You are the reason the games industry keeps upping the ante with these aggresive monetization systems, and why it will get much worse than this game's terrible model. Not taking it further with you, you're arguing like a redditor defending a massive corporation jewing players.
And you sound like a Twitter addict coming across someone who doesn’t 100% have the exact same political opinion as you do, so cry about it. I didn’t even say that the game was justified in its current form, just that it wasn’t a scam, you massive baby. It’s not hard to just not spend money on the game, you know.

Anyway, from what I’ve seen online, a lot of the character leaks are based completely off of data-mined Rick lines. I’m not gonna post them here for those that don’t want to be spoiled, but it’s a funny way for leaks to happen.

Well, I think both your arguments have merit in that the game can be played for free with technically everything being obtainable through grinding, and also that the grinding is made intentionally unpleasant after the early carrot dangling period to draw players into the ecosystem and invest them to try to tickle money out. If the battlepasses continue to have enough gleamium to buy the next pass after this first free one then there is a decent path to extra character currency that while still tedious in the length of the time it takes is super fast to knock out now that tasks can mostly be done in single player rifts, but if they change the amount then I will lean more towards it being more predatory and less worthwhile.

It's not the worst F2P model I've ever seen by a wide margin, but probably slightly worse than average. Let's just apologize for the harsh words... it'd be fine if you called each other faggots or niggers or troons or whatnot, but I think slinging around Redditor (with the hard 'r' even!) and Twitterbrained are pushing it too far.

I can agree with that.

Honestly, even without getting XP from fights, I’ve been progressing pretty well with the battle pass. Hitting level 22 in a week is pretty good overall.

I was being a bit of a seething fag, still think making excuses for this kind of model is how we get progressively more extractive slop, but if you enjoy it, then that's fine I guess.

Corpo doesn't care about you freefags, so the free shit is just a way to hook you into being paypigs forever. That's the only reason the free shit is there to begin with.

What I noticed is that some characters got nerfed (Batman, Tom&Jerry, Taz, Jake) for no reason.

As a Tom & Jerry main there are 2 nerfs that really bug me. The one I hate the most is that the Jerry rocket is now much less controllable and that was like the most fun move in the kit, now it comes out super slow and past the first second you can't even control it outside of very slight vertical adjustment making it way to easy to accidentally shoot him off the edge and you also can't just jump out of the animation and defend/attack while the rocket continues on it's previous trajectory. The other is the nerf to hitting the dynamite with the racket... you gotta use the perk for it and it brings your ammo down from 3 to 1 which is way too much, I just use the basic 5% attack + defense character perk now because the character perks now just make you worse.

This game isn't bad, but I feel it's going to get more agressive in the future with monitization. I have no idea why Agent Smith can't be obtained normally, and needs an insane amount of grinding which many have complained as being almost impossible unless you play nonstop everyday. I hope this is a temporary thing and they won't have fighters that can only be unlocked like this. Honestly they should have just made this game a standart release and not this live service junk.

The characters winrates are avaiable here btw

funny notes (as of the time of this post):

1-The top 3 in both modes are Iron giant, banana guard and wonder woman. Next are Gizmo and steven or joker.
2-The bottom 5 of both lists are Jason, Jake, velma, rick and Lebron.
4-Highest win rate is iron giant in 1v1 with 61.5%
3-Lowest win% is lebron with 34.9% in 1v1 (I can confirm he's a dead weight without drag dunk)
5-Highest pick rates in 1v1 are Harley > Bugs > Shaggy banana > WW. I wonder if they're free tho?
6-Highest picks in 2v2 are Bugs > shaggy > banana > WW > harley > jason
7-Lowest pickrate is velma (0.3%) then reindog (1%) and Taz (1.3%).
8-Despite having awful winrate, Jason is one of the most picked characters. 5th in 2v2 and 7th in 1v1.

Iron Giant is just such a poorly designed concept in 2v2, if they have a even slightly competent partner to distract at all really all you have to do is click any button recklessly and your high damage moves that all have kill potential will cover 1/4th of the screen and just score kill after kill on the 2 targets. Banana Guard and Wonder Woman just have a ton of lingering hitboxes that make them way easier to play and always unfairly kill my Jerry they aren't even trying because it's a strategy they just get to do it for free with every attack those useless those bastards erm... that is to say just better data, but infinitely more manageable than Iron Giant. If you dig through this thread you'll find my complain about IG's BS in the beta too.

Steel Plated Heart? Judging by his posting in this section, more like Steel Plated Homo.

What surprises me:
* Bugs, Finn, Morty and Shaggy are way too low; too many newbies tank the winrate (they're also free this week?)
* Hope the devs don't ballance based on the tierlist alone (first of all, they're not rank-separated, so it means jack shit)
* Taz is still high tier for some reason; I blame this on tiers not being separated
* Lebron is not that good, he's a high-skill B tier, Steven is not A tier, in 1v1 he's pretty mid, but that shield is broken rn

I don’t think Agent Smith is locked behind the boss thing, it’s just an opportunity to play him early/unlock him for free.

Also, battle pass exp for matches is now active, and all characters are unlocked for Training Mode.

Patch notes are out.

1.01 Patch Notes
By Player First Games
Jun 6, 2024
We wanted to take a moment to thank you all for the helpful feedback on Reddit, Discord and our other social channels. We’re diligently consuming all of your suggestions and will be making a number of changes based on the info we’ve gathered following launch.

Before we dive into various fixes and improvements coming in this patch, we wanted to mention that Iron Giant has been taken back to the shop for maintenance and is not available to play with right now. We should have a status update by next week.

We’re also planning to address several highly requested changes soon, such as the additional performance improvements, end of game stats, options to turn off team colors, the ability to swap side and neutral attack, and the addition of adjustable input buffer settings. We’ll keep you posted on timing.

Let’s dive in and see what’s new in this patch.

General

Lowered Hit Pause on all Hits by 10% in 1v1 modes
Players can now try all Fighters in Training Mode, including Fighters they do not own
Battlepass XP will now be granted after each PvP Match in addition to Events and Missions.
Bug Fixes

Fixed an issue where players could not complete daily rewards in Rifts Mode
Fixed an issue that was impacting performance on Xbox Series X|S
Fixed an issue where beam visual effects were occasionally invisible on PlayStation consoles
Fixed an issue where certain keyboard configurations would cause phantom inputs in matches
Fixed an issue with pause input conflicts in Training
Characters

Legend:
+ = Buff
– = Nerf
~ = Change
* = Bugfix
Note: Attacks callouts reference default controls.

Arya

Dash Attack
~ Reduced input buffer window for follow-up attacks
Banana Guard

The goal of this change is to reduce the extreme kill power on Banana Guard’s side specials and bring it more in line with the damage of the rest of the cast.

Aerial Side Special
– Reduced damage to 10 from 12
Ground Side Special
– Reduced damage to 12 from 14
Bugs Bunny

Neutral Special
* Fixed an issue causing the Safe to hit repeatedly and rapidly in succession
Garnet

Down Special
* Fixed an issue where Garnet and an enemy could be frozen at the end of her Star Grab
Gizmo

Up Special
– Ally attach cooldown now begins when Gizmo detaches from his ally, instead of beginning when Gizmo attaches to his ally.
Iron Giant

The goal of these changes is to prevent Iron Giant from chaining certain sets of attacks infinitely. While these fixes address some of the issues on Iron Giant, it will require additional fixes to bring Iron Giant fully back online. Iron Giant will remain down for repairs until those fixes are implemented in a future patch.

Ground Down Attack
~ Knockback angle is now more horizontal
Aerial Neutral Attack
~ Final hit now always knocks away regardless of charge
Ground Side Attack
– Jab first hitbox is slightly smaller
Rage Mode Pilot Special
~ Reduced strobing visual effects
Rage Mode Up Special
– Reduced final hit damage to 5 from 6
Jake

Aerial/Ground Up Special
* Fixed some issues with game performance
Jason

Ground Down Special
* Fixed an issue where one player would disappear when Jason grabbed two players with the sleeping bag
LeBron

Basketball
– Basketball can now only hit one time per target
Marvin

Aerial/Ground Neutral Attack
* Fixed an issue where Marvin could ringout opponents instantly due to a Side Special projectile interaction with Neutral Attack
Reindog

Aerial Side Attack
~ Knockback Angle is now more horizontal
Aerial Up Attack
~ Knockback Angle is now more horizontal
Shaggy

The goal of this change is to not allow Neutral Air Attack to combo back into the Jab combo at all damage levels. There are feel issues introduced with this change that we will address in the next patch.

Aerial Neutral Air
~ Base Knockback increased to 1700 from 1300
~ Knockback Scaling increased to 14 from 13
~ Knockback Angle is more horizontal
~ On-Hit cancel window delayed by 10 frames
Steven

Aerial Up Attack
~ Sweet spot hitbox delayed 1 frame later to match when Steven has his hands clapped together
Aerial Down Attack
– On-Hit cancel window delayed by 3 frames
Stripe

Aerial Down Attack
+ More downward momentum is maintained on attack start-up
Taz

Aerial/Ground Side Special
+ Increased damage on non-cooldown tornado final hit to 8 from 7
Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman’s lasso was a bit too oppressive to play against without any limiter, so we decided to add a short cooldown to the ability.

Aerial/Ground Neutral Special
– Added an 8 second cooldown for lasso

All characters in Training is back, and you get pass exp for pvp now. The fact these two even needed to be patched in is a joke tbh.

I'm not sure why people put Steven in the S tier, because he's definitely no S-tier material

Steven and Gizmo got buffed hard by the hitbox changes cause their stubby normals are very consistent now and at beat/trade other moves often. Note how they nerfed his D-air because that move was always busted as fuck and would combo into itself.

The nhanced hitlag makes his shield even better cause its easier to punish people and get away with it, especially in 2v2.

He's also indirectly stronger because his counters (Taz, Jake, Supes) were hard nerfed while none of the top 5 winners have spammy air grabs or good aerial armor breaking moves (closest is Adam's clap).

Patchnote wise i find hilarious that they nerfed lebron, it was 100% because of the viral tweets of lebron infinite bouncing 30 balls but the ball being an infinite hitbox was a stupid unhealthy idea in the first place, but at least that made him an unironically good zoner. Give him the good dunk back because right now he's basically a throw pick.

edit: you get 10 exp for winning a match fucking L - o - L i'm past level 20 so i need 3k~ exp to level up the battle pass, i'd need to win 300 matches :)

Apparently they’re planning on boosting it, but they’re trying to find a balance so it doesn’t break the economy of the game.

people call us extremists, but this thread is much more civilized than anything i've seen on platforms of jewish inclination.
That said, rip lebron. i was finally interested in trying him out even though he was trash and now they nerfed him to the absolute bottom (where he already was anyway).
