Nah, its that GW is hiring neckbeards from /d/ and they need to have their fap folder full.

Actually, GW doesn't ask you at all about your politics when you have an interview with them. They only care what you know about the hobby and how you would bring more people to the hobby.

Also, they have a good amount of women working at their offices. They tend to play Necrons or Tyranids.

In non SJW related news, lore just had a major fucking shift in the latest Horus Heresy shindig

Turns out the ultimate architect of the Heresy was infact....

The Emperor.

Basically the whole thing was infact a
repeat of him betraying and exterminating the Thunder Warriors. The Primarchs and Spess Mehreens had served their purpose and he wanted to have them wipe eachother out to save himself the trouble of doing it personally. The only fault in the plan was that Chaos got involved and turned it from the intended Marine/Primarch civil war to full on warp tainted apocalypse.

He was going to get rid of all of them? I thought he was just going to get rid of the ones that wouldn't fit in his more peace time Imperium.
Seems like the Emperor just keeps revealing that not only he is an asshole more and more but he is also kind of incompetent and the source of all his own problems.

So the supreme autist who though putting pariahs into the webway was a good idea thought they did not need space marines to combat any occurence of Chaos or Xenos?

Shit the dude is full blown Chris chan. Guess if he succeeded, Necrons and Nids would have buttraped the Hippirum in a week. Holy shit the reason the Imperium is still going is that he is dead.

What are the chances that Creative Assembly will make a Total War game set in 40k universe? They did the fantasy warhammer, and it's super popular but I'm afraid I'm not a big fan of fantasy warhammer. I'd kill for 40k game tho!

The problem with that is that 40k is mostly set in a universe where everyone is using ranged weapons such as rifles by default, and creative assembly might not have enough experience in that area(as proven by horrible issues in Empire Total War) but they greatly improved in shogun 2 and I believe that making a good total war game in ranged combat universe is not beyond them.

There is also the problem that a lot of 40k armies don't use bases and they seldom are confined to one planet.

Probably won't happen until support for the Dawn of War series finally stops.

I would not bet on that, GW is handing out the license like its going out of style to spread brand awareness just as Disney is only putting out lego SW games beside BF2.

Neither did Huns, and it worked out well.

It can be just a single campaign set in a single planet situation, like most Dawn of War games are.

I just don't see loyalist marines using the same mechanic as Chaos warriors and beastmen do honestly, it just does not fit.

We'll know about new games for Warhammer 40k next year after the IP convention in Nevada where they'll "rent" out their IP.

After catching up on the new lore I'm starting to unironically believe that Horus did nothing wrong.
>inb4 Inquisition

As for a Total War 40K the closest thing we had were Dark Crusade and Soulstorm if that counts.

( For seriously though, Horus kind of got the same shit end of the stick as Magnus did; except being who he was and what was on his shoulders, he fell that much further. He never fully embraced the big, spiky, tentacly dick of Chaos like his manchild son would though, so that's something of note. )

Does anybody know a way to paint dark eldar infantry at speed without them looking total shit? I offered to paint some minis for a friend who was interested in playing Killteam with me and when he finally bought the minis he'd decided nah fuck it fullblown 40 k so I've got a Start Collecting box, an additional set of Kabalites, Wyches, Scourges, a fucking Voidraven and some other shit apparently coming in the mail. File this under 'shit I can't be bothered to do' but tragically I owe him a favour of this magnitude. Anybody with a suggestion as to how to farm out his infantry without spending a million years on each would be helping me a great deal.

I plan to actually start collecting minis since a friend is sending me a bunch of his spare Orks for Christmas, since he knows I love'em, so I figure to ask this now. In terms of paints, is it required to use the supply kits sold at most game shops with the tabletop stuff or can you use any old kits from regular hobby shops?

Any acrylic paint that isn't bargain basement Wal-Mart stuff should be good enough for most people...the reasonable ones, at least.

Gw paints are really good and you'll have to work much less with them.

But if you are just starting, than maybe its not that important. You can learn the basics with any mediocre type paint for half the cost.

Once you know what to do and how to do it, you can get the more expensive paints.

As far as paints go there are three main brands people use, all of which are a similar price and quality, Army Painter, Vallejo and Games Workshop.

Different people have different preferences, i like army painter whites and blacks and GW washes and shades for example.

Firstly listen to @Caddchef because that guy can paint him some motherfuckin' Orks! Filthy heretical greenskins aside, in my opinion, mediocre paints are fine, what you need are GOOD brushes. Don't buy GWs own brushes, they're overpriced. I recommend a Windsor Newton Size 000 Kolinsky Sable for fine detail and then a decent set of sable brushes for everything else. GW spray undercoats are, again in my opinion, a must. Corax White spray is a gorgeous undercoat to work from, as is Chaos Black. Read guides, google shit, don't be afraid to fuck up and remember, if you make a mess of a mini, it's not the end of the world, dump it in dettol disinfectant (MUST be normal brown Dettol) and the paint comes right off. Post your work here, you will get helpful feedback.
