 'em. But realistically speaking, I think because the units are very situational and I think theres only one detachment that doesnt make 'em suck on the board.

Many armies would kill for a 45-point objective monkey with Scout 6" and decent saves (and flamers that might even do something in Lions).
Thet only get Scout 6 if they have Aleya attached to them, on their own at best they get a 3+ feel no pain if a Psyker attacks 'em. So, really a squad of 4 for 40 points isnt exactly much help unless Aleya who is 65 points.

No they don't. Witchseekers(the ones with flamers) come with scout 6 on their own, and force a battleshock test on hit(not even wound, so it's guaranteed to force it) even without the target being a psyker.

That's a 45 point throw-away unit to go do secondaries or potentially battleshock a unit, while also being decent at clearing T3 chaff for their unit size, instead of having to waste a 150 point(it really seems like they're trying to get to the point of pricing them as space marines because people would prefer to use wardens) or more custodian units to go do a secondary instead. Almost nothing in the game is going to trade up into that, meaning you're forcing people to have to deal with them inefficiently as a nuisance instead of focusing on whatever else you're doing on the table.

As far as the detachments, the sisters detachment itself is dogshit, the talons of the emperor one where it's basically big brother little sister buffing eachother with auras is fine(and you can basically use strats on them for free if they're close enough to a custodes unit). Witchseekers may not be an auto include, but they're a staple in other detachments. And then as mentioned about the lions of the emperor detachment, the +1 to hit doesn't do anything because of flamers but the +1 to wound means you're wounding most elite infantry on a 4 including terminators from a 45 point unit. And this has been the case most of this edition since the first custodes nerf from 10 man blobs down to 5, even before they got the lions detachment.

There's nothing wrong with the sisters of silence, it's just wokes wanting to change things for the sake of it.
What the hell, really? I need to read into that, sounds extremely retarded.

I think it's from the 7th edition custodes codex, but I'm not so sure.

New Custodes lore completely passed me by, they got released when i did not pay any attention at all to the hobby. Honestly, i expected much worse, this reads not too bad.

It’s just about their coomer fetish of muscle mommies. I’ve never heard a decent argument for female insert that didn’t devolve into them wanting to jerk off to it. “Oh you don’t want women in your setting? That means you’re gay thinking about dudes!” Is just about every argument. No I don’t want women in my setting I want to larp as a giant muscular space racist because that’s what I identify as.
