This helpful pointer from Null was but confusing to me because it discusses Ctrl + v and Ctrl + p as the culprit, which is never anything I did. What I now realize is that using the drop image button (which is the most intuitive thing to do) is effectively the same, whether one is using a phone or desktop/laptop.


Instead, go to attach field, and *then* INSERT as thumbnail to get the image where you want it embedded in the post. I get it now and am sorry for making the same mistake others have made.

Have you considered building a 2nd website for A&N in order to separate the two? A free-speech Reddit/voat style aggregator where people can sperg out about current events without having to worry about interrupting the lolcow farms. I asked XenForo for years to make copypasted images thumbnail by default but they refused

umm... not wanting to sound rude but I think the reason why XenForo never do your request to make copypasted images thumbnail by default is because if they do that, then everyone who uses XenForo will be wakened up to a rude surprise when they realize their forum start to paste images as thumbnail by default.

well your knowledge is wrong. Xenforo's source is open to people who've bought it. I have manually changed a lot to keep the site working. An OPTION to make the default thumbs/full would not disrupt other customers.
