Honestly, there are enough novels now where I genuinely think Black library should focus mostly on reprinting the old books. Some are good, and some are really not, but im sure some of that old cover art will attract people who see it. Sure it would put current black library authors out of a job, but imo thats a positive as its clear even the more talented ones have since lost their touch.
Really what they should do is just do their books as print on demand after the initial run that sells out. Gives people access to the older books, avoids people being unable to get something like the guardsman's primer if they missed the first 30 seconds it was on sale, etc. But leaving money on the table is something GW has been great at for years.

It's certainly not a dead game, just in a weird purgatory for years that's been mostly self inflicted but the recent model updates in the past few years have definitely gotten the game some positive interest.
I mean it terms in lore. There's all these famous battles and settings, but people only care about the clan invasion era. Some do like the pre-clan/fed-com civil war era, but I see that as that settings 30k. It's funny that when a game is set before the clan invasion, there's complaints about the clan mechs not being there.

As for trying to kill it. Last I remember was that cringe "Battletech Gothic" kickstarter that was supposedly successful, but I've not heard anything about it since. They recently published Battletech Aces. But don't know much of that other than having single player rules.

And I wouldn't mind trying Alpha Strike. I'd have to get it from Amazon as nowhere sells it here.

It's a problem that's being worked on with the more recent ilclan era stuff, which does have sourcebooks and new mechs from the past 7-8 years or so, but it's still trying to fix while simultaneously ignoring "the dark ages" which is the 70 year time skip that occurred while wizkids was running things with their heroclix shit among the many other problems of the various people managing the IP between FASA and Catalyst Game Labs. I don't know a much in depth about it, but it seems like the equivalent of trying to fix Star Wars post Kathleen Kennedy.

As far as Gothic, I've never seen anyone mention it since the launch other than to mock it, and it seemed like just an excuse to sell alt sculpts of the mechs and include other miscellaneous monsters(there's been dinosaurs and shit in battletech before). Which is fine, it was just kinda lame that the first thing they did was try to ape 40k, but doesn't seem to have any impact on the "real" setting.

I'm building the Screecher which is the warp talon-ish guy in Nemesis Claw. I say ish because he has no jetpack, which had me confused for a minute searching the sprue. Maybe he was a reject from the new Murderwing team.

Not mine, just an example.

I was waiting to build my CSM models until seeing how the upgrade sprue was, but starting now. Should be pretty easy to build the legionaries without a shoulder pad/heads/etc and wait for the sprue to come out. Been dying to build these since finishing Storm of Iron, can't wait for that Warsmith.

it wont be Decimus because they are going to use him as an aspect warrior for Konrad Curze's return
The only way they’ll do Decimus is if they do Eldar as well. But it’s GW and they’ll never advance that storyline because they never do anything with the plot.

Are the sprues from 30k the same quality as the 40k ones? I know some secondaries have shittier materials and i really want the new bananas box.

The sad thing about the whole endeavor is that i am stuck between the "muscle mommy" weebs and the "muh only girls allowed!" grogs. Like yeah it was a retcon, and one that was made badly at that, but i enjoy the fact that it serves the purpose of further distancing the space marines from the adeptus custodes. The amount of times i had to read "but the geneseed can only be implanted on males!" was crazy.

That’s so gay and retarded I could see them doing it.

You’ll need this before you start building any kits.

Yeah because caring about what a bunch mouthbreathers think about the plastic toys i paint is very epic.
I think you suck flaccid cock and are genuinely a fucking retard.

Imagine getting into custardes now and not getting the old sculpts that weren’t dilated. No, HH sprues aren’t “different” btw.

I know it is hard to fathom but yes, i do have a bunch of the current 40k models, and if you did you would know that while some look good a lot of them look like overgrown marines, specially now with primaris. Just look at allarus:

I also have fondness for the oldmarines but the current custodes line are neither post-primaris scale nor heroic, its some weird middle ground.

Still, i appreciate the answer about the 30k sprues. I am just glad i won't have to kitbash any AOS legs into mine because it made them look even worse. :)
