I love that one of their rules is "Argue in good faith ... do not play devil's advocate"

The devil's advocate is very much arguing in good faith. It's about trying out a counter-narrative and seeing if it's logical. If they're trying to essentially ban discussion on theoretical situations, it means they know they have no consistency, and rules are made arbitrarily. When a new law is drafted I hope like hell people are playing the devil's advocate, like "OK, so let's say I didn't rape someone but they said I did. How could I prove my innocence with this new rule?"

Patrick Klepek is a fucking moron. Yes, Pat I’m sure in the future gender will be something you choose when you’re 5 and we’ll move past those pesky two genders we have today. Maybe we’ll have gender choosing parties because that’s apparently how society will progress in the future? What an idiot trying to assume this gender fad will continue 60 years from now.

Just more trannies and sex weirdos screaming, tearing with tooth and nail to be validated in any inconsequential way, like being a pandering after thought in a videogame for instance. A game most of them won't even play to begin with. Klepek is all about the big emotional pleas with zero substance. Even if they do add 500 genders nobody will give a shit one way or the other a week after launch.

Even though Klepek can say it's "politics", mods could care less since for them, it's more of "someone broke the rules, they get banned" and even if it is "politics" it's not really pushing any propaganda or ideas so much "don't break this rule we set up". One can leave politics at the door and find GamerGate to be stupid shit they don't want to associate with but then again, Klepek is likely to be regurgitating some shit.

I wouldn't be surprised if "putting politics aside", in context of Escapist community, is an attempt to goad the gamergate holdouts on escapist forums to abandon their autism and shut up because everyone is fucking tired of their regurgitated outrage. Yet this fucker here considers it an attack on women and minorities, lol.

I'm willing to bet Patrick was one of the game journos who behind the scenes helped Jim Sterling and Bob Chipman make the Escapist's name toxic to a lot of devs and made them refuse to provide easy coverage. It wasn't what killed the Escapist (the site always had money problems) but it didn't help.

And now he must be enraged that the thing he tried to kill is rising from the ashes.
