The saddest part of these are probably the same exact models used in the WoTS picture. I am suspecting that only the chaos marines are gonna get actual new models, which is kinda sad. But just the fact they are combining Custodes and SoS into one force is substantial enough of a change and would be a complete game changer for them. (O-or maybe valdor will come back!)

Yes, those are the exact same three models from the WoTS picture. Just the sight of both of (and only) the olive skintoned ones threw me off briefly. Can't blame a guy for being a little jumpy after their stupid pandering. And you'll note I didn't say it was a bad thing, just that it was oddly less random than I remember the Sisters of Silence being.

Tfw there is a girl I subject a bunch of autistic warhammer shit to. She will not budge and says Fabulous Bile looks retarded and that "no wonder girls dont like warhammer". Mind you that Magnus is her famous primarch.

Well that's fine. I'd suggest you leave her to her Barbie dolls and drop the subject.

There are girls who like Warhammer (I know one personally who loves Slaanesh, SoB and Stormcast Eternals), the ones that don't are the kind that want everything to be cuter and to fuss over the LGBT and feminist issues of the 41st Millennium rather than the actual war itself. It's best to keep them as far away from the hobby as possible, lest it end up like everything else.

Speaking of LGBT, have they actually reacted to seeing the forces of Slaneesh?

Bit bummed, because of all the focus on Bile, it means the rest of them are going to get the NPC treatment.

Psychic Awakening has been a bust for me. Paying $40 for a book that features two pages of rules for my faction, and a bunch of dull lore about said faction being soundly defeated by the Imperium again? That's a hard pass.

I don't even care for most of the new rules, because they highlight a problem with 8th (and probably 9th) in general, that of trying to repair bad rules with killer bullet stratagems. "Wow, we sure did lay a turd with the Haruspex. I know, let's just give it a stratagem that makes it okay-ish if you base your army around having multiples of this otherwise bad unit. Fixed."

I'm not an expert, but I'd say it's mostly flown under their radar since Slaanesh has been the least advertised Chaos alignment since boobies were taken away from Daemonette models. They also don't appear in any video game, whereas the other three have.

I wouldn't imagine they'd care all that much given that they would count as "aliens", their pressing issue would be having gay Space Marines more than anything. Can't have any people of the same sex hanging around each other for more than 5 minutes - even in times of war.

Yeah, there's not enough sexuality or sensuality in modern Slannesh to get their attention. And s/he isn't mentioned in the Warhammer 40k wikipedia entry, so none of them have ever heard of himher.

Someone hasn't been playing that apocalypse mod :^).

But yea, Noise Marines can't really be relevant in a big way anymore because of how they are in the lore. They are just random degenerates now, doing hookers and blow. MAYBE they'll do Merc work for you if you play sick jams. So the only way to really get what's going on with slannesh is to read a book, we all know how difficult that is.

GW has done a good job in diversifying Slaanesh’s pleasures from just sex. They focus a lot on the themes of addicition.

Read the Hedonities of Slaanesh battletome, they have three flavors of Slaaneshi devotees because Slaanesh has been captured. The Invaders are the traditional sadistic killers. Constant war bands being conquered and absorbed by rivals as they cause esoteric acts of destruction.

The Pretenders are led by vain generals who think that they can become Slaanesh. There’s even a part where they describe the intense sadness a Pretender’s followers have when their leader, who is immediately forgotten about once a new Pretender emerges.

The Godseekers are speedfreaks with mutated sensory organs searching for the location of Slaanesh, thinking that they’ll be rewarded for finding it. None of them will find it, because Slaanesh is located outside of reality.

Not to mention one of the best new characters, Syll’Esske, the power couple of a Herald and a Daemon Prince that love each. Not joking, Slaanesh officiated their wedding after they held off a Khorne army that invaded Slaanesh’s Palace.

Agreed. Warhammer has survived as long as it has because it has largely refrained from using the lighter sides of emotions, most notably love. Without love, you can't really play Pin the Rosary on the Homo, because failing to explore any sort of sexual identity or orientation makes it moot altogether. Those who proclaim they are LGBT generally want it expressed in the media they consume, and without any sort of love or sexual expression, they have no interest since they can't pursue that avenue of gratification.

That leaves people who just want to belong as part of the group and play the game, and those are the kind of people you want. Warhammer is about conflict, not romance. The very uncommon instances where it is used (e,g.: Black Library, The Tomb King's storyline), it's only as a way to create greater suffering and pain. In a universe that wants eternal conflict to push product, that's entirely the way to go.

The women I know who play AoS also play stormcasts. I knew a girl who played 40k, she had a small Tau detachment. It has occurred to me that they don't give a shit about feminist issues or representation, it's just that space marines are definitely not for everyone and focusing your entire game around that one faction as superhero do-gooders is completely unnecessary and dumb. There are multiple ways to get into this hobby, through lore, through painting pauldrons, but that doesn't mean it's the freaking end. I discovered I enjoyed playing Orks by playing against an ork player.
