I've watched enough threads on various forums, get shit up by low quality posts, to have some sympathy for Jannies.
. . .

I invested hours of my life into the Adrian Harrop and Steven Hayden threads. At least one of the subjects of the threads decided to join using multiple sock accounts, and shit them up untill it got @Kamov Ka-52 's attention. He then promptly ammalgamated them into one abortion of a thread that put off quality posters and essentially put an end to people posting about what those 2 horror shows were getting up to.

It's a shame about those threads, they both had some good content and were fun to participate in but the relentless sockery was making them both irritating to follow; can't blame a janny for taking action, even if that action wasn't what most would have done.
That said, the megathread is a trashfire, haven't looked at it in while but it was a total fucking mess, last I looked.

I know Null usually makes decisions on a whim, but he really needs to background check these fucks before modding them. Look through post history for 20 minutes. Do an FBI-style hiring background check by DMing random people related to/posting alongside them and getting their perspective. The people who get hurt in the end by shitty mods are the users and the forums as a whole.

You my friend have devised an unironically effective method to hiring jannies. I'm behind this idea, sure some circlejerks would happen where peopls group up and bash specific users, but thats the thing, If they arent being bashed, that would go to show.

That was mentioned at the time. Also It was suspected that at least one of the socks was Vordrak's.

Some of the posters were hard work, there were several verified British Terf accounts fighting with one another. Even some of the decent posters had a really obtuse way of writing which made it difficult for the casual reader to figure out wtf was going on.

What really did for both threads was when some of the users started spreading the autism into the wider site. In the end none of the moderators wanted to spend their time on the threads so they nuked them.

See, I was under the impression that Prospering Grounds is a place for users to critique and offer input on new threads. I did exactly that, stating that the individual wasn't a particularly funny person, but rather just a scumbag taking advantage of a dementia-ridden 90 year old man to inherit his wealth and is already being targeted by the Health Department for it, my post got 15-17 reactions for people agreeing with my take, which put it in 2-3rd place with 1st taken by the OP in terms of reactions, and then it got deleted.
Her powerleveing on facebook? Everyone does that, and she's just an idiot. Onlyfans? Nothing special either, just another shameless money-making scheme that hundreds of thousands of people are participating in.
If the post was too dry and analytical for the thread, couldn't it have been deleted once it got moved to a board outside of Prospering Grounds? And if the thread never escapes Prospering Grounds, then the post would've been right, correct? I really just want an explanation. Did someone think I was backseat modding?

Half the threads in internet famous have like 2 to 3 pages of "I don't think this guy is a lolcow" posts and it doesn't hurt the quality of the thread at all (imo it makes it better because it showcases how they had the potential to not end up where they were), so I don't think thats a reason to remove a post like that. Sounds like a butthurt mod is upset you had an option they didn't like and other people agreed.
