Whyy are people so out of touch when it comes to charging for their mediocre paint? I wouldn't even factor the magnets into the cost because I consider that mandatory for forgeworld kits.

I do not understand even buying painted models individually since there is no way people can paint exactly the same. So it would look really out of place. At least to me its like the guys who never paint their models but still continue to buy and play with grey plastic like you could probably not buy any new models for a couple of months and get a commission on the shit you have.

I could only understand getting a commission done for something like a primarch or centerpieces. But even then I'd want to do it myself

Oh god, what's this about GW hiring a head of Hasbro / WoTC to appeal more to normies? Nick mentioned something about hiring someone to appeal to the "mainstream."

Edit:

Hasbro / WOTC = Woke. Appeal to Normies + Woke Exec = Wokeshit.

fuuuuck.

The hilarious part about the attempts at make the Warhammer-verse mainstream is that it’s stories are just as convoluted as comics. Try and explain to an average Joe wtf a primarch is and how they came to be.
Tell them about the Lizardmen which are at the service of giant psychic frogs which were probably created by some long dead civilisation in a war against star gods and robots.

You can't normalize the lore without going "star wars legends" levels of scrapping. How do you plan your safe, mainstream-appealing multimedia Marvelesque product with shit like Enslavers, Servitors, Daemonculaba, the current Warp or Engines of Pain. This is why, each time they try a new iteration of the "Ultramarines are SpaceSuperheroes!©" just sends me into a laughing fit. It is obviously not SM fans fault as they hate it too.

I unironically blame arch and various loretubers for helping normies get into the setting though so they are part of the problem.

I actually watched the video and the fake accent is still the worst. However, is he really trying to say normies are coming when he himself has a fanbase of YouTube normies? If anything the “normie” hordes came with Astartes blowing up the way it did.

Dawn of War. Dawn of War was what brought the normies. Total War Warhammer didn't help matters.

And I say that as someone who has accidentally collected like 6000 points of Blood Ravens.

Im split on the video game thing too since Dawn of War was what introduced me to the setting too although I finally started doing the miniature side instead of cooming over some random lore. Warhammer Online was what got me into Fantasy as well but when I tried to play Fantasy tabletop it was just too boring and too expensive to get into at the time so I stuck with the RPG like most people. I think video games help market something but you will only get a few people to actually buy into miniatures in the end of the day though I may be wrong if people actually buy into Old World.

Drukari looks like they are having a good time. 2 decent boxes, and the codex already has some cool stuff.

Well they did show an eldar for a second. They are just setting it up to be T'au vs eldar
They should have learned from the old ones not to create/modify an entire species to use as a distraction.
edit: this was an ancient reply I scrapped that still stuck despite lack of any cookies etc. odd.

vermintide and the smash success of total wawa 2 actually brought in a ton of people who were immediately mad when the cool universe they had been brought into was immediately smashed, cummed all over and then turned into the greater matt-wardiverse.

Actually I think this might be shitposting but Ward left because Age of Sigmar happened. He was apparently always a Fantasyfag at heart and when GW axed it he had no reason to stay in the company. I never thought that was the case since he was part of the abortion that was the Chaos demons and the defense of "Well they are super strong in the lore!".

Age of smegma being too much for matt-ward should be a warning call to anyone involved.

Did some research on GW's head of entertainment, Finn Arensen. He has decades in the field of promoting animated entertainment. A point made on his Linkedin profile says he helped to greenlit the first Cartoon Network show entirely made by a European studio, which was The Amazing World of Gumball. His work with Hasbro was all about establishing connections with stakeholders in various types of media, such as gaming and streaming companies to promote Hasbro's brands.

My bet is that his role at GW is going to be utilizing those connections he has to greenlit GW's animated productions. Companies are going to hesitate to work with a company whose flagship product is a genetically enhanced, technological advanced, soldier-from-childhood indoctrinated warrior monk. But with the reputation of someone who has been in the industry backing GW, it might change their minds.

Finn's other role is going to be acquiring studios to make these animated shows. He has the connections to European studios, which will lessen the woke and American influences. Not to mention that they will be easier for GW to connect with as they would be in similar time zones.

I could see GW establishing their animation as a niche in the 18-45 demographic as an adult animation with a serious tone. I don't see any graduate of CalArts being involved in a Warhammer product, but it could get some of the more seasoned animators involved. I'd like to see Gennedy Tarkovsky have his hand at Warhammer.
