Websites That Suck

Cracked. They used to write humorous articles and I visited the site frequently in the 2010s. I even had an account on their forum. It's now just overrun with the usual self-righteous faggots that plague the internet.
This was one of the first places I felt current year politics starting to creep in. Probably around 2011 or 2012.

Youtube -- not inherently bad, but appropriated by grifters and very selectively censorious.
I fucking wish the "don't recommend channel" option actually did its function. Oh, sure, for a little while it disappears from recommendations... only to show right back up at a later date.

Also, the comments are gimped, in the sense that you may finish a comment and send it out - only to reopen the comment section in incognito mode and see that the comment is gone. Often even without any naughty words whatsoever.
This shit does nothing to stop the spammers that are fagging up the comment sections with their links to the latest crypto scam, but we now have to walk on eggshels, with comment visibility now being a game of chance.

I'd say early 2010s was when YouTube was at its best - that's when technology progressed enough to allow for HD, FullHD and even 4K videos and livestreams, but before the enshittification kicked in. I'd say 2013, when Jewgle forcibly tied YT's comment section to Google+, as well as your real data (and also breaking the comment dislike button - and never ever fixing it), was the beginning of the end - and a sure sign of what was to come.
Pic related.

Sad to admit but Neocities.
The idea itself seems to be noble - a free static website host with built-in RSS feed and tag browsing features to make promoting your site easier.

The userbase, however... Full of genderblob freaks that managed to have a thread about them and the retarded "transing the Internet" webring.

I myself mostly navigate in the art and webcomic related tags and at least to my experience they feel more chill in comparison usually, even if the artists happen to be gendies sometimes.

To be honest even in 2013-16 when Neocities started these tards would have been either contained to Tumblr or not be drenched in the gender crap at all.

MTV/Nickelodeon/Cartoon Network - These sites were so much better back in the 2000's and had so much more content like games/news/message boards and wallpapers/screensavers you could download. Now they're pretty much dead and mostly just serve as adverts for their respective streaming service. The TV channels aren't that much better either.
IMDb - Went downhill after they axed the discussion boards
9GAG - Has a huge bot problem spamming political posts
Fandom - How on earth are you supposed to use that site without an adblocker?
I've also noticed a lot of video game walkthrough's just embedded a Youtube video into their page, rather than posting the walkthrough in text form.

Surprised no one has mentioned Quora yet. Quora is where people go to ask stupid questions to self-styled experts who think word salad is always preferable to a simple, concise answer. It's a bigger collection of smug retardation than even Reddit. Even if you wanted to read it, the layout is cluttered as hell, and every page is choked with promotional links and unrelated bullshit.

It also forces you to log in to read the answers.

There was one specific article that stuck out: when LL Cool J and Brad Paisley released that awful Accidentally Racist song, one writer (forgot who) while mocking the song, mentioned that Lynyrd Skynyrd never used the Confederate Flag. As I was reading this, my dad was watching a live performance of Lynyrd Skynyrd, and a banner showing the stars and bars dropped. The lack of research made me quit going to the siite.

Sometimes they hide the comments, and you have to go to Newest First.

On the bright side, a project called the Flashpoint Archive has archived just about every old Flash/Shockwave/Unity Web Player/etc game in playable form.

That site is awful for multiple reasons, and you're better off using an independent wiki anyway if it exists, but if you're stuck with the Fandom wiki, use a BreezeWiki instance instead: https://breezewiki.com/

Ultimate Guitar. It was great for downloading guitar tabs if you had the software Guitar Pro. Now they demand you sign up to their shitty website to download GP tabs. But wait! Even when you join, it still doesn't work. So you have all these tabs that have been around for twenty years that people put their time and effort into that you can't access at all, because they have their own shitty software they're trying to sell to you.

Absolute piss.

Whatever website which uses JS where it's not needed
This is practically every single website now. It's like navigating a minefield with Noscript or Ublock now being on a new website. Some sites in the top 500 most visited on the web are loading close to 100 scripts on their homepages. I am on the DailyMail website and it has scripts from 40 different sites on its homepage and a whopping 200 hits on Ublock alone. You scroll and an inch and Ublock gains another 20 hits.

Lots of sites if you compare heavy advertising and script blocking, to full whitelist access, require triple the resources to load. Sure lots of this is just exceptionally poor website design and near total lack of browser optimization. But it is insane how much extra processing power and memory are required to use the internet without advertising and script blocking.

And people bitch about crypto mining. I bet bullshit like this spews out more carbon than every cryptominer in existence by an order of magnitude.

Everything's gonna get worse thanks to 'jeets from Google and their v3 manifesto

I get like 30 spam emails a day from these guys begging me to read Quora bait posts that are just "out-of-touch parent does something retarded to adopted gay black son" followed by like 5 comments berating the OP and shouting libtard tranny propaganda.

BTW TheHarbringer, I would highly recommend Librewolf & AdNauseum. It can block ads and it artificially inflates the entire ad network while you're at it forcing them to light money on fire. Cool as shit
