Not sure if this was mentioned, but the whole Guard vs Space Marine glup shitto is that 99.9% of the time, a SM chapter is just a colour change. Even space wolves having furs and shit is a recent change, and you can still get away with vanilla SM.
I think Blood Bowl is pretty solid the new edition did some strange things but I think it was meant for the better. You mostly need two boxes to have all your bases covered and if you truly need a special gimmick star player you are not forced to get one. I mostly played Dwarves and I have the death roller for the gimmick while I rarely ever need to use the Amazons star player.
The prints are pretty cool and ive learnt a few tricks about printing from them.

If you look at Horus' head it should be a bit obvious. The multiple colors is because it was printed in smaller parts with different filament and then cemented together. This one might make it more clear what I mean.

Like I said 12 years and AOS has failed to take a foothold, the rumor is apparently Kelly also went back to 40k when AoS was his personal baby. The sales of AoS have been fine probably some of the best in table top right now but the issue is it does not have secondaries whatsoever. Say what you want but GW always wants more and if you look at the sales you have some shakey areas where AoS is *not* number 2 its still in the top 5.
You say failed to take hold, but it outsells most other miniature wargaming products. ICv2 only applies to retail in North America, but it's consistently been within the top 5 for years.
