Having now caught up since the end of November, damn are you guys autistic. BL novels literally don't matter. GW has said this many times. They're just material advertising to either a) get you to give them more of your money than you already have b) a means of advertising to get people to jump from buying novels to purchasing models or c) a way of siphoning money from people interested in Sci-Fi but not wargaming. The only "lore" that matters is what's actually printed in the rule books of the core game.

Whether it be BL, Marvel Comics, movies, or video games, none of it matters. All of those things are just advertising to get you to buy the "real" product; little unpainted autism soldiers.

Yeah, I think he's suffering from TFS syndrome.
What do you expect when he let one of those losers get involved in his project? Those guys are a cancer.

I think that used to be the case with BL but nowadays with the success of Horus Heresy they found a singular narrative much more lucrative. Look around a lot of 40k people online only care for the lore.

Some personal comments on my custodes changes. Almost everything got cheaper aside from allarus that went up 5 points. Meaning that currently the army is even more threatening. You thought you had trouble with 3 custodes? Get ready for FOUR CUSTODES!

Our banner is now free, which is B-B-BASED and and helps pay for the extra cost of allarus.

Unstoppable Destroyer can no longer pile away, people are saying this was known, but new to me. I like taking them as shadowkeepers anyway.

They also fixed some shenanigans with out flyers(orion and area). Don't have either, and don't know what was wrong.

All in all you might see less allarus bombs, but the army didn't need that to stomp you into the dirt in 9th so far.

The "singular narrative" has always been a goal. The advertisement needs to reflect the product, after all. And they've always strived for this, but ultimately, when discrepancies occur the official line from GW has always been that rule book lore trumps anything else in terms of canonicity.

While the peripheral materials should work to reflect the lore of the rule books, my point is that ultimately anything that gets introduced in a novel that doesn't jive with the broader fluff is irrelevant since it can just be retconned away later or outright ignored.

In terms of details that actually matter, not much has really changed from the lore established in yon olden days of Rogue Trader, and often things that have been forgotten from that era are revived and brought back. The only thing that has really changed permanently has been the title of the Imperial Army and the rank titles of Space Marine chapters. And the color of the Dark Angels. Besides that, there have been two new armies and that's it (Necron and Tau. Even the 'nids were present in Rogue Trader)

Besides this, the rest of it is all there. Gene Seed, the Heresy, the battle on board the Vengeful Spirit, multiple factions of Eldar, the Ruinous Powers, Ollanius Pious, the Primarchs, Thunder Warriors, even a bunch of the named Marines, all of it has been there since the beginning.

Any dumb stuff in a novel really doesn't matter unless it gains so much traction in the fandom that it ends up getting a model and makes it's way to the tabletop. Hell, even the dumb shit has been around since the beginning. In an issue of "Challenger" magazine by Games Design Workshop there was an article about an all-female chapter of Space Marines, so people have been whining about that since 1989. And if in over 30 years THAT hasn't bled over onto the table, none of the other dumb shit will either.

All in all, at the end of the day GW doesn't care about any of the periphery. All of those products are just there to sell toys autism soldiers. And to make that work, the advertisements need to be as close as possible to the real lore so that when people cross over and finally buy a rule book they aren't confused.

Edit: Even the concept of Sisters of Battle goes all the way back to Rogue Trader. In the very first book, too. Hit up the trove and check the PDF of the first edition. One of the final pieces of art depicts Sister Syn shooting a member of the Rainbow Warriors in the chest. The nuns just didn't get a proper army list because GW took too long hammering out the details that it got pushed back until after 2nd edition was brought to market.

I'm surprised you aren't following up this post with one about the Blood Angels.

Oh no I agree even look at all the fluff right now I feel GW does not want to forward the setting any much considering they straight up admitting to doing retcons for both the Indominitus Crusade and the Plague Wars. On top of that at this point various Primaris "Plot" points have been retconned or have not been mentioned in forever. Primaris curing mutations, the dreadnoughts microwaving pilots, can chapters trust the primaris cawl gave them (apparently Dark Angels just sent all of them on suicide missions and love making their own primaris brain slaves).

It’s a Warhammer thread on Kiwi Farms.

Oh void dragon, your so cool, and now youre cheaper then the nightbringer! people might play you now!
With jokes like that you should do stand up. I doubt the extra 20 points is going to make any difference in the long run.

Not much changed for Necrons so it’s business as usual but lol at anyone who bought the Primaris Invader ATV.

It's a damn shame if anyone found places that make digital copies of the WH books available at no cost to the consumer, in pdf, epub, and similar formats, entirely free of charge but only in minecraft, of course.

I'm not saying I've searched for such things, but I would imagine that megaupload links might be posted on the boards of the 400lbs gamergater russian hacker trump-strategist know as Chan. In minecraft. of course.

EDIT - Upon inspection, my entirely theoretically collection of electronic novels contains items not found in that totally legal listing.

I've never been a Dark Elf fan for the most part, but I've always loved Lokhir Fellheart, so I went ahead and bought one. Guess I need some Corsairs now.

I’m sorry if this is late but I noticed that the space marine heroes are the same sculpts as the space marine adventures. So, if you want either the terminators or the normal marine sculpts don’t pay scalpers. Just wanted to give you all the heads up just in case you didn’t know. They don’t include everything obviously but it has a lot of them. *Edit* The heavy flamer for example was a part of the Japanese set but not the American and a few of the sculpts weren’t included. Hope this helps since the first series in particular is a lot more expensive now and series 2 is getting up there in price too.

I love how bland the ultramarines terminator looks.

I always wonder since these marine releases along with the Death Watch Marines were basically actual "Truescale" marines before primaris. While I love the models I still see a lot of people dont accept primaris due to lore reasons. The lore is not amazing (but fuck you I wanted stealth marines and I like Phobos) I find it odd how some people admit they would like primaris more if the lore reasons was just "oh they got new equipment"
