I can definitely relate to that second map, I've lost count of the amount of times I wound up without a ball because it went in the pit. Its extremely satisfying spiking someone into that pit though. I imagine a good duo Steven team can make that stage an absolute living hell though, super edge guarding capability + one of the best spikes in the game.Hoping so too, getting Batcave or the map that's two small platforms with the hole inbetween when playing Tom & Jerry makes me feel like

Because unless I'm shooting Jerry at the floor, he's going off that edge, guaranteed.
The entire roster is viable if you're not running headfirst into the backpack. Spacing your shit out and playing with your hitboxes goes a long way.In 1v1 only 5% of characters are actually any good.
Superman's flight is a lot easier to counter than the up+B that throws you into the blast zone for almost free. Shaggy has a lot of armor on his attacks for no good reason. At least now I know why people complained about Taz. Most people spam just one move (Shaggy's side-dash, Superman's flight, etc) without any thought or reason. Manageable in 1v1, but not so much in 2v2 where they knock your teammate out 4 times in a row.
Absolutely agree... picking up T&J recentley there are several stages where I just end up being solo Tom 90% of the match due to excessive Jerry mishandling, Bat Cave and Haunted Mansion being the worst. I want stages more than characters with some more big options. Cromulons was literally just another half-sized Final Destination since the side platforms will just get destroyed quickly. Destructible stage elements should really regenerate after some time like Smash Bros. or every stage is going to end up the same tiny flat platform 70% already are.Hoping so too, getting Batcave or the map that's two small platforms with the hole inbetween when playing Tom & Jerry makes me feel like

It's not fun though.Move spam is easy to deal with once you learn which moves have armor or take priority. I’ve fought a few people who only spam one move, but once you either attack them from a different angle or use a move that armors through theirs, you can easily break through and kick their asses.
I once again disagree, but I’m not gonna get into an argument over it since that would be silly. It's not fun though.
The game needs better mechanics to deal with projectile assault, dodge spam or move spam.
Double dodge mid-air is a pain to deal with and super reliable.
Projectile spam is annoying cause not all characters have a shield or a safe way to deal with harassment from distance.
And I think move spam is so annoying cause there is no real hitbox colliding/reacting.
This game is mechanically simple and it feels bad at higher level of play.
That's helpful. Even in old 90's fighters, some characters had weird-ass hitboxes, so it would be interesting to see how they positioned the hurt/hit boxes on each character. Also, there are definitely some kind of issue with hitboxes, wether it's lag or not. The devs already admitted and mentioned they're overhauling and making them visible for training mode,
I hate the Batcave more than the Mansion. I swear, any time I try to kill someone the stupid Batmobile is right in the way and keeps everyone alive a lot longer.I hope they put out a decent handful of stages sometime soon. Most of the ones we have are ok, if bland, with the exception of Mansion. That stage can go die of a malignant tumor.
So far the thread has been almost all mechanical gameplay talk, so here's a bit of Smash-esque cosmetic feature wishing. When I first picked up the game I wanted to play Tom & Jerry simply because I am a big fan of the cartoons although it took awhile getting used to the game's mechanics with simpler characters before I felt comfortable with their relative complexity. I am quite happy they used all of Tom's iconic screams ripped straight from the shorts, but I would love to see some more series deep cuts. I would really like to see a Butch & Nibbles/Quacker skin as that seems like a straightforward and easy thing to do. Probably more farfetched, but I think it'd be hilarious to have this sound clip used in a few episodes as an alternate death cry.
It will be interesting to see how they do the cosmetic stuff going forwards, but as they have embraced memes enough to make it Shaggy's entire kit I hope we get some one off stuff not related to playable characters, but in the WB umbrella such as The Dover Boys.
I remember that game, Tom and Jerry in War of the Whiskers. Decent little Power Stone clone.Googling Butch+Nibbles and I came up across this.

(The models here actually look better than Multiversus' though)
Buffs and nerfs are coming Monday, so I’m betting you’ll be seeing less Finns and Bugs after that.I dunno if there is some hidden MMR system or the game has just been out long enough where the tryhards are outpacing the casuals, but every match I fight now is a complete sweat-fest against a Bugs or Finn at level 30+ (my highest level is 18.) and a 800+ win badge who all play the exact same frustrating and boring safe attack only approach. It's god damn exhausting... It's such a break when I see a rare other character who plays differently. I haven't played Smash in a long time, but I don't remeber getting so mentally fatigued after only a handful of matches.
The problem is not with Finn and Buggs, but with the kits of most characters.Buffs and nerfs are coming Monday, so I’m betting you’ll be seeing less Finns and Bugs after that.
Finn will also be taken off the “free character” rotation too.
