Loves is pretty good. So is Dixie.
Stopped at a Flying J in one of the Chicongo suburbs and had some very good pizza there. Of course, it was fresh out of the oven.

But you know what's really got me sold??

Casey's. damn... the pizza. the sandwiches. the little treat packs (like dipped pretzels and stuff)... So good for on the go!
Also the Mobils in my area are fantastic. They have Noble Roman's but I've never tried it. I just hit up the local Mobil for fruit or chips or bottled water.

Since we are on the subject, has anyone ever tried the cheeseburger "hotdogs" I see at 7-11? They are always there, brown and turning next to the regular hot dogs, so someone has to eat them. I've always been curious, but not THAT curious.
They are made by Johnsonville, I think

Pilot/FlyingJ sells them and they are my favorite things on the roller dealies.

My favorite regional gas station food has to be the Town Pumps in Montana though. They sell full meals in these rows of little deli cases with all sorts of variety. Nothing gourmet but way above anything you can get at any other truck stop. They also usually have a fairly well stocked grocery store in the place too.

There's also a chain truck stop in Wisconsin like it called Kwik Trip, I think, that is also really good.

Texas has Buc-ee's, a mega gas station. They have just about everything but I do love their breakfast tacos and burritos. A quick search shows they've expanded beyond Texas. What do those stations do with the space reserved to Texas souvenirs?

I grew up on Wawa and when I moved I missed them for years.

Now, after moving back east I stop at one every week after grocery shopping to get coffee or some other treat if I’m in the mood.

Their breakfast isn’t great but the breakfast burritos aren’t bad. Their cheesesteak hoagies are awful but I found most other sandwiches are decent.

The seasonal coffees are always good and I like their milkshakes. Mr. Guidestones loves their iced Lattes.

I have to say they have messed up my orders a couple of times but their customer service is really good about taking care of you and fixing the situation.

West of the Rockies, Maverik's aren't bad. Their whole thing is being the place where you stop on your way out to the lake or mountains or whatever. Cheap fuel, decent food, place to park if you are towing a boat.

They are catching on and I am very happy for it. They are like a normie version of a Flying J. Too bad my rewards card doesn't crossover. The points I saved up would buy a lot of italian combo sub sandwiches.

In the hot dog section of wawa you can sometimes find something called the "big bacon cheese dog". It's literaly just a hot dog on a small sandwich bun with bacon and cheese slices slapped in the middle with the hot dog. It's pretty decent but then again it's literally just 2 different meats and some cheese on a bun, so if you're expecting anything other than the meat and cheese taste you're going to be fucking disappointed.

Wawa's hoagiefest used to give me life before I moved to a place with no wawas.

Also, sometimes the scummy gas stations you really shouldn't be eating from have the most oddly wholesome food. I remember a particularly run down gas station in my hometown had surprisingly good quality corned beef, and home-made pickled goods and jerkies rather than the chain brand stuff, and one I encountered deep in the appalachias had an old hillbilly who was oddly possessed of a passion for the perfect potato wedges. He'd experiment with custom oil mixes, and made his own seasoning blend. The perfect potato wedge was his white whale. He was also half-blind from moonshine and probably shouldn't have been anywhere near a deep fryer but damn was it good.

Never been to Wawa, but the Buc-ee's club sandwiches and house fries was my jam on my interview travels and other short trips, though I haven't done that in a few years for obvious reasons. The only other hot food I get from gas stations these days is Laredo Taco Company tacos, a 7-Eleven operated taqueria located in some stores. It SOUNDS iffy but get a fresh tortilla made in-house and you won't regret it.

There is a Wawa next town over from mine that is basically an open air drug market. When my sister was working there a couple years ago, she found a substantially sized plastic sandwich bag full of heroin in the bathroom. Bad day for whoever that belonged too.
The food in general is average, although they do have good hotdogs.

Sheetz > wawa
This, but Sheetz isn't in every place where a wawa is.

That said, their chicken breast sandwich with cheese and bacon. Pretty damn good.

Wawa has been throwing stores up left and right in NJ
Yeah, their ability to throw up stores and have competitive gas prices really snuffs out most local gas stations

Wawa is for literal niggers. If you like it you're probably a nigger too.
That's every in-town gas station, lol.

Their sandwiches are not as good as they used to be. When I traveled for work and was anywhere between PA, DE, MD, VA, and FL, I would usually stop in if there was one for a sandwich.

Also, what happened to Hogiefest? I lived in California for almost a decade, and when I moved back to the east Coast, I waited....and waited. Like the 12th season of "Lost", it didn't happen. It's done. Over!

The Gobbler is still the best! The only place that makes it better, also in DE, is Capriotti's. They had a Capriotti's on the north end of Vegas, so I got those fixes often enough!

Never been to Wawa, but I've heard good things. I miss when AMPM was actually good, back in the late 90s/early 2000s. Maverick is great for their burritos and sausage wraps, their sandwiches are pretty good too if a bit overpriced.

I love Wawa.

Their breakfast sandwiches are top tier. They have donut twists when Dunkin doesn't now.

Their sides are meh. But for a gas station, they're well stocked. Even the bathrooms are clean.

It's Hoagie Fest at Wawa, probably the best 6 dollars you can spend atm. The cheesesteak is actually pretty good. I feel like the food quality of their lunch items has actually improved. I used to be really iffy on it, but it's gotten better then most sandwich chains at this point.

Their Fries when they have them available are pretty meh.

I really like them. But I'm not a fry connoisseur. As log as they aren't mushy and wet I'm good.

The loaded fries are nice because there's a ton of topping combos you can get. But they seem to run out of fries fast.

pretty much anything I've had from them that isn't a sub is kinda ass except their quesadillas
but yeah even their tendies kinda suck, their hamburgers are okay at-best, fries are similarly meh
