Was Chris an accident?

At Borb's age, he was almost certainly an accident. Worst case scenario, Barb used Chris to trap Bob.
 
Chris wasn't AN accident, he was THE accident.

I honestly believe that if somebody could have told Barb during her pregnancy that her child was going to be autistic, she would have broken out the ol' wire coat hanger.
 
Even if they'd planned on having a child, I highly doubt they were prepared for the THING that they'd have to deal with (and enable in Barb's case).

Though I highly doubt they wanted a kid, retarded or not.

Yeah I think Chris was an accident, but Borb were already an unholy union so I don't think it mattered too much to them.

I don't think so. Chris said that they had not slept tpgether in twenty years or something like that.
They just stayed together for their adult autistic child.

Don't forget that period of separation when bob live in a different city so Chris could go to a different school and barb stayed at Branchland.
