You could make the argument that there are additional costs that the Chinese 'suppliers' don't have to carry such as cost of the designer, marketing, and GW is working with a bigger scale so logical costs are greater... and probably some other things I can't think of.
But the China price does give a good indication that the material costs at least is not that high, since they're obviously not selling these models at a loss.

Since they use the original models and cast from them you're look at near equivalent quality, but with occasional bubbles in the resin, cast slippages, or small parts breaking off. Usually these are all in the easy to fix category. Although you do always run the risk of getting a bad recast, after all it is bootleg models.
There's plenty of youtube videos doing a side by side comparisons, and there are even reddit groups dedicates to reviewing specific recast providers. A bit of googling should give you plenty of both.

Quickly did a google search myself and this video shows a example of a not so bad recast (from Russia)
 
I used to buy recasts, I really don't miss working with them. Between un warping things, mold slips, cleaning releasing agent off, etc.....yeah. I sold off all my recast stuff once I got into printing.

Quick edit. I will say working with stuff from Black Market Miniatures was a great experience though. Pricey, but they specialize in 'remastering' those rare OOP pieces.

I only recast forge world shit that’s my line. GW I will let somewhat slide for not bending the knee to cheap chink labor like most companies.

Um, didn't GW start using China a year or two ago for their sprues?

I know that was supposedly why one of the more recent boxed sets went IMMEDIATELY out of stock, because the UK found out and the excuse of "no mostly material printed in the UK like maps and books" didn't fly, leaving them with some sort of tax penalty.

GW makes a select number of kits in China. Mostly terrain pieces and some miniatures but those have high QA issues.

On one hand, screeching manbabies sperging at SODAZ isn't going to help make him do what they want.
On the other, GW's actions here can either be contributed to malicious intent or bureaucratic incompetence.

I imagine it'll be something like that, since the angle everyone's hyping up is SODAZ being harassed by the evil fash and how we need to kick all those disgusting 40k fans out of the 40k community (and add female space marines).

To be fair, I did see a fair bit of comments giving SODAZ shit for "selling out", that and being forgotten due to GW incompetence. That would drain the spark from a lot of people I imagine.
 
Wonder what the next fans work GW will go for next.
They might go after TTS in a few years although I think a few authors in BL know about the series and are fine with it.
100% they'll go after something like the All Guardsman Party if it gets a new surge of popularity or if Shoggy tries to make money of it, the fact that its fanfiction is already shaky ground (although fanfiction I would argue that is better written then some 40k novels), the fact that it originates from /tg/ is a death sentence.

TTS is probably too big to go after or mess with. TTS has had a massive impact on the 40K community (for good and bad, although a lot of people do prefer the satirical lol-hammer take on it), so it's probably easier just to let them do there thing.

I just fully read up on this and frankly Arch is still retarded he’s just milking drama now. This dude gives out so much ammo to the other side it’s gonna fuck over the normal people at this point.

Like others have said this can become a catalyst to “fix” the 40k fanbase. Just attacking a guy for maybe working with GW is kinda dumb to be honest. Patreon bux are nice but getting real job experience even with GW is worth it to some of these guys.
