Pissing contest time! I only ever played vanilla Minecraft. But I did play Brominer and Infiniminer, which you forgot at the top of your list. The granddaddy of Satisfactory.
Without Notch, there would be no Minecraft.
Without Minecraft, there would be no IndustrialCraft and no BuildCraft.
Without IndustrialCraft and Buildcraft there would be no Technic modpacks.
Without Technic modpacks there would be no Factorio.
Without Factorio there would be no Satisfactory.
Pay respects to the OG's.
Okay yeah, Infiniminer was a direct inspiration for Notch to make Minecraft, but the point is that only after Minecraft became a hit and people started modding it tech mods became a thing, and without them Kovarex wouldn't get the inspiration to make Factorio, which was the direct inspiration to Satisfactory. Let's not one-up ourselves all the way up to the Industrial Revolution.Pissing contest time! I only ever played vanilla Minecraft. Notch used to play those... before he changed.![]()
Got around to loading up my old world
These are great. I'll have to dig up some of my old saves and share my pure embarrassment.I found a backup of an old save that shows how crazy my starting area base got. You can also see the genius floating waterfall tower I had for storing uranium waste before I knew what to do with it.

The current factory setup for processing all uranium waste to plutonium cells, and storage of plutonium waste. Non-radioactive components transfer from the main line to a shuttle line, and waste comes in through drones directly to the upper level of the factory.

I have branched out into other pursuits. Making my stuff woth function AND form is now my main project. 600 hours into the current game and it looks damn nice.@Dammit Mandrake! (sorry can't reply for some reason)
I hate to break it to you brother, it's not Satisfactory that's shrunk but you that's grown.
My first playthru I was at 300+ hours before I even started thinking about fuel power.
My last playthru I was finished my plutonium power set up after only 200 ish hours.
You've just gotten better at the game that's all. You know how things work, what works best and where everything is. The world gets smaller because it's now your playground rather then a dangerous world full of surprises.
Which is a real shame, I wish I could go back and tear out all my Satisfactory memories so I could enjoy the game like I did in the beginning but that's life. We learn and things become easier due to our experiences.
A new map? Yes please! But the truth is that even a new map will feel smaller to us because we know the rules, the limits and how to make the machine go brrrrrrrrrr.
You can never go home again, that's the sad truth of life.
It is really helpful to have someone that is okay with playing like this. Gather slugs, tap nodes and maybe run some belts/transport to the production hubs.I like satisfactory
Though I don't like building the machines and whatnot, I'm a lot more at home playing multiplayer and being a resource monkey to my much more organized friends
So there's this game called "Satisfactory". Its a factory optimization spreadsheet game, kinda like factorio only a bit less complex and with a photorealistic first person look over stylized top down. As is to be expected with these autism simulators, 99.9% of the people who play them are male.
Intrestingly however, the default (and only) player model for the game is female, people have been asking for a male model, and the devs have said no, and when asked for why the explenation the response from the female dev was:
"Why is it always a male in other games? Why shouldn't it be a woman?"
A hobby that is majority male, in a genre that is also majority male, intentionally avoided making a male character as a "punitive" measure to spite the men who want to play it, because too many games (a hobby that again is majority male in a subgenre that is even more majority male) have male characters, in order to appease the 0.01% of women who are intrested in optimization spreadsheet autism simulators, something that you could have also accomplished with a character select for male OR female, that they intentionally didn't do, because their goal was excplicitly to exclude men, not to include women.
