Wait...Were people dumb enough to use Mega.nz? You never do that as it's a terrible place to store anything. You also never directly link to it. It's why /tg share thread uses rebrand and right now since they're looking for a place to store files they're only using Mega the same way they used Vola before it died. Files stay up for 48 hours and removed. The reason why you don't use Mega to store files is because of how easy it is to get the account shut down with a DMCA and Mega will release all of the information on the account. There are better places to do this.
Some people haven't learned since MegaUpload got nuked 2012 (which is how Mega came to be in the first place).
Why would you use a brand and operate in a similar fashion to a service that was seized by the U.S. Department of Justice?
"Brand recognition"? At least use something else!

Seems like they were dumb enough to directly link to it too. So were some Youubters.

One of the worst things about Mega is that anyone can send in a DMCA. They wont bother to check if you actually own anything, they'll just nuke the whole account. It's why so many RPG troves get shut down in little less than a month. You got people like Daniel Fox who goes out of his way to DMCA shit that doesn't have his work on the account and trolls who do the same. There are a few more tabletop designers doing the same now too.

I often assume I'm being trolled when people earnestly tell me they bought citadel paints. In this current year, in these age of being swarmed with low-to-high end painting options. Scale75, Kimera, new AK, vallejo, etc.
my social circle in a nutshell.

end me.

the problem being there isn't really a good alternative considering the size and it being a growing archive (it doesn't help that some dumbfucks upload unpacked STLs which are like twice the size). it's not a singular release you drop as is that gets mirrored across the internet.
there are ways to share single or a bunch of archives, but how do you catalog them? torrent leaks your IP (and I don't know if they're dynamic by now to update them on the fly), so does IRC, most file hosters don't offer collections unless you pay and/or it would still mean you'd have to upload to several accounts at once etc. the files itself are big enough than you'd want to see a preview first before you waste your time and bandwidth on shit you don't need or already have...

there's is one option but that would require you mobile phone number, which you could spoof, but that can you lead to it's own issues.

I don't mind citadel paints. They always did great for me, except for metallics for which ... basically anything does better except retributor gold. Vallejo is great for silvery metallic stuff like iron or steel, for which GW's paints seldom do a good coverage. If I need to apply more than 1 layer of base paint, I consider it a failiure.

I experimented with some other non GW paints, but so far mostly I keep to GW because it worked out best.

>Now listen up im gonna say this loud and clear BITCH
>What you idiots need to realize here is it is your fault not mine
>It is YOU who is trying to hide these files from GW because you are guilty and realize it
>You have to hide these files or they get removed
>So you create vast secret organizations just to hide them

Why does this sound like a straight up GW shill wrote this? Guilty? For what lmao Gamza needs to be ran off youtube again. I am sorry for bringing this up but this is too rich coming from him.
Gamza is literally a manlet and not worth paying attention to.

Chinese package finally arrived.

The "ForgaWorld" bags again. I wonder if there's a Chinese company that casts this shit for the recasters, or if they're all the same group repeating their work across many names online. Or it could just be a coincidence. (Got these bags from both MI and some other recaster I don't recall the name of, and they had the EXACT same bags.

Chaplain in Mk... 4?

A little slippage of the mold here and there, but not too bad. The worst part was the Chaplain melee weapon, that arrived damaged and snapped more when I went to put it together. But it's not the end of the world.

I only really keep up with the Warhammer 40k lore so I dont know so much about the models but how big are the file sizes? Like how big is the file for say a Land Raider or a Rhino?

It's all about # of polygons. Vehicles, especially boxy Imperial ones, are surprisingly small. My Malcador/Leman Russ conversion comes in at only 231 mb. There are single characters that can easily hit 100mb.

Dumb question but why do Space Marines not wear hats? Working on my Custodes I have been thinking about already adding onto my Raptors but its mostly gonna be a small addition 2 ATVs, Stormspeeder, Phobos Apothecary, and a special intercessor squad I am calling Task Force 14100. One of my gaming guilty pleasures is Call of Duty so I thought why not make Captain Price and the sqaud into my tacticool Raptors army.

I found all the 3rd party bits and 3D printed bits I need along with some bits from GW kits. Ghost and Soap are easy plenty of mohawk and skull heads for 40k but the Boonie hat for Captain Price might just look really out of place for a marine since I rarely ever seen a marine wear a hat.

Space marines only go without a helmet for 2 reasons. 1) They are trying to be an inspiring presence, usually done by a chaplain, captain, or chapter master if done at all. These guys usually have an iron halo, which grants them better protection then their helmet anyway. 2) Some veterans find the HUD elements of the helmet sluggish, and choose to use their own sense with the risk of going without protection.

I dont know how often you were hats, but they arent going to be staying on for 90% of the things a space marine does.

I expected as much

Besides the answers given above, the whole not wearing a helmet is lampshaded in the books (I think Ultramarines novels) where characters outright say not having an helmet is absolutely retarded. In the Space Wolves novel the reasoning for being helmetless is that the senses of the space wolves are greatly limited by the helmets (being able to smell your enemy before he can see you is worth it for the reduced protection).

Having said all that, the models definitely run on rule of cool, so if you want hats on your marines, go for it. I actually started a /tg/ reply chain in one of the threads a few years ago about the only theme of Space Marines I didn't know anyone had done -- Cowboys. Evolved into a lot of theorycrafting about a Texas themed Space Marine force out in a rural, agricultural part of the Imperium.

When it comes to KO companies in China now they tend to change names and that's it. That's due to the new laws in the country. 3rd party Transformer companies and many Transformer KO companies have done the same.

When working with metalics a lot work better when you dab small sections instead of using brush strokes, like chromes and other shiny metals.

New boyz sprue seems to be monopose with the exception of the nob, and you only get 3 shoota sculpts, 5 choppa sculpts, a heavy weapon sprue (which you can probably kitbash with some percsice snipping and greenstuff to be either loadout if you have the bits lying around). All in all very sad.

Choppa boys are what you really want but if you're a badmoons player and were excited about the new sculpt you're basically fucked. I just went and got an old boy kit to mix them in with the combat patrols for later. It really seems like they want you to diversify your army and not just make a boy horde with all the changes they've made with the 9th dex. And they REALLY want you to buy the buggies but I expect nerfs as soon as the next chapter approved comes out even if orks are'nt that big of a menace in the meta.
