i can understand the sentiment, especially given the fact that termies are basically the troop under dreadnoughts.I actually don't like the centurions. It feels like Termies got forgotten in power creep and they gave the role to someone else. I know it doesn't make sense next to my enjoyment of Warsuits. Take the waist out and make it a squat unit and I'm ok, but for Space Marines I think they are dumb
agreed, though is there anything they can bring over from the 30k selection?Space marines have too many vehicle and armor options already, nobody can deny this.

Didn't Forge World come out with books that list the units you can bring from 30k into 40k, like Relic Contemptor Dreadnoughts or Hellforged Contemptor Dreadnoughts?
While I agree Space Marines get too many toys, I still like it more than most of their kit from Indominus box, and like the flavor of a dreadnaught light that doesn't require a cripple.
Well, back in the RT days Dreadnoughts were piloted like any other machine and didn't need the dude to be wired in, so, less stupid than you think. Just so long as it doesn't get jump jets like the Tau do...
That is the entire point of Terminators, the Warsuit still provides nothing as far as I'm concerned. Stealth is meant to be left to the Scouts, as is the purpose of having less armour and previously exclusive sniper rifles; not some stupid Rumble-in-the-Jungle machine.
There's simply too much bloat and not enough reduction. Have they pilfered their own copy of Warp Spiders yet? Because that's about the only thing I can recall that Space Marines didn't have from the Eldar. Guess they'll be getting Crisis Battlesuits after that.

I feel like terminators haven't grown with centurions filling the role Termies should, and two wound primaris, 3 wound in Gravis armor, making them not feel so special.
I see the Invictus as more akin to IG sentinels than a tough walking tank.
Wait for the reveal that the go kart is a transformer and the child carrier is the robot form. The child carrier is still sillier than the go-kart, that's for sure.
why not just play with one of the older editions, say 5th? i mean surely theres others about who are doing the same. You know, I think I'm gonna sell my Necrons. GW is cementing their lighter tone in 9th. The only Necrons that are still cool to me are Flayed Ones, and I can't build too much on those alone.

So how many people are planning to get the new box set? Im still sorta on the fence about it. I was planning on using the marines obviously, but still not sure about the necrons. Im the kinda guy that doesnt like reselling hobby material, so I would have to figure out something to do with them.
Yea my space marine flavor of choice are Blood Angels, I guess Ill do it. Maybe Ill just make a little force of necrons to fuck around with.I've been getting closer and closer to tipping over the fence on starting an army. Like getting a squad just to paint and see how it goes. I've signed up for a few giveaways of the box set as a sort of "If the Emporer wills it, my wallet will serve," in that I'd probably buy more to make the army I'd like.
But considering if I were to make an army, it'd be a Raptors chapter Space Marine army... it's not a good fit. I feel like that box set wants to be Blood Angels with the Bladeguard, Chainsword Intercessors, Judicar, Sword and Stormshield Captain and Lieutenant. This is speaking as someone who has minimal understanding of play and would be more driven by flavor to what I'd want in an army, the Eradicators seem interesting, the bikes, chaplain, and Lieutenant would be a maybe include.
Also in today's 9th edition Ork article:

Looks like Eradicators are Primaris Devistators with a Plasma Canon and Heavy Bolter option.
Wait...

Is that an Eradicator Sargent with a Plasma Cannon and a Plasma Pistol? By the Emporer I hope that mad man gets a stratagem to explode on a six like a fucking vehicle carrying that much plasma.

I've seen exploding vehicles really swing a fight(against the opponent and the owner) and that seems really strong. Definitely can't bunch anything of value too close together with Kamikaze Orks on the field.
