It does somewhat, in strive I can atleast play a brazillian with a decent connection but then again i'm on PC so I'm fighting PC players, console players on the other hand take in your point, so it just means that the fucking crossplay disable features needs to work to avoid the absolute connections of console.
I dunno, man. I play on ps4 with crossplay on and I’ve only had like three matches where there was a internet issue. Been working fine for me.

When i'm speaking of the netcode I'm not only talking about getting rollbacked, even passively the netcode affects how you play due to lag compensation, combined with the game hit box it makes like the picture I posted above happen. Even at three bars connection on 1v1 I might not get roll backed but I on a coin toss I can spike someone above me when my hitbox is supposed to hit downwards, because the hitboxes don't match up with their visualization. The netcode still needs improve along with other issues but i'd say netcode more due to me pretty much being forced to play against console wifi's.

I don't know what to tell you. Just like @SteelPlatedHeart, I've rarely had the kind of issues you're talking about online. I think you just got bad luck with the matchmaking.

I'm starting to get net issues too. Maybe it's the Euro servers only?

Also the EVO tournament is so fucking big lmao. A lot of focus went into that and you know it's gonna flop because the game is too fresh and unpolished.

Evo tournament was pretty good. A Bugs and Velma team made it to the finals, but then a team they beat came back from losers bracket and beat them 6-0 with Wonder Woman/Tom & Jerry team up.

If I have to make an WB account , thats a good way to not get me to play their game.
Eh, it’s mainly there to allow cross-save/progression and all. All I really had to do was just sync my PlayStation account. If the evo thing is anything to go off of, it’ll also be used to get codes for bonus cosmetics and such.

I'm gonna second this. I'm on PS4, occasionally I get a laggy match, but it's always because someone else in the match is a 3rd worlder on McDonald's wifi. There probably is some hit/hurtbox desync I'm not noticing because it's so minimal that only a Melee tournament autist would notice it.

I'd say this game has a pretty strong netcode for being both F2P and cross-platform, certainly makes Nintendo look like lazy and incompetent faggots comparing the online functionality of Multiversus and Smash.

He has a point though. The expected audience is 16-22, yet the game has characters from GoT and Loony Tunes. Who is this game for?
That can also be applied to smash bros. You got family friendly IPs like Super Mario and Sonic The Hedgehog along with more mature ones like Metal Gear, Fire Emblem and Persona.

Who is that game for? The answer to both of those questions would be: People of all ages and fans of the those IPs.

Real Talk: No westerner knew who the fuck Marth and Roy were until they came out in Melee. Smash for a long while had the japan fanbase in mind until Smash really blew up in the west, which is how we got so many guest characters that western audiences know and love starting with Solid Snake in Brawl.

Pretty sure that the reason why Snake was in Brawl was because of Kojima himself wanting him in personally during the start of development.

Given how many people have been playing it, seems like a rather silly thing to claim as a fault. “This game has a bunch of random characters from random shows and got a bunch of people to play it. Who wants to play this?”

In other news….

In 1v1 only 5% of characters are actually any good.
In Teams, you will get matched with complete retards against teams of duo.

Ranked is not gonna be very fun.

At least now I know why people complained about Taz. Most people spam just one move (Shaggy's side-dash, Superman's flight, etc) without any thought or reason. Manageable in 1v1, but not so much in 2v2 where they knock your teammate out 4 times in a row.

Not true. In ranked, you'll be more likely to run into players that know what they're doing. Especially once you start climbing the latter.

As for move spam, I disagree with Superman players as their plan is to drag you into the blast zone with that move.

Shaggy players though? For sure. Most matches I've had against them has almost always been them spamming that shit (with a some charging inbetween) and hoping they hit me with at least one of them.

I wouldn't know about move spam for any other characters though as any other character requires people put actual effort into ringing me out. Even Bugs still needs to knock you into the air to before he tries juggling you.

The only time I've had a problem with a duo team so far is duo Iron Giant. One IG is pretty easy to counter with my main (Lebron), but two is absolute bullshit. When they're spamming together, it's almost fucking impossible to get close enough to their hurt box to actually do anything (and most of his attacks negate projectiles). That's the only match so far where I genuinely felt "these faggots need to fucking kill themselves". I know staying above IG is usually the best option, but trust me, it doesn't matter when it's two of em.

Duo Finn's are awful too, but that's mostly because of how jank his hit boxes are right now.

Side note: I hope they put out a decent handful of stages sometime soon. Most of the ones we have are ok, if bland, with the exception of Mansion. That stage can go die of a malignant tumor.
