Yeah, basically. ADB was pushing hard for Female Custodes, but was shot down by the higher ups, in a rare instance of his retarded lorefucking being vetoed. Which he bitched about publicly, in an attempt to get people to force GW to let him have his way.
Female Space Marines will be the end of 40k. It would piss off too many people and too many people have earmarked it as the point of no return for the setting.

You dont understand. The point is not to get "representation in the genre". The point is to get the genre to bend to and subsequently reflect the ideology. They want female space marines not because they want more women in 40k, they want it because they KNOW it will piss off all the undesirable fans who will bitch about. Then they can fight the counter revolutionaries by calling them misogynists, write a ton of thunk pieces for medium and IGN, signal their virtue to Twitter and get all their personal enemies at GW fired when they fail to stand up and clap for it all. Which in turn will allow them to get promoted and then hire all their woke friends to replace the purged staff.

I was kinda saddened that they fumbled the obvious "are you still going to be supporting Kill team" question with a "yeah, kill team isn't going anywhere, it has it's own rules cause it's it's own game."

Are female custodes that lore contradictory? If I remember correctly they are just guys that were individually bio engineered from a young age to a ridiculous degree. Which, unlike the SM that have specific organ transplant, isn't limited by gender. Regardless ADB really rapes the lore in The Master of Mankind and his pro-chaos bias was already shown to be bad in The End Times.
The Word Bearers are a really fun antagonists in the books. A group of deranged backstabbers who are justified in being traitors to each other.

Child of Chaos establishes Erebus as the penultimate dickbag and smug asshole of 40k. Yes, even more-so than Eldrad. He is glorious and shameless in his dickery and assholishness. Hard to go wrong with properly done WB.

Erebus getting his ass handed to him by Khârn in that one piece of writing is one of the best scenes of vengeance ever put into fiction.
So for context, Khârn was mildly upset that his buddy Argel Tal had been murdered by that slimy dickthistle Erebus. So Khârn meets up with him in the fighting pits. Erebus assumes this to be but a friendly bout between chaos champions.

The faithful! While the other legions have become distracted by the petty agendas of arrogant warlords, the Word Bearers are led by their enlightened apostles, spreading the Primordial Truth to the rotten Imperium!
They are one of my favorite factions, as I love science fiction factions that have a religious element to them. But what makes thee Word Bearers distinct from the Ad Mech or SoB is their worship of the daemonic. They are an army of mutated crusaders launching holy wars which have given me a lot of fun modeling opportunities (thank Games Workshop for the flagellent set).

I'm pretty sure the word bearers would have ended up worshipping the tyranids or something had chaos not found logar after his spanking. They aren't really picky.
Basically if you like a chaos legion I dont like, fuck you.
But on a more serious note. The word bearers have done fuck all in like... I can't even remember the last time they did anything. Have they literally been irrelevant since HH?

I really hope 9th ed gives us new hero/character models for most of the factions. Some of them are so old and are in desperate need of a face lift. Like Lucius looks awful, Azrael is old, most of the phoenix lords are resin or metal just to name a few. It would be great if some of these guys got some love for 9th.
