Chris believes he embodies certain qualities regardless of his actions, appearance and statements. He believes having a subscription to playboy makes him the living epitome of manliness and straightness so he can't understand how dressing like a woman and acting very feminine reflects on him. The same could be said about his attitude towards his religion. Chris views himself as a perfect Christian despite his very heretical views and actions. Now that I think about it...you could say the same about everything Chris believes he is.
It's a lot easier to just say: "He's really, REALLY stupid."
That's a fair point. I guess I consider it hypocrisy because he wants acceptance of a minority to which he belongs, but he won't even consider acceptance of a minority that doesn't benefit him.
I'm not sure if that qualifies as hypocrisy, though. I think it depends on the specific minorities. For example, I don't think it's hypocrisy for homosexuals to be against acceptance of paedophiles.
Don't get me wrong, Chris is a huge hypocrite, but I think his take on tomgirlism and homosexuality is more part of his insanity and stupidity and generally being a horrible person than hypocrisy, because to his (for want of a better word) thinking they actually are two completely separate things.
It seems to me that he just gets into a frothing rage about men, particularly their bodies.
Thing is, a normal, heterosexual male wouldn't get worked up over men or their bodies like what Chris does. Normal, heterosexual men simply don't care.
Chris' over the top reaction to homosexual men and men in general is not normal, even for homosexuals in denial. There is definitely something very wrong with Chris. It may well be that he has deeply repressed homosexual* tendencies, but if that is the case repressed homosexuality is probably the least of the ways he is messed up sexually.
* Before anyone takes issue, I am not saying here that there is anything wrong with being homosexual. There isn't. It is
repressed homosexuality that could be the problem. Along with whatever other issues Chris has with his sexuality.
Chris is a guy who only believes in whatever he thinks suits him. He can quote a single vs from Leviticus without realizing that the same book says that he can't shave the side of his face.
Chris constantly tries to retcon reality to whatever suits him best at the moment. Cherry picking sentences from a book is potatoes by comparison.
His opinion on homosexuality was probably brought on by the bullying.
I think the bullying was only one of many factors that contributed to forming Chris' take on homosexuality. Certainly it didn't help, but Chris and his upbringing are so messed up it's probably impossible to point to any one thing as
the cause for any of his little quirks.
I also don't think Chris views himself as transgender. I get the feeling that Chris thought that the tomgirl thing would attract women. Possibly because in his mind, women=attractive so he should dress like one to be more attractive.
I've always thought there is something very cargo cult like about Chris' methods. His tomgirl thing could be partly explained as his attempt to become the woman he hopes to attract (except, you know, he wants one that's employed to support him and easy on the eyes and so on) to sort of give the universe a hint. I guess it's something along the same lines as a hunter putting out decoys (except it actually works for the hunter).
Also he seems to not understand that gold diggers are a thing so turning everyone 51 would not actually end the problem entirely.
I'd just like to point out that not all women (or even most of them) who are into men over fifty are gold diggers, especially if the choice is between a quinquagenarian man and Chris.
While not a super villain per se, Chris kind of struck me as the kind of guy who if he had the power, he would kidnap women and force them to marry him, only for the Jerkops to foil him every time.
I'd also like to point out that the idea of Chris having any power whatsoever is a disturbing thought at best. One of Chris' few good points is he's so ineffectual.
Don't forget that he's assuming his old house will somehow become good as new again sometime soon, and is ignoring the evidence that he's never going to live there again.
Yeah, things are definitely going to get ugly there. Which is why I don't think Chris will "dry up" so much as just taper off until he finally disappears entirely. We will continue to occasionally get content from him, of a sort, but I think for the most part from here on out it ain't gonna be pretty.
