Id like a Raptors white dwarf but im fine using Raven Guard rules. I honestly think the next WD chapter might be the Astartes guys to capitalize on the hype around their recent acquisition..

That would actually be a good marketing move, tbh.

The day of reckoning has come, will we get a proper customizable kit like the old boyz or some monopose mob like savage orruks™
I doubt, its gonna be some of the removed stuff like Warboss in mega armor, and some squig based units. but you never know. Necrons got warriors redone.

The Savage Orruks do have a little variance. There are some arms in the box that let you give them lowered arms, and you can pivot their weapon hands a little, but that's it. It's not like, say, the Hormagaunt kit that lets you go nuts and create a unique running pose and head tilt for each one.

Super late but I finished The Solar War today. Interesting to read a book that avoided any Primarch point of view characters but there was a LOT going on.

Some great set pieces such as
Sigismund's sphere "retreating" then blowing up a fucking moon then attacking and Jubal Khan crashing boarding torpedoes into his own ship to counter ambush Abbadon even though he ended up getting an abbreviated death

Some stupid shit
I thought the whole Mersidae Oliton/Samus thing was ham handed. The buried dagger did a better "hidden sleeper" with Tylos Rubio

All in all looking forward to starting book two tonight.

What I see when I see people cry about the excorcist changes.

For like half a year I randomly got into 40K through youtube videos and then started listening/reading some of the audiobooks/books. I think im finally ready to get into the figures. I got interested into getting the new Dark Eldar stuff, not really to play just to have some of the figures. I can't wait to absolutely butcher it since ive never built any figures or painted them before. Should be interesting whenever I save up for the box.

Try watching some painting tutorials. They've helped me.

Dark eldar can have a lot of pieces with a lot of sharp spikes but they also have a ton of nice ball and socket joints. If you use plastic glue instead of super glue you should be fine. Painting them if fun too, just remember less is more and you got this.

Apparently GW went back and nerfed a box and edited the shit out of the community page to hide it after everyone preordered.

Specifically:
  1. They named a bunch of new Kill Team Killzone (terrain) releases the same as previous releases from 2019/2020.
  2. These are 20% price marked up across the board.
  3. They released three articles hyping these releases using the OLD version of the boxes.
  4. Preorders start.
  5. They go back to the articles days later and change them to use the NEW and inferior version of the boxes.
  6. You will get LESS product for 20% more. And they hid this from customers by deceptively using the wrong photos.
For example, the crane in Sector Minitorum is not in the new version of the Killzone: Sector Minitorum. Sector Mechanicus does not have the large platform in the new version of the Sector Mechancius box.

Also this is the exclusive captain from the new 40k magazine, if you see him on your favorite recaster.

This new kill team stuff has just been handled badly

The sad thing is, I want Killteam to work, so badly, because it's the best way to get new players into the hobby and let me branch out into collecting other forces without accidentally collecting 8000 points of Space Marines all over again. And they're fucking it up.
