I'm not. Yes, people get angry and say things. I'm just saying this is the first time I've ever heard someone try to claim its normal to threaten pets with violence. Admittedly i'm not exactly social but I'd like to think I have a decent pulse on societal norms since i'm not a complete outcast.

Also, no I don't. You know what they normally sound like. I know what they normally sound like. We both know I sound nothing like a shrieking moralistic harpy. I have never, and will never:

1. Raise a hand against my spouse/partner
2. Threaten to harm an animal out of anger

While I semi-agree with what you're saying, this is far less common and/or acceptable (not that it's acceptable at all) in MATURE relationships. This dude was married. I get what youre saying in regards to saying shit you don't mean, but this kinda shit isn't something you can really explain away with an 'I was just upset'.

If he's saying it, theres a good chance there's at least some credibility behind it.

Name calling, etc. is one thing but very specific threats is another.

It's not something to be jailed over, clearly, but it's definitely something that would be reviewed on if something more serious were to happen.

I think most of us can agree to that, but I'm not sure you can lump Ron into that because he's shown a pattern of this behavior. It's not a "regular people sometimes say horrific things when they're upset" when it's not a "sometimes". I can see your point that people can occasionally lose their shit and become exceptional, but this isn't occasional, it's a pattern.

I don't think he's a psychopath for hitting a woman with a remote. I think he's a psychopath because he's fucking insane for trying to threaten the judge. Maybe I'm just confusing that with stupidity.
