When AL went to Cracker Barrel towards the beginning of the vlog, she said something very telling: that Cracker Barrel lists the calories of each specific item on the menu so she was able to see the amount of calories in the mashed potatoes vs the green beans.

AFAIK, all chain restaurants in the USA are required to list the calories of all the items on their menus anyway. (Not sure about non-chain restaurants, but big AL doesn’t have to worry about that.)

So does this mean she doesn’t even try to count calories when she says she does? Wouldn’t she know that calories for each menu item at a chain restaurant are listed already if she was trying to count calories? Maybe she’s just been the human calculator this whole time and has just been guesstimating the amount of calories all the while?

The rule is that if the restaurant has more than 20 locations, they must put their calories on the menu. So that excludes her BBQ joint (Sonny's), the Chinese Buffet, and that Mexican place they frequent (Le Casa).
