I had a similar thought on size when I started so youre not alone.Built my first mini yesterday, Night Lords gunner with plasma. First let me say, Jesus fucking Christ I didn't expect them it be that tiny, for some reason I expected them to be at least 50% bigger.
The hardest part by far were the two arms and weapon. All the other pieces fit together like a puzzle but the arms are just flat to flat.
I attached his right arm first, attached the gun hand to that, then fit the left in between the gun and torso. It wasn't clear what order to do all that in. Attaching the gun was really hard too because I couldn't figure out a way to hold it on there while brushing the cement so I tried to quickly brush the cement on both sides then squeeze it together. It held loosely, I ended up really melting the shit out of the right wrist to get it to stick but it looks ok. View attachment 8429973
I find for the guns and this is dependent on how the left arm attachs to the gun, i will glue arms and gun together (creating a little U) and whilst its glued but a little soft, glue both arms and make sure all 3 spots hold (arms you can pinch to body, left arm just straighten if it needs help). Someone probably had a better technique but it works for me.
When you come across the sprue gate attached to the shins or bicep (mostly shins) you'll have an aneurysm trying to clean it up.
